It was only a year or so ago that Drew came to our home to put that very same dryer drum belt back on after it popped off after I turned the drum manually. That was actually Lesson #1 in Proper Dryer Loading Etiquette because who knew that dryer drum belts were such sensitive manufactured parts? As he did that first time, Drew arrived ahead of our appointment time, quickly set to work and rapidly finished the job. And as part of the service, he cleared out the lint trap below the dryer drum. Manning's has been our sole major appliance repair service for a long time. Look at my previous reviews. I mean, REALLY look at them. I've been posting about them since 2015 which is when I started writing reviews on Yelp. We actually first called them about a year or two before that. Drew might do warranty repairs on appliances but if not, well the best thing about a warranty running out is that while you'll have to pay for the service call, you get to entrust your appliance to Drew for an expert repair. In our experience, warranty repair service companies have always been hit and miss. Drew's always dependable and his work is top notch. Do we like spending money on repairs for malfunctioning appliances? Not a chance. Do we enjoy having Manning's Appliance Service as our go-to for making those repairs? You bet.

So, warm milk and ice cream you needed a jackhammer to cut it. We called Bill's and Jake or Jay (sorry my hearing isn't good) answered with a pleasant greeting. He explained that Bill could stop by in a couple of days to diagnose the issue. FANTASTIC! We didn't expect anyone to answer the phone let alone schedule an emergency visit within days. Bill was on time a pleasant event at what we assumed to be the end of his workday. He defrosted the freezer compartment and diagnosed the problem as a bad computer board. The culprit board arrived in a few more days; Bill retired to install it. Everything was back to normal for a few days but Jake/Jay called us to say that they had a second computer board that they had discovered our refer requires to operate properly. Bill was out again and installed the second board. Amazing follow through and caring service. Above and beyond expectations. The value? Well considering the cost of a similar new refrigerator we spent about 10%. If we get another 17 years out of our fridge that is an amazing value. And, even if we only get 5 more years, that's all a new refer is expected to last. Beyond a doubt Bill helped us defer a substantial cost and we kept another old fridge out of the landfill or ocean.

In fact, I've called on him 3 times to address different issues with our dishwasher, and two times he did not charge me despite taking time out of his day to visit and/or speak to me over the phone (once the issue was the brand of pod I was using--which he diagnosed & explained again over the phone, and he was right). He's also prompt, always coming when he says & one time even coming same day when he had the part in stock. He is just lovely, honest, trustworthy, and truly an expert. Jeff picked up the phone right away, asked some simple questions that inspired me to open up my leaky washer and identify the parts that needed replacing. I called him back the next day, told him the parts that need replacing and he came over the following day with replacements. Unlike the other place where they replaced the parts and left (and it kept on leaking), Jeff went through a long post-service diagnostic to make sure the washer wasn't leaking after the parts were installed. It's not well advertised, but his service and parts are guaranteed for 1 year! He was more expensive than the other place but he replaced more parts and did more to ensure it was a good fix. I would gladly call on him again if there was another appliance problem in the house!

This business might be a scam. They have come out to fix our refrigerator twice - and no complaints…read morethere. But - the same problem persisted weeks after the second fix. I didn't get any confirmation, so I called again and got the answering machine. I called back from a 503 number and low and behold, I finally talk to someone. They said that I have an appointment (tomorrow at 1PM). I saw something like - 'I must have missed the confirmation message' but there was none. The next day transpires and it is a no-call no-show. It is the absolute worst customer service I have ever had. I left a final message saying it seems like you are screening your calls and not responding to me for what I can only think is you don't want to have to fix the repair you made that did t work. Then my wife started calling again and again... got someone that said they would 'transfer her to accounting' -- HAHA! There is no 'accounting department' - what a scam. I just can't believe you were just so bad at every aspect and interaction. All the calls, the messages unreturned, no confirmation for the visit, the no-call no-show, how easy it was to get a hold of you from a different 503 number, and then the lie about the accounting department. How are you even in business?
