Garden from my room. Wonderful place to take in the sun.

I landed in the afternoon tired from travel. Stayed at Courtyard Marriot minutes from Logan. I was happy to not have to leave the hotel. This restaurant was onsite. The clam chowder was excellent. I had a cup thinking I would eat a burger too. Silly me! The chowder was thick and hearty. I could have stopped there but the burger looked too good. Patricia was great! Wonderful service and a Red Sox and Celtics game on two big screen televisions in front of me. Calm ambiance. Great place to chill out by yourself or with friends.

This restaurant is located downstairs in the lobby area at the Courtyard Marriott Boston Logan Airport. It is a warm and cozy location, and staff are professional and personable. We stayed at the Courtyard, so it was very convenient to have this restaurant located at the hotel. I figured since the restaurant was located at the hotel that we could order room service, but unfortunately room service was not an option. We called the restaurant and ordered some food to go then picked it up. We ordered 3 lobster rolls and 3 New England Clam Chowders. We received a call that our order was ready within 15 - 20 minutes after ordering. We were happy that it didn't take too long because we were starving. The pick up process was simple. We went to the bar area at the restaurant and found that our order was already packaged and waiting. The attendant quickly rang up our takeout order and processed my payment. They were all friendly and professional. The New England Clam Chowder was thick and rich just as I like it. It could've used a little black pepper and maybe a pinch of salt but otherwise it was good. The lobster roll was fresh, and the lobster was cooked well. The lobster could have definitely used some more seasoning and perhaps some herbs; nevertheless, the texture of the lobster was perfect. There was also a decent portion of lobster. The combination of lobster roll with fries made it a fulfilling meal.

Nice bartender. The chowder was very good. The Caesar had too much dressing and the chicken (+$8) had a funky burned taste. The draft beer was also funky. Needs to be cleaned.

Good strong drinks, even though in Boston you can't do "doubles" you can do a drink and a shot. 3 stars for very very very very slow service. To be seated, even at the bar, to service for 1 drink was close to 30min+ - don't get me wrong, SUPER friendly but just so slow. Didn't have any food but seems straight forward pub American style, not made in house.

We arrived at around 1030pm on a Saturday to check in to the Marriott hotel, where the restaurant is. We were tired & starving & hoping for a quick & decent bite. Turns out, our server Patricia was super friendly, & the food here very good. The bar was pretty busy, & people were getting takeout too. Patricia thoughtfully seated us at a larger booth so we had room to pull up our luggage. When we told her we were starving & asked if we could order as she seated us, she was ready to go! Literally 5 minutes later, we had a big bowl of hot creamy delicious chowder to share in front of us, with 2 spoons & 2 packets of oyster crackers. Barely 10 minutes after that, & we each had a big, stuffed with lightly mayo'd lobster, lobster roll with sides of melted butter, hot, crispy sweet potato fries & ketchup in front of us. Patricia was on top of her game - checking on us, refilling waters, and being warm & friendly. Amazing service, & very good food! Perfect!

Met 4 colleagues at The Red Fox for dinner, a recommendation from a friend of my colleague. Tough to find initially and very unsuspecting upon arrival. As you enter the front door (think like walking into a foyer of a small apartment building) you go down a flight of stairs into the restaurant. Then wow, this place is awesome! Small entry way into the restaurant with a hostess immediately greeting you. The bar is your first view of the place and it was packed. I'd describe it as dimly light, great atmosphere and ambience, almost a speakeasy feel. I'd recommend a reservation. The hostess walked us to our table, walking along the bar line with small 2-4 top tables to our left, we then turned left into the main dining room. 5 of us and we were seated at a horseshoe style table, plenty of room for up to 6 adults. Service was instant, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered cocktails and a couple apps. The drinks arrived along with bread service. They added small side plates with oils and olives, a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic as was the homemade bread. A unique twist with my cocktail (kettle one & soda), was the single ice cube that was a long rectangle cube that was so clear you couldn't see it! The cubes length was the same as the tall glass it was served in and didn't melt. For dinner I listened to our server who recommended the Chicken Parmigiana with a chefs twist using a vodka infused sauce, this dish was amazing! My colleagues all shared the same feelings that this meal was spectacular. Highly recommend The Red Fox!

Their martinis are always spot on. The Parmesan martini is shockingly good, especially as someone who doesn't like dirty Martinis. The spinach and ricotta appetizer with the sage butter is so good. Arancini was also good. Both times have had the vodka pasta, and the orrechiete. The first time the orrechiete was very al dente, so just asked to cook a little more during my second visit and it was perfect. Spaghetti al limone was a nice complement to the other two!

I didn't mind that much since it was actually pretty tight and cozy so it actually brought up the energy I think. We already had reservations, so we received a fairly quickly, and the white stuff were very professional and courteous. The food did not disappoint. The calamari came out fresh and hot. Crispy and the banana peppers gave it just the right heat. The marinara sauce paired well with it. The Lobster Fra Diavolo was done in a cute heart shaped, so that was delightful. Lobster was done perfectly and the slightly spicy sauce of the pasta paired beautifully. My favorite was actually the marsala. The Fusilli was done perfectly al dente and soaked in that delicious sauce that was flavorful and clung so well to the pasta. The chicken breast was well marinated and super tender and juicy. Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate to order this again next time.

Cafe Amaro....No Bene!…read more North End is one of my favorite Boston neighborhoods for Italian food especially Pizza. But this time, not so much! We walked in here on a Sunday afternoon and stopped at Cafe Amaro since they had open tables. The restaurant is very small probably about 10 or so tables. We sat right up against the kitchen which was warm since it was a bit chilly outside. After about 5-8 minutes went by our server came over and we asked to sample 2 glasses of wine. They were not good at all. After tasting one more we finally landed on the Chianti. We then waited longer to place our order which was the Prosciutto and Fig pizza. I also ordered a soda water with lemon which never came. Note: there are 2 servers and I believe 1 speaks English but I am not 100% sure. Once our server finally came over my husband had to remind him of the soda water which he proceeded to say "we only have large bottles." Ok, thanks for letting me know since the other server/busser did not. Does he work here? Does he know the menu? Why wouldn't he tell me this the first place? Our pizza finally came and even after ordering it well done it was still floppy and flimsy to the point when everytime we went to pick up the slice everything fell off...UGH! I don't know how in the North End this place gets by or survives? Maybe they were having an off day? I do see other reviews that had better experiences than ours. Maybe they were short on staff? If that was the case then say something because I probably would've had more patience and understanding if this was the case. BTW, Our server NEVER came over after ordering our wines and pizza. He never asked "how is everything?" NEVER... I also rarely give one/two stars to restaurants but this was despicable and I really hope this is not their norm. All I have to say is there are so many other better restaurants in the North End to go to, but Cafe Amaro is not one of them.

I made a Valentine's Day reservation at Alcove several days in advance. Not last minute. Not a…read morewalk-in. I specifically booked it for the view. One of the main selling points of this restaurant is the glass wall overlooking the Zakim Bridge and the sunset. That was the entire reason we chose it. We arrived and were immediately seated in a dark corner with no windows and absolutely no view. Meanwhile, the main dining room was maybe 30% full at best. Plenty of open tables. And we're tucked into a shadowy corner like we asked for the overflow section. I walked up to the host stand and waited about five minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. When they finally did, I politely asked if we could move to the main dining room since we reserved specifically for the view. They said no problem. Three minutes later, they moved us. To the only tiny high-top table in the entire main dining room that had no view. The table was sandwiched between the entrance and the dining area, directly in front of one of the only solid walls in the restaurant. Everywhere else had glass and scenery. We had drywall. For context, I wore a suit. My partner wore a gorgeous silk dress with heels. We were clearly dressed for a real Valentine's dinner and more formal than most of the guests in the room. This was a rare night out for us. We're parents to a 6-year-old and a 1-year-old. We secured childcare. We made the effort. My partner insisted we just make the best of it since we don't get out much. So I decided to move forward and focus on the food and drinks. We ordered the Cherry Noir. It tasted like a cup of tart cherry juice and bitters with a splash of tequila hiding somewhere in the background. It took us the entire meal to finish it. That was our first and only drink of the night. We ordered the lobster ravioli with "fried plantain" for $50. The plantains looked and tasted like plantain chips from a local convenience store. The ravioli had almost no flavor, and the lobster somehow had even less. I had to use the salt and pepper from the table just to wake it up. We also ordered the 16 oz ribeye for $80. On top of that, we paid $20 for a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. The ribeye was the best part of the meal, but the bar was already in hell. It was a regular, nothing-special cut of steak covered in another underwhelming sauce. Again, salt and pepper came to the rescue. To finish, we ordered their Neapolitan flan for $30. It was the most basic-looking and basic-tasting dessert I've had at a restaurant period. No creativity. No presentation. An insult for dessert. All in, we paid just over $250. For that price point on Valentine's Day, you expect an experience. You expect attention to detail. You expect food that doesn't need table salt to carry it. You definitely expect the view you reserved days in advance when the restaurant isn't even close to full capacity. This was easily the worst Valentine's date my partner and I have had in our entire relationship. The only saving grace was the fact that I'm blessed with someone who appreciates our own vibe enough to shrug off poor service and forgettable food. But as for Alcove, never again!
