I must say thankfully my husband trusts me and gives me a reasonable budget, but finding high quality window coverings that actually look great is always stressful. Until I found CoveringWindows Shutters, Blinds, Shades, Drapes and Curtains At our first consult I felt like I had a design partner, not a salesperson. They gave smart practical advice. Turns out they had like 20 years experience and helped me cover large windows and doors. They showed me options for app-controlled shades with timers, I bought four , they are rechargeable and fun to use. Their installer was professional and tidy. So let me say if you live in Ashburn, Leesburg, Reston, or anywhere in northern Virginia I would use these guys , I wouldn't go anywhere else.

The Made in the Shade of Northern Virginia owners, John and Dana Briggs, have been happily married for almost 25 years, and residents of Prince William County for all those years. John was born and raised in Northern Virginia, while Dana hails from the Garden State of New Jersey. Between us, we have over 70 years of living and working in Northern Virginia. We have two outstanding grown children, and we now reap the benefits of two productive and responsible adult children and five adored grandchildren. After a rewarding 35-year career in telecommunications, John decided to retire and start a business that would permit him greater flexibility and time to build a business, and investment in community. He began searching for an opportunity to change course, but it had to be a perfect fit. That is when he came across Made in the Shade and the journey began. We really enjoy solving our client's issues with privacy and lighting while delivering exquisite window décor. At Made in the Shade of Northern Virginia, we offer some of the finest window coverings in the industry. Our favorite vendors include Norman, Graber, Alta, Horizons, Insolroll, Rainier, and Tableaux. We meet with all our clients in the convenience and comfort of their home. What better way to exhibit the many fabulous products that we sell?...

They showed up on time and completed it without any problems, we could not be happier with them. The largest national brand didn't follow through, couldn't get return calls to questions. Econize was night and day better service.

Not only were they horribly expensive, but they took absolutely forever to get me a quote (who has time to sit there for 2+ through their presentation of how they're the best?!). They are proud to admit they're the most expensive, and then they move onto the used car salesman tactics of 'let me ask my manager' and 'if we go any lower than that we'll be taking money out of our employees pockets' and 'if you order today we'll give you 30% off!' typical pressure tactics. I said thank you and asked them to leave. That's when I found Econize! They were extremely respectful of my time, and showed me a 3D mock up of my closets within minutes. They offered an extremely reasonable price (less than half of what closet America quoted for 1 closet). Once I hired them for the work, they showed up perfectly on time, exactly on the day we agreed on, and their workers were very respectful and left my house clean. The work is gorgeous and exactly what i had envisioned! I will absolutely be recommending them to everyone I know and using them in the future! Thank you so much for being a good company, with a great work ethic, who do fantastic work, and most importantly have reasonable prices!

I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.
