This was my second time at Bristol, and once again I was absolutely blown away. From the fresh baked biscuits with honey butter to the fantastic happy hour deals, this might be my favorite restaurant in the area. Our server, Matt, was over-the-top fantastic. His recommendations were on point, he was genuinely fun to talk to, and he made us feel completely welcomed. They even split up our meals so my date and I could share, which was a great touch. The food was great again, though I was disappointed to see the shrimp scampi off the menu since it was my favorite. The spicy cauliflower wasn't my favorite, but the oysters were solid, especially with the discount. The smoked old fashioned Matt poured table-side was awesome, and he even left the extra whiskey in the smoked bottle. The only real disappointment was the fourteen dollar upcharge to add shrimp to a salad. I will definitely be returning again. read more

I grew up near the Creve Coeur location, and I'd go there every once in a while back in the day, on the rare occasion when my parents had somehow caught a lick. Maybe my grandparents died and they inherited $300, or something to that effect. We were gonna go there for Mother's Day, but we couldn't get a table. I drove by on the way home this evening, and the lot was full of those mini SUVs normies swear by. It's definitely the kind of place you'd take your mother on Mother's Day. Women love seafood, and it costs a lot of money, so it shows that you care. They can take a selfie out front and use it to stunt on anyone whose child took them to a Red Lobster. There's a special prix fixe menu that they wheel out on special occasions, including Mother's Day, that might save you about $5--but only if you were planning to get a salad, which you don't really need. There's nothing really special about their salads. I guess you're getting a little roughage, and a little extra food to compensate for entrees that aren't particularly large, and it's not any more than you'd pay to order an entree and a dessert a la carte. And you're going to want that dessert. The Carrot Cake is the best thing this place serves. I don't know if they're baking it themselves or ordering it from a catalog. Probably the latter. I didn't bother to check to see what it costs, but I'd be willing to ask my parents to pay as much as $15 for a slice. It's positively decadent. It probably cost me a day or two off the end of my life, and it was worth it. What do old people even do? For the appetizer I got the Caesar Salad, and for the entree I got the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. There were no real appetizers, like chicken wings or loaded potato skins, on the prix fixe menu. There was a wide selection of entrees, and they seemed to be the exact same servings you'd get if you ordered them a la carte. Though it should be noted that anything here will run you. It's not like they're doing you a favor. Everything that I had was pretty good, but not in any way that was truly impressive. The crab cakes were small. Really, it was just one jumbo lump crab cake split into two. They must think we're dumb. The mashed potatoes were less decadent than I recall them being back in the 1990s, which I realize was probably before our server was born, but I don't care. If I can remember it, it still counts. In general, this is just not the classy affair they want it to be. I don't know what the food is like at the Creve Coeur location, but it looks way cooler. This place has different signage and a completely different vibe. It's built into the kind of hotel your sales job puts you up in when they bring you to town to attempt to fleece the elderly. The whole thing has that same prefab vibe that everything in St. Charles County has. With all due respect. I'd return, but only if my mother insisted and my father was paying. read more

Very good food. Not a great value high priced. Ordered the bruschetta and it came with 6 melba toast crackers. It used to come with toasted crustini bread. Ordered ceasar salads for $13 each and got half the salad we used to get very small. Looks like they split 1 salad in two. They should serve another choice of potato other than whipped very inexpensive. The fish is great and very good just don't cut corners especially if you charge as much as you do. Great place for special occasion too high priced to eat there more often. read more

We've celebrated many anniversaries at the Bristol in Creve Coeur because of our love for seafood and their consistently excellent food. However, this year we decided to try the Bristol in O'Fallon for our anniversary celebration, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant has a beautiful, open design--much more spacious than the original location--and it was spotless. The food was just as incredible as we've come to expect. We both opted for the 3-course meal, starting with the lobster bisque. The bisque was outstanding and held special meaning for us. When we were newly married and on a tight budget, my father-in-law would take us to the Bristol, and the lobster bisque was his favorite. As we enjoyed it, my wife reflected on how much her dad loved that soup. Though he passed away two years ago, having the bisque felt like a small way to honor him and his memory. For our mains, we enjoyed perfectly cooked salmon and swordfish, paired with flavorful sides like cauliflower au gratin, lemon asparagus risotto, and potatoes. Each dish was fresh and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we indulged in a decadent chocolate cake with raspberry ice cream and a warm apple pie dish (the exact name escapes me). We rarely take the time to enjoy a long, relaxing 3-course meal, but sitting near the fireplace, reminiscing about our lives together, and savoring a fantastic meal made this anniversary truly special. read more

Bristols is my go-to when I am in town on a business trip. The restaurant is clean and has a nice interior. The staff is always welcoming and kind. To top it all off, the food is delicious and flavorful. If you love crab, I would highly recommend their crab cakes. One of my favorite appetizers here. For the entree, I went with the pan seared sea scallops on their specials menu. Got it with the lemon asparagus and herb roasted potatoes. read more

Valentines Day ... I am traveling and stay at the Hilton next door. Hilton's restaurant is closed at 7:30pm. They give me a 15% discount card for Bristol. They found seating for me at the bar. Service was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. I order the (two) mini lobster roll appetizer. Very tasty. Good presentation. Fries were very good and not over-salted. Lobster mac & cheese - insufficiently lobster-y; but otherwise, good. Beer cold. Their hoppy-iest IPA ... insufficiently hoppy, but served cold in a chilled glass. Noisy. Crispy rice sushi as an app. It's good, I don't think it's a lot for $18. I'd get something else next time. My wife got a surf and turf option with steak and a crab cake. There was so much food they forgot the crab cake and brought it out for us to go! No issue it was delicious. I had the FRENCH CREOLE ORECCHIETTE AND MY GOD IT WAS THE BEST THING IVE EVER EATEN. We also visited this spot when we were in town for a conference and it was definitely out of the way from where we were staying. However, it was well worth the drive as the food was delicious. The restaurant is located as an out building in a strip mall area in a neighborhood. Which, driving up, was a totally unassuming place. There is plenty of parking around the establishment, so no worries there. On the inside, it's a lot of dark yellow and dark wood. The ambiance was nice, and due to the high ceilings, sound was not overbearing and you could hear everyone at the table (there were 10 of us). I could even Shazam the music and pick it up. We started with a number of wines and recommend cocktails which were all good selections especially from the aid of our server. She was extremely helpful in drink selection, refills, and food recommendations. We thought we were coming to more of a steakhouse with fish options and it was more of a fish place with some steak options. However, there was plenty of dishes for any palate and all were good. We started off with several appetizers to share and the were all good: the Blue Hill Bay Mussels were fresh and tasty (so I was told), calamari wasn't overly friend (which I love but have learned I'm allergic to and cannot eat - bummer), goat cheese bruschetta, and the bang bang rock shrimp (which was my choice and a good one!) I cannot recall what everyone ordered for their mains, but I got the 8oz filet combo with the maple-glazed bourbon shrimp. The steak was cooked to perfection (which to me is medium) and the shrimp were large, fresh, and flavorful. It came with two sides and I ordered the haricots verts and twice baked potato. Both were delicious. I then opted to take the chocolate velvet cake back with me to my hotel and told them not to give me the raspberry ice cream as it would melt. Well, the way the packed it, it didn't melt. The cake was a moist chocolatey goodness that many restaurants miss the mark on, but Bristol nailed with ease and the side of the raspberry ice cream was a nice accountremont with it. If you're in the area. I highly recommend. This is easily a fave spot for me in the St. Louis area. read more

Had a lovely dinner with my boyfriend, his mom and stepdad. They were celebrating their anniversary. They have a vegetarian menu which mostly just all their vegetarian items on a separate menu for easy access. The pasta (what I ordered) is not on the regular menu. It was great. Pasta cooked well with fresh vegetables and olive oil. The table biscuits are very good too. Asparagus cooked perfectly. I've never had crème brûlée but I loved it. The service was great. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine selections. We were greeted by the manager. No complaints. Would return again. read more

The food at Bristol's is always delicious. It's one of the few places in STL that you can trust that the seafood is FRESH and top quality. Our service is always exemplary, from the gentlemen who walk around with biscuits and honey butter (it's difficult to say no, but you must or you won't eat your meal!), the attentive servers, and even the manager visited our table several times. It's always a laid back atmosphere, but you don't feel awkward dressing up or down. We love it! Bristol's is one of our favorites. read more

Kayleen was our server; she was terrific for several reasons: she paid just the right amount of attention to us, allowing us to enjoy our time while making sure we were well-cared for. She was engaging and knowledgeable while answering our questions about the fresh daily seafood specials (!). We never had to ask for anything; Kayleen was absolutely on point. And the food! Oh, my! What is going on with this place? It was one of our favorite dining places. The bartenders give you plenty of attitude and know nothing about customer service. They act like the customers are annoyance to them. I chose not to remember their names, but there was a team of two guys and they both had horrible attitudes! We've been going there for more than 10 years and suddenly the staff is different. Nobody really cares about customer service. I thought when Richard came back to this location Things would get better, but they've only gotten worse. I suggest you take those bartenders and retrain them because we won't be back and I've heard other people say the same thing. It's a shame! I have been in customer service, my whole life, and I will not accept being treated by a restaurant staff like this. I will go to Oceano when I want seafood from now on. We were served honey butter to go along with it. My salmon was good but the asparagus was on the just warm side. The twice baked potatoes were ok. Overall I did feel like it was a bit overpriced. My husband and I attended The Tastes of France Dinner on Thursday, June 26th and it was so wonderful. We have been to several of the themed dinners at Bristol and this one was in the top five faves!! The service was awesome and the wine was perfectly paired with the four courses. We loved talking to the regional rep for the wine, Lori. We learned a lot about the wine selected for the evening.
