I've been going here for many years and have always had a favourable experience. My favourite gift request is gift certificates for Brilliant Nails. i always get the service I requested. My only issue might be the non-English conversation which seems to be the norm in Asian salons. read more

dropped off the GF for a nail job. only saving grace is there was a Boston Pizza next to kill the 2 1/2 wait. they did a good job, but there are slow. read more

I've been here a couple of times because their prices are good, but it's definitely not worth it. My nails did not look like what I asked for, they broke and lifted after a week and a half and I genuinely felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. read more

Viviana is absolutely amazing !!! Came for my wedding nails and she went above and beyond ! Added some of her own touches, which turned out to be better than my original plan! She took her time and had such a gentle touch ! Highly recommended! read more

not only did they break my nail while removing my old acrylics, but they skipped several important steps for prepping the nails i already know these nails arent gonna last long, and for the price i paid it was definitely not worth it. the products and tools they use are cheap and to top it all off it definitely wasnt the cleanest salon out there, i don't recommend this place to anyone read more

I went in and it was empty in the middle of the day on a Thursday. That should have been a clue. She took me in right away for acrylic nails. Right off the bat, there are no colours to choose from but she already started on my nails so I didn't want to be rude and thought to give this place a chance, big mistake. My nails are NOT the same length nor the shape i asked for. The girl that did my nails was rushing me out, so the colour on top is sheer still. My cuticles were not cut nor were they pushed back so after 2 weeks it looks like I have not had a fill in 4 weeks Would not recommend read more

Great rates and customer service! I realize that every manicure/pedicure experience is individual. However, that being said, I visited this salon regularly for 2 years for gel nails from the manager, Pearl - and she was phenomenal! On a few occasions, someone else had to do my nails and I wasn't as happy with the quality. I have since moved across the city - so a 45 minute drive to and from every 2 weeks for a manicure isn't in the cards for me anymore. I do miss Pearl and our lovely conversations and dishing on all the best Vietnamese and asian restaurants and shops in town! If you live on the NE end of Edmonton - this place is worth your time - and I highly recommend you request Pearl! read more

Rude, over priced and they don't do a good job. It's Northside ... a pedicure shouldn't cost $75.

I have been to many nail salons similar to Brilliant Nails but this was by far my best experience. My mother and I came in for pedicures, we both had the Spa Pedicure which is $50.00. A steal of a deal!!! Mai did mine and she was amazing. Best leg massage I have ever had, I loved the "spa" part which included exfoliation, cooling gel and a seaweed mask. Mai and the girl doing my moms were friendly, chatting amongst themselves and with us. I will absolutely without a doubt be going back! read more

Very happy with my nails. I got acrylic with a gel overlay, I went to see Hanh this morning and she was excellent. She asked me multiple times if I was okay with my shape & length, which I appreciate. Hanh also cleaned up my cuticles and used a pineapple scented oil on them at the end which was wonderful. Highly recommend Hanh or Helen! Photos show natural light & flash. read more

I got red shellac nails done, they look good from afar but up close not so much.. The gentleman didn't push the cuticle back so it looks slightly out grown. He didn't go all the way to the side of the nails, and a few are missing bits at the tip of the nail like it was chipped.. Yet the clear polish is over it? They asked if I'd like cuticle care and to clean up my finger nails (fly away bits of skin), I said yes but they didn't do it..? Not sure why. He was sloppy with polish at the beginning and end. He went over the sides where my skin is, also under my nail where my skin is. He also slightly filed me nails, not cut them. Some are to long for my liking. Also one is oddly shaped because I broke it the day before and filed it with out care. Yet he didn't feel the urge to fix it.. When I go to a nail salon I expect them to AT LEAST cut my nails. Not ask if I'd like cuticle care and them not give it.. Would I go back? Absolutely not. Would I recommend someone to get their nails done from there? Absolutely not. Go but don't expect the basics.. Or a good job.. My mom and I go to Vo's Nails on Manning Drive. When you're there they at least push the cuticle back... read more

I have been sitting in this chair with my feet in lukewarm water for 45 minutes. No one has even touched my feet yet. Even if they do the best job ever I would not recommend nor will I be back. read more

Beautiful work really pretty nails. Insanely expensive $99 for a pedi with gel nail Polish is ridiculous never going back.

My friend & I came here at 705 on a snowy day and wanted a quick pedicure, they closed at 730 and they were so kind to let us in!! I was so happy with the selection of colors, i decided to get gel nail polish on my toes for the first time! My friend said its awesome so i decided to do it, really well impressed with the selection of colors. I believe i had the owner that did my feet. she was so kind. Not much of a massage was done at all, she rubbed lotion on my leg and that was it. I assume it was bc we were late etc. I had a silver gel nail polish on my finger from another salon i visited earlier in the day and was hopnig she could go over it with this awesome silver glittery one i found! She didnt hesitate, she said yes. She did one layer for me which was awesome. I got to the till though........ this was the surprise.. i was expecting 35 bucks for the pedicure. So it rcame to 68$. She said she charged me 5 bucks to do the one layer on two of my nails... and she said its 35 for regular polish SO i guess its 25 extra dollars for gel polish!! INSANE!! i was seriously annoyed, my friend and i looked at one another like wth.... so here i am today, almost 70 bucks out just for them to put some polish on my feet and not really massage them or anything.. i'm sad bc i liked the selection of colors, but that was just way to pricy for me!! read more

Hi My daughter, myself and a friend go here once a month for manicures and about every two months for pedicures we find the girls there very good and friendly prices are reasonable.. Van is my personal favourite worker there. There seems to be a couple of bad reviews about a guy there that was rough and unfriendly I don't believe he is still there My daughter had him once and had to tell him to stop as he was too rough Other than him the staff is great would highly recommend read more

Worst. Nails. Ever. I paid over $80 for a set of gels that started chipping and flaking off within 2 days. I went back and got my first flawed nail "fixed" where I was told to stop picking my nails . . I have been getting gels for years and have never picked them or have had this problem at all. The top coat of gel has come right the sides of 4 of my nails. My nails look like I painted them myself without my glasses on . . Awful! I went home for the holidays with hideous looking nails :/ I should mention too that on my second visit there I met disgruntled customers as well . . The first had waited almost an hour (she had an appointment), the second had a botched nail job and it was her second visit to get it fixed and lastly, I met a woman on the way out that was there for an appointment as well she said she had been told twice to come back in a half hour after she had an appointment booked. I won't be going back and I hope this saves someone from wasting their time and money there. read more

I went in for a simple manicure, no gel or anything. I just like to get a polish once in a while to treat myself. The woman who did my nails did not cut my cuticles until I asked her to, the water my nails were in was nearly freezing and I had to ask for it to be changed. The woman accidentally chipped one of my nearly dry nails when I was getting a top coat. This would not have been a big deal except when I asked for it to be fixed, I got an eye roll. She asked if I wanted a design on my ring finger nails and I said yes, she painted a very pretty flower on each and attached a gem to the centre. However... She used top coat to attach the gem. Since when is top coat any sort of glue??? I paid full price for the manicure regardless of all of this because everything I was not pleased with was fixed. Naturally, the top-coated on gem popped off ten minutes after I left and smudged the flower on my nail. I ended up going to the pharmacy to try and match the polish as opposed to going back, in hindsight I should have gone back and asked for my money back but at the time I was too pissed about my ruined nail. I will never step foot in this place again. An obvious lack of skill, snotty employee and bad experience have caused me to look elsewhere. read more

I used to go here often but the work has gotten increasingly sloppy. Nails are often different shapes and sizes, and chip in days. The guy who did my nails today literally hurt me, the way he was twisting my fingers and pulling on my arms. Whenever he was done with a hand he would shove it towards me to get me to put it under the lamp. Simply pointing or asking would have sufficed. The staff stand around and talk in a different language. I hate when they stand over you and talk. Go elsewhere. read more

Went in March 28th for my wedding nails now I am having to go else where because they look like crap. big thick uneven ugly nails and I told them it was for my wedding. I will never go back to this place as long as I live and would never recommend it to another person. read more

I love this salon. The staff are all friendly...have been here for pedicures, manicures and eyebrow, chin, lip waxing. This past week I broke a nail...they were able to repair it, at no charge, as if the break wasn't even there!!! Thought I'd have to have all my nails clipped and start growing them from the beginning again!! Had a beautiful Christmas design put on my nails that got many ooo's and ahhh's from people...going to let them do a design for my upcoming cruise...can't wait!! read more

I used to go here regularly but the work has gotten so sloppy that I have bailed and found another salon to go to. My last experience was with nail tips that were so sloppily done that I had to go back in one week because they were lifting so badly. Again the same thing happened, lifting and peeling within a week. The pricing was too high as well. What really gets me at this place is that I always bring my own polish (before I had tips) and if I ask to have my ring finger done in a different color (which I bring) they still charge and extra $5 per nail!!! The same goes for the pedicure, the spa pedicure with the non-existant massage is just extra money and not at all "spa-like" I like the girls they were all very nice but the price gouging and lack of skill has me spending my money elsewhere. read more

I just came back from Brilliant Nails and I have to say I am soooo happy with the outcome. I had gotten artificial nails done before at another place and it was so painful and rushed that I was apprehensive to go back to any other place. That being said, Brilliant Nails as recommended by Kristin was awesome! The technician took her time and used hand filing as much as she could and was very gentle with the dremel. It was very great experience and I'll definitely be back! read more

Worst customer service ever. The "guy" that did my nails was so rude. Since they speak a different language, it's so hard for me to understand him. So whenever i mishear it, he'd act annoyed. He also keep pushing my fingers. I actually had like 4 fingers bleed, im not even kidding. Like seriously he's rude and mean. And he acts in a rush that the force in my fingers/hand is so hard. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO A DIFFERENT NAIL SHOP. read more

I've gone to brilliant nails for almost 3 years.. I've never had CONTINUOUS terrible service at one place in my life. Every single time I come here and book an app. I never get in on time. I ALWAYS wait MINIMUM of 20 minutes WITH APPOINTMENT. I currently just traveling to get my nailed done from out of town, I've been waiting on this couch for over 45 minutes now, when I walked in the lady (Kim) said she would be done within 20 minutes.. After 45 minutes I asked how much longer she said 20 minutes.. Aka meaning over a hour. They also over charge and charge a different price every single time I come here. Terrible quality and service, overall.. You might as well bite your nails and get a child to paint them before coming here and wasting your time. read more

I used to love this place for my monthly pedicure, but starting last year (2014) I noticed that the quality gradually got worse every time. They started putting less applications of polish and started getting really sloppy with the pedicure. I was there in the fall of 2014 and while I was there, a couple ladies came in (they had an appt and were on time) and they sat and waited because the staff took a walk in party of 3 just prior to the people who booked an appt. They were so mad, understandbly so and the staff didn't bat an eye. I went again last week with an appt and had the exact same thing happen to me. The staff don't care, and had no remorse or understanding why this is upsetting. I ended up spending 1.5 hours in a massage chair that had exposed rollers and a towel was the only protection between me and these scary rollers. All I left with was a nail trim and polish because I didn't have the patience to wait any longer. They even charged me $15 for that. I should have just walked out. Then when I asked to speak with a manager or someone in charge they conveniently don't understand or maybe ther isn't anyone in charge.. which is the problem in the first place. I am not ever going back.. In my opinion, don't waste your time. There are plenty of other places that are the same price in the area without the hassle. read more
