We went out kayaking, but unfortunately my friend lost her keys in the river. We couldn't find the fob, and it was near the end of the day. My friend's husband called around and found Mike. He said he doesn't usually go out and do calls like this, but he showed up anyway. He worked hard and figured out what was needed to get a new key fob made. He was even missing a piece of equipment and ran home to get it and came back to finish the job. All in all, he was very fast. He was friendly. And he helped my friend get into her car and enabled her to bring her car home. He was amazing and very much appreciated. Thank you, Mike, for saving the day! Maybe I caught the guy there on a bad day... but I had a key that was already cut, and I had…read moreswapped housings to a new one because the old one was old and wanted a new, better looking case with the remote buttons for a Toyota FJ Cruiser. I needed to get a new transponder chip for the key so it would start the vehicle since the one from the swapped housing was either lost or damaged when I disassembled the old housing. I had that key made a couple years and it worked perfectly but unfortunately (my fault) the chip was not working after disassembly. He had other customers and said it would be a wait, that he didn't know if he could do it from the valet key, it could take 15 to 45 minutes and then he stated he didn't even know if it would work. I explained the previous place had done it in about 10 minutes, and he said "maybe you should go back there." The shop which I had it done at was in Florida, so I said that was a bit far. ‍ I was courteous in my attitude, but he basically sounded like he didn't have the time or wanted to even mess with it. I would have gladly waited and paid the fee but the experience left me with a bad taste. Especially since it was only the chip, the key was already cut and the remote buttons already programmed. If he doesn't want my money or business, I'll just go somewhere else.
