I moved into a one bedroom condo with large reach-in closets and needed help coming up with a closet solution that would be a worthwhile investment. I did a lot of research prior to choosing Econize- including DIY options and installation and other closet design companies. I really didn't want to settle for something I didn't absolutely love, but I couldn't really come up with the vision I wanted by myself and was willing to spend a little more to get something that was good quality and exactly what I wanted. I chose Econize because they were locally based, had great looking designs on their website, and had fair prices. I worked with Michael and David who assisted with my closet consultation and design. They listened to the things that I wanted and did a great job designing a closet that fit my needs. I did a lot of adjusting after the first couple of designs came in, adjusting the heights and widths of the shelves to fit my needs and also to achieve the symmetry that I wanted. David came and did the final consultation and we sat down and went through the design piece by piece on his laptop and adjusted it right there on the spot, by the time he left I had a print out of my new closet that I absolutely loved! During the consultation, David was very responsive to my requests, and helped me put all the things I needed into the design and move things around until I was happy. I definitely had cost restraints, and wanted a nice closet that I could afford without pricey finishes that I didn't need. I appreciated that there was no pressure when I wanted to take out items that would reduce the cost, and no pressure to add on items or finishes I didn't really want or need. I redid a large 8 foot reach in closet and a smaller coat closet, the installation was quick and the product was great, they were in and out of my apartment in an hour and they closets look great and are very good quality- and I think it was definitely a great investment for my condo! read more

It went well beyond our already high level expectations. From the time we met with Dan Bellor at the showroom, we were helped through the material selection, design and installation process with all questions answered immediately. Trent Hillaert quickly measured our space very accurately; and using his laptop and 3-D software, Trent designed the space to our directions. We were able to experiment with different options and layouts. That only took about 2 hours in our home. At the end of it, we had realistic renderings of what the end result would look like. Jack and Dan installed the cabinets in less than 3 hours and the end result looks just like the renderings. No surprises! The end result is beautiful! The accuracy of the work is really excellent. The cabinets are fit so perfectly, that we can't slide a piece of paper between the header/crown at the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. Everything is solidly mounted; and they took great care in drilling to insure no damage to our pipes or electrical panel. Additionally, we have interior corners that are greater than 90 degrees; and they were able to adapt the design such that the problem doesn't even show. Because of the tremendous volume of cabinet pulls and accessories, Econize can't possibly stock everything. So they encouraged us to look at accessory suppliers for those items. We wanted some very special cabinet pulls and coat hangars. They were kind enough to install them for us; and even came back after their installation to do so because the hardware ordered from another company didn't arrive on time. They are very efficient and knowledgeable, conscientiously helpful, and more than competent. Add honest and cordial and that pretty well sums up our experience. We could not be more pleased. We are delighted and will start our next closet with Econize shortly. If you want a stress and issue free experience, consider these guys. They are the best! read more

I have used Econize closets over 6 times. In every single time i do admire their responsiveness and customer service. From the initial contact to order process to installation everything is seamless. At the very last house that i built once again i did decide to go with Econize closets with out any doubt. They do listen to your ideas and do suggest their own suggestions, Since they are the ones who design and install thousands of closets every year their knowledge on closets in unbeatable. In the very last project which was my own house i had the honor to work with one of their designers called Trend, he was very in detail oriented and came twice to recheck the measurements since the first time he came drywall wasn't installed. He did turn around the drawings with in couple days and the whole order/production took less then 3 weeks!! For industry standard it is a great turn around time. Their installation crew is also very knowledgeable and caring of their products and your house. The master bedroom closet has refinished mahogany hardwood floors so they did cover everything prior to installation and completed all the installation with in the same day. The master closet is over 450 square feet so finishing up all the installation in a day is very impressive. They adjusted all the doors and drawers cleaned up after themselves. As a builder i do get minimum 3 quotes for every task of construction and i am proud to say that when it comes to built in closet systems i don't waste any of time to get any other quote then Econize closets. Econize did an outstanding job from start to finish. David Townsend, Econize designer, worked with us to design a master bedroom closet that maximized the space and provided us with more than enough shelving, drawers, hanging. Within a couple hours of seeing the closet, he presented a 3-D rendering of the new closet and we tweaked the design with him. He was extremely knowledgeable as a designer and really maximized the space that we had. We also visited their showroom to see all the finishes and was able to better visualize how our closet would look. We got 3 other competing closet designs/quotes and Econize not only had one of the best prices, but their customer service and flexibility were unparalleled. We never felt pressured to buy from them (which I can't say about the other closet companies) and David's personable nature really sealed the deal for Econize. David was also able to turn-around the closet in less than 2 weeks due to a customer cancellation which was about 1/2 the time the other closet companies were quoting. 2 days before the closet installation, David called to confirm the time of the install. The installers arrived exactly at the time they said they would and completed the closet installation in less time than they originally told us (4 hrs vs 5-7 hrs). The took very careful care to not damage any walls, doors, or furniture and cleaned up after themselves. They were absolutely professional and demonstrated all the features of our new closet before they left. After the they left, David called again to make sure everything went well. My husband and I recently bought our first home (a townhouse) and decided we wanted to maximize storage space in the smallish kitchen by building a pantry. Container Store shelving just didn't seem appealing, so we figured a custom unit would be best, especially since it's an oddly shaped space. I consulted with 3 companies and Econize was the second. It was a joy to work with them from the initial phone call to the installation several weeks later. Anthony, the designer, came to our house and patiently went through a couple different design options with me. I was very impressed that he was able to show me his designs in 3D on his laptop in a matter of minutes. Anthony was pleasant to work with and very friendly. We chatted a while about my infant son (his wife is having a baby soon too). I was very comfortable with him and the Econize product after he left. He even sent a handwritten note a couple days later thanking me for the opportunity to earn my business. Great customer service - something the other two companies lacked. We were able to set up the installation for 2 weeks later - not too bad. Dan and two of his installers arrived promptly at 8am (when they said they would) and were done in one hour's time. We couldn't be happier with the product, it matches the design and our expectations exactly. Very affordable too for something custom. The staff at Econize are true professionals, and if you hire them for your job, you won't be disappointed. Last year, my wife and I bought a 1980 Colonial in Manassas that needed some cosmetic surgery. ;) As we brainstormed ideas for our Guestroom/Craftroom/2ndOffice we knew we'd need to think outside the box to maximize space we needed. A murphy bed seemed like the perfect solution so I began comparing reviews and prices online, mostly through Yelp. Thank God I listened to the reviews! Econize was the perfect company for the job. They gave me lots of information over the phone but, when I wanted to speak with someone face to face and see the product in person, I found out their showroom was very close-by in Clifton. Everyone at Econize was great, from our sales-rep, Mike, to Dan, his manager (who really worked with us on the price), to owners Noel and Paul (who incidentally was our installer too!). Paul had an assistant with him, John, and later his brother Dan, who both were also great. These guys all really care about quality workmanship and your entire customer experience. They are friendly, accommodating, flexible and humble. When a minor measurement error was discovered at time of installation (necessitating cutting into our crown molding a bit), Paul installed a classy edging around the top of the Murphy bed cabinet to give it a finished look (free of charge). The thorough follow-up we received ensured us that their job wasn't finished until we were happy, and all this for the lowest price out there! Attentive, reliable, organized, and professional with a high quality product. I worked with Econize to design and purchase a customized closet system for a master bedroom reach-in closet. I originally consulted a different, larger ("name brand") company and was very disappointed in their poor customer service. After reading reviews about Econize, I gave them a call and set up an appointment. Trent, the senior designer, was on time for the at-home appointment, knowledgeable, and attentive. He took the time to listen to what we wanted for our closet, explained various options, and was able to customize everything according to our needs. Mike, the design center manager, was equally attentive and helpful when we visited the design center to make decisions about things like drawer front, hardware, colors, etc. There were a few snags in installation due to the wrong materials being shipped, but the designers and the crew made everything as painless as possible and made sure we had a functioning closet at the time of our original installation date. The crew was friendly, efficient, and prompt! Prices are competitive with other closet companies and also very affordable. The closet system itself is very attractive, functions very smoothly (especially the drawers!), and fits our needs perfectly. Cannot rate them highly enough, and I'm so glad we found them on yelp! We just bought a new house and needed to replace the standard/cheap wire rack closets in the master and second bedroom with more customized storage solutions for all our clothes. We found Econize on yelp and from start to finish the experience was wonderful! Trent came to our house for a consult for the master closet (which was initially all we were going to do) and he was so helpful in terms of listening to my needs and suggesting various options/a design that worked perfectly, and he helpfully let me know what options were less versatile/etc depending on my requirements. And I could see the 3D visualization on the spot, which was great in the design process. The whole thing went so well that we decided to also have them do the second closet, and Trent again was super patient and responsive in working through various options on that, and was really great in dealing with our indecisiveness and providing helpful guidance. The install day went flawlessly--the team was in and out in a few hours and even cleaned the entire area and the stairs of all debris from the install. Finally, I realized afterwards that an extra shelf would be helpful in one area, and they'll be sending me one free of charge. I used Econize recently for a closet in my son's room. He had a big closet but only one simple hanging rod and we needed more usable space and functionality in this closet. (Plus, he is about to be a big brother, so more stuff needs to fit in there!!). I called Econize and they promptly scheduled an appointment for an estimate. David did a great job for the evaluation and estimate. He listened to my wants and needs and made realistic suggestions about the whole process. He was very honest and also looked into other spaces in the house but did not try to "sell" me things that were not needed. His customer service was efficient, timely, and he was quick to send the proposal and always followed up with courteous emails and phone calls to be thorough. The demo and instillation was also flawless. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves, very informative, and also very efficient. The closet was installed within 1.5 hours and I felt very comfortable with the whole process. His closet now has drawers and shelves and also 2 hanging rods. And, there is space above the closet for more storage. I now have more space than I know what to do with-- a good problem to have! This is a five star company and my first Yelp review. I feel so strongly about Econize that I felt compelled to write a review. I wanted some cabinets in my laundry room and had researched quite a few companies. It was Econize that again and again had the top reviews. I rang and spoke to a gentleman and we set up an appointment. Everyone at Econize is completely professional and they are reasonably priced. My laundry room looks fantastic. My free estimate was with David--he arrived on time and was incredibly polite. He quickly came up with a design I loved and emailed it to me that day. I had some other work that needed to be done in the laundry room before the install. David was understanding and checked in with me every so often. He was perfect at being attentive but not intrusive or demanding. Once I was ready, David worked with me to get me on the schedule as soon as possible. The whole process was smooth and the install was great. This is an absolutely fantastic company and I will use them again--if you haven't seen their design/showroom you must check it out. I went down there when I had some time and it is awesome--so many great ideas to utilize your home space more efficiently. Great company and incredibly professional. Eco-nize Closets did 3 of our children's bedroom closets 4 years ago and it changed their (and our!) lives - it is a high quality product and the system is so flexible. It created so much for usable space and our children have been more organized and can find things so easily. We finally decided it was time for us to do our 2 master bedroom closets, so called Econize Closets this summer and they were as amazing as I remember. Working with Trent was excellent - a great listener about what we wanted and needed, helpful suggestions, came to my home for the consult at a time convenient for me, on site right then developed visuals for me to see what my closets would look like with the new system, we could tweak it then to see various options, emailed me a full proposal afterwards, followed up to see if I had questions, scheduled installation at my convenience. The installation was completed in just over an hour - PERFECT! They had done all their homework ahead of time, so that part was easy and accurate. I searched the Internet, read reviews and decided on Econize for our custom closet design. I had a design already drawn up and sent it to them for a rough estimate. Meg provided an estimate and was great to work with. We went to the Falls Church showroom for a consultation and were able to see sample closet designs and colors. Meg helped us with a design and offered suggestions and factors to consider. We decided on a design that was better than the one we had drawn up. On installation day, we heard from the installers to let us know they were on their way. The installation didn't take long, approximately 2 hours. There were no issues with the installation and we are very happy with the end result. (By the way, I had contacted another closet design company because my friend had a referral coupon. I sent them my closet design and never heard back from them.) We downsized from a very large closet to a much smaller one in our new house, but it's amazing how much fits when you maximize the space by customizing your closet. I highly recommend Econize. They were easy to work with, helpful in the consultation, the installation was efficient, and the results were great. We are satisfied customers! read more

We are absolutely thrilled with the service and products we received from Eco-Nize. From the initial phone call to schedule the in-home consultation to the go-back we just had today to swap out some cabinet hinges for the soft-close option, we received some of the best customer service I've ever had. Our designer David was prompt and walked us through all of our options after measuring all of our closet spaces. Then within 20-minutes, he had a full design with a price quote for us. David was also quick to make some adjustments to the design that we had requested after he left us, and within a day, we were scheduled for our installation. We had 4 closets and a mud room area completed. Paul and his installation team showed up right on time and went right to work. Within 3-4 hours of their arrival, they had setup, completed the installation, cleaned up, given me the grand tour, and were on their way. Our closets are so much more functional now, and they look fantastic! My wife and I just completed (well almost complete) the construction of a new house in Alexandria, VA. We have had to deal with numerous contractors and vendors and I can honestly say that my favorite was Econize. We love our new closet and the entire experience was flawless. Before meeting with Trent at Econize, we had met with a couple other well known closet companies. We heard about Closet America on the radio and met with them first. Closet America was very sales driven and pushy, and they immediately slashed their price after I balked at their initial ridiculous price. They then came down a couple more times to what I thought may have been a reasonable figure, and got "approval" from the sales manager. We actually signed the agreement, but soon cancelled the contract during their rescission period. Then we talked to California Closets, who was priced better, but couldn't really show us product, and were unorganized. Thankfully, we called Econize and met with Trent. He was not pushy at all and gave us a great price for a great product. The installation guys were very professional and did an excellent job too. AMAZING JOB! I contacted this company initially because of reviews just like this one. I was really happy with my experience. I wanted to give my wife a surprise b-day present and she has been dropping hints throughout the year about wanted a custom closet. I contacted eco-nize closets and they made an appointment with me. I got to meet Anthony, a brilliant young engineer that measured out my closet and had some ideas of what we could do for my wife. Everything was done in secretive so she would not find out. Anthony made up a really good walk in closet idea, and on my wife's bday while she was at work the crew came in and installed the design. It was absolutely painless, they came in and did their thing and left. The installers were really helpful and did such an amazing job. That evening when my wife came home from work I blindfolded her and brought her into her closet, removing the blind fold and telling her happy-birthday. She was in shock and amazed. She LOVES the closet. It was such an improvement from before. She told all her friends, and they all were shocked of not only the idea but the execution. The whole Econize team is a cohesive unit. The left hand does know what the right hand wants! From measure to installation these guys want to please anddo whatever it takes, they will put all of their efforts in it. They just finished a playroom for my client and it went so smoothly that my client could not believe they finished it so quickly and all according to plan. It was not a simple project, but they never blinked. This playroom had window seats throughout the perimeter of the room with locking drawers beneath each seat. There were locking cabinets and open shelving on the open wall areas. In addition they used slatwall to hang storage baskets. All of this design was perfectly measured and installed providing lots of storage for these 2 little boys with lots of toys. Our next Econize projects will be an office for this same client and also a mudroom for the back door entrance. They make changes to plans without any objections, they are very patient and professional. They make it so easy to visualize and have a very impressive showroom to view cabinet types, ideas and finishes. Please give this company a call if you want good value and service. read more

I first interviewed with Closet America. There was a lot of pressure to sign on same day in order to get the 20%discount they were running at the time (July). I had 3 business days to cancel, so I signed. Once I met with Anthony from econize, I decided to cancel my contract with Closet America (CA). The CA designer got very passive aggressive with me but in the end I got my deposit back. On the other hand, the Econize designer was super pleasant and to the point without rushing me. Gave me an option to sign right away or to think about it for a few days. No pressure. The price was a lot cheaper than CA and both offered great quality products. I went back and forth on the design before finalizing it and Anthony was very patient and helpful. Everyone I dealt with was super nice and courteous. They respond to emails right away. No sales gimmicks or pressure. The installation team came on time and were very quick. Took them an hour to install and clean up. I'm in love with the final product! If you're going to interview with Closet America, my advice would be to leave them for last, then make your decision. read more

Eco-Nize designed a reach-in and walk-in closet in a newly renovated master bedroom. Solid expertise, reasonably priced and quick install. There was an initial on-site visit where I got to see all the finish options and touch and feel the product. Then David Townsend took over the design. Created a 3D drawing and handled revisions very quickly by email. We didn't have a ton of space but David managed to maximize functionality. Everything fits, great organization and I even have some unused space which was a pleasant surprise. The installers were efficient and super nice. I think everyone must be a part-owner -- at least that's the impression they give you. Everyone was so invested in end-product and making you happy. It was a seamless process from start to finish. The hand-offs were clearly explained and I felt like each person had a niche expertise for the task they were handling. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Think I probably spent about the same as Container Store but have a much higher-end product and finished look. Extremely happy. read more
