After being a loyal Brinks customer for greater then 7 years, I needed to cancel my service due to unforeseen life challenges. I canceled service before next billing cycle, and was then charged for the following month. After speaking with 3 different customer service agents, the charge is not able to be returned to me. I am extraordinarily disappointed in Brinks Home Security. When I am able to get back on my feet financially and am looking for home security, I will absolutely not call Brinks. Been a customer a while and moved home and got a deal to stay with them. All good til the video doorbell stopped working - didn't know if someone was at the door and had no video for security either. Made an appointment for their tech to come out - $75 charge to me and couldn't get a booking until 3 weeks, so I took the day off work as I travel out of state ... they changed the appointment to the afternoon the day before he was coming, no big deal I moved my appointments around. But the 2hrs before the time window ended I was told he couldn't come ... asked if anyone else, how Donn I could get someone as a security risk that the system isn't working...... next available date nearly 3 weeks out ... so nearly 7 weeks to get someone out that I'm paying for to make the crappy thing work!!! I would like to leave 0 stars, unfortunately that's not an option. They quoted a reasonable 3 year locked in rate, however, they add on hidden monthly fees which jacked the rate up. Their technical support team is horrible - they are never able to resolve anything whenever I call. I've been anxiously awaiting the end of my contract with them so that I could switch to a competent alarm company. I gave them the mandatory 30 day notice so that I would not be billed for an additional month, but SURPRISE!!!, they went ahead and billed me for a 'disconnection fee', which they claim would take up to 30 days to perform. They claim that they have to contact the police department, insurance company, etc. to let them know that I am dropping service with them. My question...couldn't that be done during the last month of service by giving the impacted parties the date that the service is being disconnected??? Oh hell no, why do that when you can screw the customer into paying additional money even after they fulfilled the stipulations of the contract. The representative that I spoke to said that this was 'standard business procedure'. My question is, why wasn't this written on the contract? I will be contacting the Attorned General about this fee and see what they have to say about that practice. My advice...run away, run away, run far away!!!! read more

My contract was $14.00 a month. Within 6 months it was back up to $25.00. Trying to end the contract, you have to call, then they send you an email ( after a few days), then after filling those forms out, you then email them back. By that time you get charged for another month plus whatever else they feel like adding on. Ended up being three months worth of charges. I would not recommend this company. read more

Probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had with any business for that matter. I cancelled my system in December; spoke with a representative and of course got the hard sell to stick with them. I had already made a change to a new system which looking back I should not have disclosed that. I was told my system was cancelled and would only be charged one more month as that was what the contract had stated even though we were no longer under contract. After 5 more months of charge I finally spoked with a supervisor of some kind and he said I needed to send in a letter via email and that there was no record at all of my call in December.. ironic that this is a security company and they don't have secure records of their calls? Anyway, still not sure if it's canceled or not but if you are wanting an alarm system, this is not the one. Shady shady shady. I learned my lesson. The service is fine, it's the customer service that is TERRIBLE. Cancelling service is a nightmare. I had their alarm system in central Phoenix but when I moved to a gated, patrolled retirement community, I no longer needed it. I called to cancel and kept getting transferred to customer service reps who kept hard-selling me to keep the system. When I finally convinced them that I was serious, they said they would send me documents to sign via email. I received it several days later at 1 am in the morning on Saturday, and by Sunday night the request was auto-voided for not responding in time. I had to call to cancel again! Brinks has great technology and monitoring. This succeeds my previous review when I couldn't get service when I was in the hospital. I would have been better off if I had realized that apparently people should realize that generally some high profile companies are for sales and not very prompt at providing service. DO NOT USE BRINKS. I was forced into being a customer since they bought out Monitronics. Horrible customer service.. wait times over an hour. Even longer on the texting chat messaging. You have to jump through long hoops to cancel. Had a tech coming out to install new equipment and they confirmed via text the day prior. However they were a no call- no show. I took the day off for that. I called the next day and they said their tech called out. Would've been nice to know. I am not sure how they run a business but this is not it. Their Customer Service is the worst possible: 1. It takes about 1 to 2 hours to answer a phone call 2. You are forced to hear for hours their "commercial" that says "They were elected the best costumer service by...." 3. Ever since Brinks bought out my alarm co, I have been very unhappy. First the old co (Arco Lock and Security...with their new parent, Entern... who I will also be reviewing) said the cell unit had to be changed due to 5g, and therefore thre panel would have to be changed out too. It would cost over $600, or I could sign a new contract for 3 years. I had been with them for 10 years, but was not happy about a contract. They promised there would be no increase in monthly monitoring.  New contract arrived via docu-sign, (which I disapprove of for security and hard to read reasons), from Entern and Arco with correct monthly amt. This was the first time I knew of Entern's involvement, too.  New install went well. Then  I began getting emails and calls from Brinks wanting to be sure I knew that they were my new alarm co, and that I would be paying them and not the old co... and did I agree... on a recorded line. I did not. Several calls were exchanged... thought it was resolved. Then I receive my auto- paid bill... from Brinks... for over the contracted amt. Several more calls and a couple of guesses by Arco ensued. Bottom line, Brinks says they are allowed by law to charge back the customer for money they pay for infrastructure and Gov fees they are charged. Above customers contacted amts. Allowed...not required, and according to them that amt is entirely up to them and does not require customer knowledge or approval. Now that I've been tricked into a contract by them, I am apparently stuck. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am currently on hold again... I have been on and off hold for 4 hours this morning. I am just trying to cancel my account at this point but they want to charge me $3000 for the remainder of a contract I didn't even sign. Why do I want to cancel? 3 of my 4 door sensors don't work and they keep sending the wrong replacements and charging me for them. Then sending the return labels to an email I have told them again and again I don't have access to. On top of that, my security panel (2 weeks ago) changed to the French language. No one in technical support can help me fix it. This is all on top of the wait time to even speak to someone which is 1-2 hours and that is if you don't get disconnected which you often do. The number they give you to text also has 1-2 hour wait times for someone to text you back. Everyone is clueless and undertrained. Horrible. This company needs to be sued and shut down! read more

I am appalled by Brink's TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have needed a new sensor installed for over a month. They have canceled both appointments (each made one week prior) saying they don't have a tech that can arrive. Notice this... Any rave reviews are only relating to installation. Translation: Brink's is all about getting you contracted and a paying customer. All the bad reviews are for contract servicing. The person that came out to get a new system from our old ADT system said he would cancel with ADT and had me write a letter to them to end our service. The letter was sent back to me as undeliverable. Then we were told that we would be reimbursed for the extra month we paid with ADT. Never received the reimbursement. I texted him on November 14th and was told "the check is in the mail". It is now Dec 3rd and still no check. I wish I would have just stayed with ADT. Now we are stuck in a contract. read more

Very difficult to deal with. Had a three year contract with Envision who sold out to Brinks who now says it was a five year contract. The automation equipment does not work and for them to replace it they want to add 36 more months to the contract. So I can pay for equipment that does not work for 18 more months or I can get it fixed and pay for 54 more months. The last equipment didn't last three years so why would I think the new stuff would? I spent over an hour on the phone with them and got nowhere. Not to mention that for them to come repair/replace equipment they are scheduling 3 to 4 weeks out. Avoid this company. read more

Only one star, it could be negative 10. Worst alarm company on the plant. Won't call you back, won't respond to alarm going off. Keep changing you after you have canceled service. Took me three attempts and 8 phone calls to cancel them. Then they have to send you an email to sign and send back to them, never received the email, called 4 more times. This place is a joke!! I bought my first house in January, and this guy came to my door selling a security system to me saying that someone down the street had an intruder on Christmas day. They convinced me to do a 3 year contract with them. I do not use this system at all. The Arlo cameras that were included 2 have stopped working and I have contacted Arlo support they have failed to replace these cameras. I pay 60$ a month for a system that has been untouched and there is no way out of my contract other than paying them +$2000. This guy saw a girl who was in over her head and took advantage of it. I do mind the system not working and when I edited on phone for 45 minutes and eventually getting someone on the line to help with tech support. I have had Brink's for several years and I was actually looking to upgrade my service to include some outdoor cameras-- then I tried to contact them. So far I have been trying to contact them for a couple of weeks. Hold times have been over an hour to get someone, then when you do get someone they tell you that you are at the wrong department and put you on hold again. This repeats indefinitely until the business closes for the day, at which time you will remain in the hold queue indefinitely.
