The theater is adorable, and there is a cool ship in the corner with which to take pictures. All of the staff were quite friendly and there's a nice variety of toys and books to choose from, including books that are locally based on Michigan stories and legends. Then they moved on to jumping into the big pile of stuffed animals in the stuffed animal section, then they went to the dinosaurs and STEM toys. There are so many kinds of toys here. The night manager who has a limp and assistant manager who is short and has curly hair with cauliflower ear are beyond creepy. Instead of running the store, they stalk and stare at customers--especially women--making the whole shopping experience extremely uncomfortable. The moment you walk in, they start following you around the store, watching your every move like some kind of predator. I don't know if they think they're being subtle, but it's painfully obvious. It's unsettling and makes you want to leave as fast as possible. No customer should feel watched, judged, or stalked while trying to shop. On top of that, they treat their employees like absolute garbage right in front of customers. I've seen them yell at workers, degrade them, and act like they're above everyone. If this is how they behave when people are watching, I can only imagine how bad it is behind the scenes. Between the creepy, unprofessional behavior and the toxic management, I cannot recommend this store to anyone--especially at night. If you don't want to feel watched, stalked, or uncomfortable, do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.

I am so glad we did, what an amazing place, to call it just a store is not giving it its proper due. This is the coolest collectable/toy store I have ever seen. It will be a regular stop when we are anywhere near here. It's part museum and part collector's wet dream. Rows and rows and pegs of figures of every era and genre. The vibe is a little retro but my friends and I found some items to purchase. Inventory was a little limited when it came to brand new bestsellers, but if you want an older popular book you might be able to find it here. I ended up buying a few fun Manistee postcards with vintage scenes, including one of Orchard Beach State park, where we were camping. They made for a great souvenir! My boyfriend got a book on knots, and we found a used board book in the used books area for our friends who are expecting a baby. The used book room was a blast from the past, with some retro 90s cookbooks and other vintage finds. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to bookshop and I'm sure they can special order most books. They have some toys and gifts for kids. Masks and use of hand sanitizer is politely required.
