Cute little shop with fudge and gifts. We walked in with my tiny dog and they greeted us and gave her treats. They were very sweet. My brother and sister in law wanted to try their coffee. They ordered flat whites with oat milk and said it was quite weak and did not have much flavor. They tossed their coffees. Their fudge is very good. read more

My husband wanted a coffee and I was thinking about a drink. The ladies at the front told me I could take photos of the front of the store but nothing inside. I am learning that this whole village seems to be quite lacking in trust of their potential customers and have some delusional belief that we yelpers that take pictures must be doing it to steal their ideas and replicate their crafted pieces, rather than wanting to give the establishment free marketing and draw in other consumers to buy and shop local. What's up with this skewed mentality. Yelpers like to share and spread theirs experiences to other yelpers, that's all we aim to do with taking photos and sharing in our experiences. Once again we left this establishment after not being allowed to take one photo of the interior. Too bad as I was interested in the garden metal decorations, but once again they lost a potential customer after no photos of the interior was declared. We are leaving this insecure and tourist conspiracy theory village. read more

Forgive the long winded review, but it's necessary. Looking at these reviews, my experience wasn't a one off and the owner, Crystal Babbin, wasn't just having a bad day....she's an unhappy, rude person who takes out her anger on everyone around her. I've purchased from this shop in the past and after my experience today, I definitely won't be back. I went in with my fiancè to buy coffee and I asked if she could grind it for me. She did, though she looked annoyed about it. When she finished, I thanked her for grinding the beans for me and asked if I could have a bag. Behind the counter I saw plastic bags with handles so that's what I expected to get, but instead I got a paper bag with no handles. Normally, no biggie, but today I was riding my bike 8 miles home. When I asked if I could have a bag with handles, she rolled her eyes, scoffed and ripped the bag out of my hand. She then brings me a used ice bag that's still wet on the inside. Obviously, I was confused and asked if I could just have a regular plastic bag. She proceeds to tell me that she gave me a bag already, and then asked "what do you want?" While throwing her fit, she also throws a very small plastic bag at me which doesn't fit the 1lb grinded coffee beans I had just purchased. I then said "all I want is one of those plastic bags I can see right behind the counter." From there, it gets more laughable and much, much worse. She grabs a regular sized plastic bag, throws it at me, demands that I leave her store or she's going to call the cops. At this point, I've had it and I'm getting my money back because the "small business" that I just supported absolutely does not deserve to profit off of me after her embarrassing outburst. She refuses to refund my money and I said I'd happily wait for the cops that she called. She continues to scream and tell me that she gave me everything I asked for and to get out of her store. Now people already in the store are looking concerned and telling me that they fully support me and that I don't deserve to be treated this way. The owner again tells me to leave and walks up in my face looking like she's going to get physical with me and says "get the fuck out of her store." Again, I'll leave when you give me my money back...so she takes the card out of my hand and proceeds to pretend to refund me. I asked for a receipt and again, she responds by telling me that I got what I wanted and to get out of her store. Good thing I didn't leave because she lied and did not refund anything. She continues to ignore me while making coffee behind the counter for someone else that she knows based on the conversation. Standing by the fudge, I then ask her employee for the receipt and she says "I'm so sorry but I can't get in the middle of this." The owner says to "take the coffee and go." I told her again that I'll leave once she gives me proof of the refund. She looks like she's going to have a stroke at this point, tells me to give her my card (again) and this time she actually refunds my money, but not without the commentary to which she asks "what the hell else do you want?" I told her the only thing better than a refund would be for her store to go out of business. She didn't like that, but it's what she deserves. Anyways, she finishes the refund and hands me the receipt, but she failed to give me back my card so we argued for another minute about that until she goes to the back of her store to get my credit card that she in fact still had. Then, I happily left the store. I feel terrible for the employee who was working today and I truly hope she can find a better job without a boss who harasses staff and customers. As a Pentwater local, this business needs to get out of my town. The behavior by the owner was absolutely ridiculous and there's no room for her disrespect and poor attitude here. This store has been in our community for years and the previous owners of this business would be astounded by this behavior. I don't recommend supporting this business. There are plenty of other great local spots to spend your money. read more

The coffee is good, but the quality of service that you will receive is simply not worth your time. My fiancé and I were walking in to get coffee, and witnessed one of the employees raise her voice at another customer saying, "I don't know what more you want from me! Do you just want to come behind my counter and get it yourself?" after the customer simply asked for a bag with handles to carry her coffee as she rides her bike. The employee that served us was very kind. However, I was shocked to see another employee treat a customer this way, and refuse to give them a refund after the way they had treated them. I gave no more of my time the situation and left so I'm not sure how it ended. Maybe I missed some key details in the situation, but I was shocked to see a business treat a paying customer this way. read more

I debated about this as I ended up not purchasing anything. I walked in on Saturday and observed from what I've read is the owner yelling and throwing bags at a young woman and telling her to get the f#@*% out of her store. As the young woman left I watched the owner laughing with someone who seemed to be a regular. I was appalled and quickly left to see if the woman was ok. I am posting this review because based on other reviews this seems to be a pattern and I have no idea how this woman is still in business. Does she not understand that tourism in Pentwater is a very short season? No human should be subjected to this type of behavior. read more

I love the many gift ideas. I buy wedding, birthday and shower gifts there. If I mention something to the owner she goes out of her way to find and bring it into her store. I am always treated with incredible kindness. I am very thankful for a place to go and injoy a great cup of coffee too. Thank you Crystal! This place is sort of a combination coffee shop/ gift shop. They sell all kinds of specialty coffees, beans and ground, and you can buy it by the cup, too. I couldn't resist the Pentwater Christmas Blend beans, they smelled so good! We didn't get any brewed because we'd just had coffee elsewhere, but if I'd known about this place I would have waited to get a cup here instead! The fudges looked really good but I've already gained wright on this trip so I resisted. Sigh. read more

The pajama pants and shorts are the comfiest ever, I have almost every style and Crystal always lets me know when new colors come in before anyone else, one of the perks of living in Pentwater year round. Just ask for the "Amanda pants" if you want your own. Not only does she have a fantastic variety of items for every occasion, she gives back to the community that she works and lives in by donating her time and hard earned money any time she's asked. I live to go here every time I'm in Pentwater. The shop owner does a great job of picking merchandise and she recently added a kitchen section. I always love to check out the neat cooking gadgets. You can always find a gift or two here. She has excellent homemade fudge in the front case. There is freshly brewed coffee (serve yourself) and she also has an espresso machine. She makes an excellent latte or cappuccino. There is always a special drink each day. I think she has a better cappuccino than the village grounds. Check out this lovely store. Really small store and I tripped, and knocked a picture off the wall , and it put the smallest chip in frame you couldn't even see, and they made me pay for it... the kicker is, the nail it was hanging on was the smallest nail ever, and I pointed out that that big of a picture should never hanging on such a small nail! Owner and host Vicky Scott is an absolute whiz at merchandising and displaying her unique decorative offerings. The items are extremely well priced and Ms Scott goes out of her way to help her customers find just the right thing. I find something new every time. Not to be missed are Oldewick's inventive and lucious fudges--and by all means have one or more of their lattes. Fabulous! This is a great store....The new owner, Crystal Babbin is as much fun as Vickie Scott was. She has a huge selection of Polish pottery, priced fairly, and lots of rooster things. We "chicken women" love it!!! I always find something, and Crystal will gladly do a speacial order. The coffee is great and she has a wonderful selection of coffee beans from a family owned coffee roaster. We love to "sip and shop" Be sure to try the Moondoe Blend. They are still making the fudge, so creamy, don't miss the dark chocolate! And yes, they still do the pumpkin pecan for the fall festival. I have her ship it to me for Thanksgiving, it's a family favorite. read more
