They even had the unique shiva that can be hard to locate and overpriced. They had fossils and rocks as well, especially the petoskey stone. The items were fair priced too. They currently do require face masks and the restroom is closed. However, the lovely worker with an awesome accent instructed us how to get to public restrooms a short 2 minites away! We love this cute shop and were excited that we saw it.

I think "original gifts" would be more accurate. They have jewelry, items for the house and garden, old post cards, pottery, masks, drinking glasses...we had a good time just poking around to see what they had. The owner was friendly and asked if we needed help, and left us to wander. We ended up buying stone earrings for $10 each. We enjoyed the store and recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

It is filled with so many whimsical items perfect for gifting or treating yourself. It is beautifully curated and laid out in a way that you just want to bring the entire section home. The staff is always kind and friendly and no matter how many times you pass through. It's smallish quaint interior you will find something different upon each pass. My SIL & BIL just bought a new house so they were excitedly exploring all the decor, particularly garden decor, for their new abode. My husband's niece also recently got her first house and she excitedly picked out several cute things for her yard like the stone owls and a couple of other pieces. While everyone was browsing outside I popped inside and saw the most gorgeous embroidered chair. It was blue with orange birds and flowers all over it. I showed it to my husband who also loved it and urged me to get it. "That is an Annette chair if I've ever saw one" he said. Alas, we are due for getting some repair work done around our house so I balked at the price and said "maybe next time!" And stepped away from the chair with a longing look. Hah. I didn't leave empty handed tho! I picked up a cute solar grasshopper figurine to add to my garden and a golden fox statue for indoor decor. Anyway, I left the shop to go browse down the street and long story short, my in-laws were sneaky and bought me the chair as a surprise gift!! I was floored by their generosity and tried to argue, but the deal was done so I accepted the gift with the kindness intended. Now, between me, my husband, my mom, three dogs and all our luggage we had zero room in our car for the chair so my sneaky in-laws also arranged delivery with the shop. A day or two after we got back home I got a call and text from the gallery letting me know the owner himself was going to be in our town the next day and had the chair with him for delivery. I was surprised and impressed that they did their own delivery (not sure what I expected but wasn't white glove service by the owner to our house 4.5 hours from them!) My husband greeted him at the door and the chair was delivered in all its beautiful glory. So yeah, this store is great for unique decor both small (cute stone owls) to large (a beautiful embroidered chair) and everything in between. Now I just have to figure out the right place to put it bc this is a chair that demands to be seen!

Most places will have you request the issue you would like to look at; a total drag. Anyway, this store is located kinda in a back alley. One of this "blink and you'll miss it" type of places. I was able to come across several out of print comics (for example, an Archie collection). I was able to pick up a few comics that were a part of the Dark Phoenix Saga. Will definitely be making the 2 and a half hour trek up there again sometime soon.

Many that I've been to are way overpriced with very little selection, so I tend to stick with online shopping or larger department stores. HOWEVER. Sweet Pea. Exception! I was graciously given a Sweet Pea gift certificate and so I popped in before departing TC -- I should've given myself more time. There is such great selection, it's almost like a mini department store. Many stores within a store as they carry several brands that operate sort of like small displays within the store. My FAVORITE brand Aden & Anais -- oodles of stuff. Heaven. They also have great clothing like Tea, etc. The stroller selection is out of this world. Seriously. Wow. If you are looking for ANYTHING child related, this is your place. Great for gifts of course, but truly even for your own kids. I spoke with Jeff (the owner and father of FOUR!) and he is truly knowledgable about all of the brands and extremely involved in the products he offers. Him and I went to the same high school! The staff was also very friendly, helping me with sizes and showing me a few things I didn't know about. Sweet Pea is everything that a baby/kid store should be. Right in Downtown TC. Lucky ducks! I'll be making frequent stops on my trips to the native land. All around a classy operation. I walked away with an A&A sleep sack for upcoming travels, a cherry onesie (couldn't resist) and some other organic cotton outfits that this little babe has already worn several times.
