Do not use this company. You will wait on hold for 2 hours, they will not assist, it will take over a month for someone to be scheduled and then will no show. Then you will have to start the process all over. System continuously says its offline so I am unable to monitor my home. It also beeps nonstop so we have to shut it off. They have Zero customer service. Can't wait until my 3 year contract it because in order for me to cancel they will also charge me. read more

Moved into a new house that already has brinks and transferred the account. As we're quickly going through docu-sign, it's never mentioned that it's a 5 year contract. Called to cancel because we dont use it. Spent over an hour on the phone and was told someone would call me back in 2 days. No one did of course, so I followed up in a week and they are securely covered by the contract. Be VERY careful with what you sign. I've tried to contact them a couple other times due to issues with sensors and the experience was so painful (exceptionally long times on hold or dealing with robo replies) that I gave up. I had simplisafe before and cannot express how much I prefer that system..you have a lot of options, I'd think twice before going with brinks. read more

My contract was sold to Brink's Home security system and it has been ridiculously impossible to get them to provide service since they took over. Their "customer service " line had me on hold for 3 hours and disconnected me. I tried a week later and was on hold again for over an hour just to have the agent tell me the same BS you hear from every "customer service " agent, "I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your security system, but unfortunately that is not something we cover", what? Really, I rolled into a 5 year contract 3 yrs ago and now this company takes over and now it's not covered. If I want to break my contract they want to charge me the rest of the two years upfront. Contract is there to have the other party be held accountable to, it goes both ways. I guess I'm going to have to get the snakes involved. Stay clear from Brink's, from the looks of it it appears they're just trying to dissolve the company and not provide service anymore. They work really hard to get you into a contract but they don't work hard at keeping their end of the bargain they just want to charge crap out of you through the contract and not provide any service. read more

Trying to cancel your service is a nightmare! I started with Monotronics which then became Brinks. The monthly monitoring price kept going up so I decided to switch to something cheaper. My contract was completed so all I needed to do was cancel my monthly service. Seems simple, right? I spent an hour and a half on the phone trying to cancel. Very high pressure sales to remain a customer. I appreciate an offer to try to keep my business, but this was ridiculous. And after all that, they wouldn't press the button to cancel. Had to wait for a document to esign. A few days later they sent me the document. I returned it the same day. However, Brinks still charged me for the rest of the month even though I was cancelling on the 14th of the month. My online account gives me no information as to when they will stop charging me. I can't bring myself to spend another hour and a half on the phone with their customer service, so I'm just waiting. Would absolutely not recommend Brinks. Find another company if you're looking for home security. read more

Brinks just acquired our home security company. Which means I am now a customer. Ever try to call them? Fourth time I have called and still on hold. During their hold time they boast wholeheartedly about how amazing their customer service is. In fact, they go out of their way to say that JD Power and Associates rates them number one for home security in 2018. However if you go to JD Power and Associates website it clearly does not support their claims. In fact it specifically says it doesn't support that claim. In fact JD Power and Associates website goes on to say and tell you about 5 top companies which is not include Brinks Home Security. I find that fascinating. I guess nobody's updated their hold ads for a long time. I would not recommend starting up new service with Brinks Home Security. You'll be sorry. They have zero customer service! read more

Unethical, predatory company! I would give them negative stars if I could. Look at the BBB reviews. They are virtually all 1-star for the same reason: Once they've got your credit card number, they make in very difficult to cancel and keep charging you for services not rendered! There is NOTHING to be found on Brinks' website regarding their cancellation policy, and when I called to cancel, as they continuously raised my rates, I was informed by Janneth in the "Loyalty" department that Brinks has a 30-day cancellation policy, and that they would continue to charge me for "monitoring services" during that time. I explained multiple times that this was an impossibility because their equipment was no longer installed in my house, but this inconvenient fact fell on deaf ears. And, after spending 40 minutes on the phone with Janneth in an attempt to cancel my service, I discovered that it was still not cancelled! I had to wait an additional 24 to 48 hours for an email to arrive containing a document that I had to sign and return before they would even begin the "cancellation process"--which takes 30 days! Are you kidding me? How can it possibly take 30 days to cancel a monitoring service--especially a monitoring service that's not being provided? I was also informed that if another billing cycle began during that 30 days (which was inevitable) I would be charged a prorated amount for the additional "monitoring services" which, again, are not being provided. I asked to speak with Janneth's supervisor, but she said she doesn't have one. Is there no one conducting her performance reviews? I guess that explains a lot. Brinks is blatantly stealing from me by charging me for services not rendered. read more

I had livewatch security for two of my houses after they were bought by Brinks customer support is nonexistent. They do not respond to tickets and if you text them the response is whatever you ask asking about is handles by another team that is not available. Going forward I would NOT recommend Brinks. read more

Been out of service with a beeping alarm system for four days. Called this morning and the tech supposedly corrected problem for "tamper" issues. Within an hour started beeping again. Called back and was told to get on a ladder and remove smoke detector alarm. My husband had stroke and I had surgery. Neither one of us can climb or bring in a ladder, If I wanted tech it would be a $50.00 visit fee and the next appointment would be 1/3/2020. (4 weeks away). Service was far from advertisement of being one of the top rated security companies. Waiting for a call back in 48 hours to see what he can do. Had service for 4 years with minor issues. Not happy without having security. read more

Forced to be a customer, Brinks Home Security purchased Protect America, which is the original service we subscribed to. Brinks would not cancel our service after the aquisition. Aside from being unethical and truly disturbing, they told us we were still under contract, which is a load of potato's! Since a lawsuit would have been much more expensive we kept the service (and I use the term service loosely). Now the contract term is over. We spent an hour and 15 minutes on hold. The rep said we could only cancel if we docusigned a cancellation which could take up to 36 hours to receive electronically. The service they provide is nothing. On hold for an excessive amount of time, old system, no offer to upgrade equipment, magnets falling off walls inside our house causing false alarms, DIY install of all equipment and a do not care attitude from the start. We are not sure WHY YOU WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Our service (if you want to call it that) has been cancelled. Thank gosh it's over! read more

I canceled my service with Brinks on 1-5-2019. First, I initially had Montronics, never did I receive any notification as to a change in my security system, two, even tho I cancelled my service with Montronics/ Brinks in Texas, I was informed that it would take them a month to cancel everything and I would still be responsible for the sum owing for the month of January which is the sum of 22.74. I had no one monitoring my home, Brinks was not doing it.If a person cancels a service are you still responsible My bill for January was 22.17 for the month of December 2018; therefore there should be no more bills and if you question their reasoning they hang up Do not use them!!!! read more

completely UNETHICAL!! i have been trying to cancel service for months. first attempt - in june 2021. the rep told me " i see you disconnected your land line" i was surprise they could see that. BRINKS WAS AWARE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE BUT KEPT BILLING. i was willing to just pay and cancel and be done. but you have to be transferred to the cancellation department. the woman i spoke to was a sales person and told me she needed to review my needs and the account before the account could be closed. it was a hard sell to use their service at your new home. since then i have made attempts to disconnect. i have used the text option, they can't cancel via text - that makes sense. i finally stopped the auto pay and now I HAVE BEEN CHARGED PAST DUE AND RETURNED CHECK FEES. ALL WHILE BRINKS WAS AWARE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE. just today, 3 dropped calls and as of now 71 minutes on hold while i have been again trying to cancel service. anyone else have this problem? i will be contacting the FCC and if there are more of us then brinks would probably be fined for unfair practices. read more
