My husband was referred to Dr. Freyne from our primary. I read her reviews but took them with a grain of salt. He's seen her twice so far and I've been there with him. Dr. Freyne is an excellent Doctor in my opinion. I've been to a handful of Rheumatologists and she is better than anyone in this area. She's very thorough and knows her stuff. She's straightforward and gets what needs to be done, done. She has given my husband great care. The office is clean and organized and the front desk woman is very helpful and sweet. So far the two nurses he's had were great too. The reason for the 4 is because it is VERY hard to get a hold of anyone in charge of the referrals and if you ask the front office to take a message they say they can't. I left 2 voicemails and never got a call back. Frustrated is an understatement. Overall I do recommend Dr. Freyne as a Rheumatologist. read more

Told me I had fibromyalgia, I had no idea what that was, how to treat it or if it COULD be treated, I didn't know if it was something that could be cured or treated with medication.. She literally just walked in the room said I had fibromyalgia and walked out.. that was it, I luckily had my caregiver and advocate there, because I was so confused and overwhelmed I just started crying... My caregiver walked into the hall and asked if she could explain more, she handed a pamphlet with details about a support group that meets at the office, but had no information on fibromyalgia itself.. and she left.. that was it. Honestly I don't care how many patients you have to see that day, that's on you and your staff for booking that many, we waited 3+ hours because she was behind, although I don't know how if she spends less than 2 minutes with each one... I have several health problems and have had several doctors have to tell me about a new illness/disorder/disease etc.. ALL at least took the time to explain what it was, I mean you'd think that would be obvious for a doctor to do, all took the time to explain basically everything about it AND a treatment or a way to make me more comfortable if not that very day, they made sure I had an appointment within 2wks to do that.. Never before had I had a doctor who gave me a diagnosis but nothing else and left me to basically just go home and do the 1 thing I try to never do and look up an illness online... I don't know how she still has patients, I guess some people just need medication and refills etc .. BUT IMHO if you're seeking a diagnosis, don't go to her.. I hope for other people's sake somehow I caught her on a VERY off day, if you can even call it that, but my experience with her was awful and as some know, when you have a lot of health problems and see a lot of specialists, therefore a lot of doctors, there's gonna be some pretty bad ones and experiences, but wow she is up there with the worst I've had. I've dealt with several auto immune disorders since I was child. I'm now entering my late twenties. That's several additional specialty doctors, in and out of my life. They're all a bit rough around the edges & and cold, because you're a case/patient, not their child. To take that personal is a bit too sensitive and incredibly high maintenance. You are not rating a hotel, you are rating a medical doctor. You are not reviewing a Costco store, you are reviewing your quality of life increasing thanks to prescribed care. With all that set aside, I had a rheumatologist prior to Freyne, who was kind, softly spoken and had all the bedside manner in the world, but wouldn't help me medically. I stepped foot in Dr. Freyne's office, was immediately seen, she got right to the point and offered her expertise. I don't want fluff, I want a doctor and I got one. I told her I needed options because I struggle with several aspects to several medications. She knew her stuff, she didn't criticize me for being complicated (which I am, trust me), she offered solutions, and got to work. That's what I'm looking for. It wasn't cold or distant, it was a doctor seeing how rough of shape I was in and wanting to urgently provide assistance because THAT's her job. I'm giving this four stars because the 5th one will come when I ultimately see results from the medication she is starting me on today and I'll check back in when this doctor provides the quality of life I've been desperately seeking for the last two years, because I know she's reliable. Not the place to go if you are looking for treatment of any kind. Paid for 2 visits and a ton of labs that were unnecessary since already done multiple times over in the last 6 months, most recent being 2 weeks prior, to get no help with issues that brought me to the practice. Just got a letter from insurance, months after last visit, that my medicine was denied because the doctor did not follow up with prior authorization. After many calls to try to get this resolved was ghosted by the practice and left confused as to why I could not fill rx at the pharmacy. Now I have the answer, doctor failed in her duty. This is exactly the place to go if you want to be fat shamed, told your cholesterol is sO hIgH (when primary care said the day before it was fine) and told to just exercise and every problem will go away. Wow, please everyone read the response from an EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL "WHAT" I CAN'T EVEN SAY HERE. Will be reporting to the medical board. Did not go for obesity treatment, went there for help with issues that are related to rheumatology and not at all for obesity treatment. So to be clear, blaming the insurance for denying obesity medication when it was not even prescribed is beyond rich. What a pack of AH's at this practice. I have been going to Dr Freyne for about 3 years. It has been the worst experience of my life. I would have changed doctors sooner if there was another rheumatologist in my area that was covered by my insurance. I just located one 40 miles away from me and I am switching! She does not listen to her patients, and always wants to put you in some kind of study. I get blood work done regularly and yet I had to go to my primary because I was having a flare up and found out my kidneys are having trouble! First, I am an RN working a Covid nurse in ICU/PCU. I canceled my appointments and still got charged two cancelation fees. I called the office and explained that these appointments were canceled and I will not pay cancelation fee. The doctor stated that she will waive one of them but not both. To date she has not removed any of them. I begged the staff to have the doctor reconsider as I am a single mother and cant afford these charges. I explained that I did not miss these appointments but the doctor doesn't care and refused to communicate with me. The staff said that I could make a follow up appointment if I wanted to discuss but I had to pay the balance before I came in. Not to mention this doctor is very unprofessional. When I came in for my very first visit, she did not introduce herself and came into the room and immediately looked at her computer. She then got a phone call and excused herself and came back. I felt very un easy from the moment I walked in and now she is charging me when I canceled this appointment. I also found out my mother used to go to this doctor and she had her on a water pill that she never needed and it was affecting her negatively. TLDR: Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this clinic for routine physicals; although my appointments were straightforward and no fuss, billing was a whole other story. Think that Dr Freyne will jump in to help (after all, it's her clinic)? Might want to rethink that. Went in for a simple annual physical (which is completely covered by my Anthem insurance) but 2 visits later + 2 bloodworks + 1 vaccination and they STILL will not bill me correctly for a single annual physical. Result: paid $330 out-of-pocket and lost $500 company incentive. The clinic will play the blame game and push anything billing-related to their billing "department" which in reality is a completely different medical billing company named HiiSight based out of Houston, TX. Not only did HiiSight fail to correct my claims, but even after detailing exactly what Anthem needs, HiiSight simply will not follow through. Want to get in touch with them? Impossible; the HiiSight team leaders in charge of Dr Freyne's office (Bhuvan and Saradeep) are in India. I tried calling and emailing them - nada. Even their colleagues at the HiiSight Houston office cannot get answers from them. I even asked Dr Freyne to intervene multiple times but no response from Dr Freyne nor the team leads. 2 months later, still nada. Simply put, guess I took competent medical billing and responsible clinics for granted since I never had an issue elsewhere. Now that I had a taste of the other side, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere; don't lose out like I did. Update: Just in case Dr Freyne retracts her response, it is pasted here as well - "This office specializes in consultative care of rheumatologic and internal medicine conditions. You don't have a medical problem - you have a billing and coding issue. Take your complaints to a paper pusher and make sure you bring up your chief complaint at the beginning of the appointment so that there is no uncertainty as to the purpose of your visit. This office is for those seeking medical care for health issues." My Response: 1) Dr Freyne, in that singular response it is evident you believe billing is outside your clinic's responsibilities and that you are "above that". Personally, I find that conceited (especially considering it was precisely at your clinic that I swiped my credit card for the visits. You'll happily charge the bill but not correct it). Here's an analogy, when you return something to Costco, do you simply return to Costco or return through the item's manufacturer? From your response, it sounds like you'd argue for the latter. My take is, because my business is with the clinic, that's the entity I should deal with, not whoever you choose to outsource your labor to. Now keep in mind, I've done my best with the circumstances, trying to get in touch with your team leads; the very same ones you messaged personally might I add. The only reason they even made a sorry attempt is because you messaged them personally. Nothing else will do. Because of that, I asked you to intervene multiple times but silence from your end. Yes, I agree the fault is more with HiiSight but your refusal to ensure proper billing for YOUR customers reflects just as poorly on your clinic. 2) As for bringing up the chief complaint at the beginning of the appointment, I have no idea what you mean. For my first time there, at the front desk, I explicitly said I was there for an annual physical. When you, Dr Freyne, asked what I was in for, I gave the same reply, to which you said "Oh! You're in the right place!". Did I somehow leave the purpose of my first visit unanswered? As for my 2nd visit, not only was I there for a bloodwork follow-up, but that was also precisely the time I paid for the first visit. In other words, that was the time when the issue came to light (When I asked front desk about it, they played the blame game and told me to call your billing "department"). If it still isn't clear - my billing complaint came up AFTER the 2nd visit; as you know, there is no 3rd visit to talk about because well, it never happened. I'd Give her Zero Stars if I could because thats what I got ZERO! I went there, got 5 minutes of her time, then her staff took a full blood workup (10 viles). A week later I went back for the results. Her office staff said I owed a co-pay of $363 dollars, and I need to pay that BEFORE I could see the doctor, or get any results of the blood test. I've never in my life had a co-pay of $363 dollars short of a hospital stay and I have the best Insurance you can buy. So I looked at the bill. $205 dollars of it was a co-pay for her office visit. She charged $660 DOLLARS FOR A OFFICE VISIT!!!!! The Insurance Co was willing to pay $455 of it. So I called her office with this and they said to email her. I emailed her asking if $455 dollars wasnt enough for an office visit, and she basically gave me the finger. This place is strictly a money grab. read more

If I could I would give this place negative stars but, obviously it does not allow us to do that. My wife has been a patient of this doctor for well over eight years now and we have experienced nothing but hardship and more pain because of her office staff. I'm going to be honest, Dr. Freyni is a great doctor however when it comes to resolving conflict or taking care of her staff and acting like an actual office manager, she is one of the worst physicians that I cannot trust with my wife's health. Here we are, Friday night, 7 PM, waiting for medication that was supposed to be filled by her medication authorization technician Justyn, and yet he still did not take care of it. This lady and her office staff need to be reported to the California medical board which we will be doing first thing Monday morning. This lady needs to lose her medical license. I'm not the only one who has had issues with you. I noticed I have not heard from your so called "Billing Department " so apparently someone realized their mistake. I thought my problems were over when I stopped going to this clinic in 2014 and switched to my Rheumatologist in Corona. For the years prior, when I was a patient of Dr. Freyne's, I had multiple billing issues that were accounting errors of her office; sometimes receiving late bills and penalties of mischarged office visits as low as a $3.00 error. The last set of errors were doctor visits that I cancelled promptly in 2014 yet still was billed for. I finally paid because my disputes never went anywhere and I just wanted it all to go away and move on to a new doctor. In running a credit report recently, I found a charge that was raised against me in 2017 for a "missed appointment" in 2015 that I didn't even schedule. I've disputed but still, no response. Based on the other reviews here, I sound like a broken record but it's important for context. The worst part is that Dr. Freyne is extremely knowledgeable and did help me get on a Humira treatment that has kept my Psoriatic Arthritis at bay but to attack my financial record and refuse to consider that there was a clerical error made by an inept office staff of hers is just unacceptable. Advice: Arthritis Medical Clinic in Riverside and Southland Arthritis - both businesses have a handle on their process and staff. More importantly they won't charge you erroneously for an appointment you never made. read more

Over 3 years ago I was misdiagnosed with a deadly disease by a naturopathic doctor. Dr. Freyne was quick to diagnose me correctly after performing a slew of blood tests and an ultrasound. I've read the negative reviews, and I would have to disagree with all of them. The staff is extremely nice, billing was correctly done with no issues, and Dr. Freyne is direct, no fuss, kind, extremely thorough, and to the point. I don't need a doctor to hold my hand and coddle me. I don't need my doctor to flash me a fake smile and ask how my family is doing. I DO need a doctor to correctly diagnose me and be there when I have concerns and questions. Dr. Freyne is that doctor! As for the wait, I'm not sure I've ever been to a doctor that doesn't have a wait. Just bring a book and enjoy some time to yourself instead of griping and complaining about a busy practice and a popular doctor! Had my first consultation with Dr. Freyne last week. She was thorough, kind, and answered all of my questions. The staff was very helpful and considerate. I was able to have a bone density scan and lab work right there in her office. I will be returning to have a couple ultrasounds. This so called Arthritis doctor diagnosed my husband with Rheumatoid Arthritis and gave him years worth of Infusion treatments she benefitted from. In 2015 after going to two second opinions we found out my husband does not and never has had RA. He has arthritis in most of his body due to broken bones and osteoarthritis in his back, knees and ankles. Dr. Freyne's office still calls us for payment, I'll die before paying this rip off doctor. Because of her outstanding knowledge and treatment I have very little joint damage and I am able to live an active lifestyle. I bike 20-30 miles per week. She didn't even get the issues correct after I read her Summary Notes, and when I got tons of blood drawn, with CBC panels, u are REQUIRED to fast & nope she did it anyway making all the test numbers invalid (yes, I got a 2nd & 3rd opinion on Bloodwork Rules!). Then, finding out that Dr. Freyne believed that "since I had short fingernails & my sores were in scratch areas, I was "Self Mutilating"." I'm sorry, but what an insult - my nails are short due to sores forming, then exploding & when I have to cover with Hydrocollaide Bandages, they rip off my skin & I am left with no nail. Plus, I keep EVERY SORE covered! And thanks for calling me "pre diabetic" when your test wasn't a FAST, so my Glucose was 2 points too high & thanks for ignoring the High RBC; ALK Phosphate Levels & high ALT. Wow! I'll NEVER go back - you made me feel worse, lied to & you were completely insensitive! Do not plan to be seen in a timely manner by this doctor! They will make you wait hours! And if you walk out, they will charge you a $50 missed appointment fee. We refused to pay it and they actually turned it over to a collections agency! The doctor seemed just as clueless and we were about what was going on medically also. We didn't even no-show! I was referred to Dr. Freyne by my trusted General Practitioner so I had a reasonable comfort level going into the appointment. I googled Dr. Freyne's name online for directions and stumbled on the Yelp reviews. After reading a couple of the comments, I was concerned but remained open-minded due to the level of trust I have with my General Practitioner. I arrived at Dr. Freyne's office early and was given the typical stack of forms for a new patient. Right on schedule, I was called back to get my vitals and put into an examination room. In a matter of minutes the Doctor came in and introduced herself. Contrary to some of the reviews left here, I found the Doctor to be very kind, extremely professional, with a staff that runs a smooth operation. My exam was thorough and complete. I felt the Doctor took plenty of time to understand my history as she asked many questions, and followup questions. I never felt hurried or push along. When it came time to have blood drawn, it was done right there, within 10 minutes of leaving the exam room. I wish that every Doctor I have seen was as high caliber as Dr. Freyne. read more

Absolutely my kind of no non-sense doctor! First time patient and she was thorough and thoughtful. Dr. Freyne patiently listened and responded without diminishing my thoughts or suggestions based upon some of the research I had done. I love that the office can conveniently handle blood work and injections without sending me elsewhere. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment with my new client paperwork completed ahead of time, ready to submit and the receptionist let me know there were two people ahead of me. True to form I watched two people go in and within ten minutes or so of my appointment time I was called back. I was in and out, paperwork completed, history and discussion about my medical issues resolved, blood drawn for lab work and injection done to help my particular ailment within 46 minutes flat! Dr. Freyne was extremely thorough in her examination and diagnosis of my family member. She is very intelligent with a thoughtful process to putting all the pieces together. She is direct and to the point , which I greatly appreciate. If there's something wrong , she's gonna find it. Her office staff was very friendly and attentive. Easy to get an appointment and didn't have an excessive wait once we arrived. In my opinion, the people who have complained about Dr. Freyne value short wait times over a thorough examination and explanation . She gives you her complete attention and does not rush you out. Been with Dr Freyne for long time , love coming in in morning as she is super fast and gets you out fast. She stays current in my labs and medication. VERY UNSTABLE DOCTOR!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE! She left for her personal eye appointment leaving me and another patient waiting. I have already been waiting to get seen for 30 mins prior to the doctor leaving her office. Had I not hear what she told her staff that she was leaving for the day, I would've still been waiting for nothing!!! Do yourselves a favor, stop seeing this quack of a doctor! or if you are looking for a caring and well educated doctor, STAY AWAY from this one!!!! Her staff had the nerve to tell me that I should've shown up @2pm while they booked my appointment for 230pm! Doesn't make sense at all! If they wanted me to show up @2, they should've told me that my appointment was at 2 and not 230!!! And besides, if she had a personal doctor's appt, she should have canceled all her other appointments for that afternoon! SMH. I put a curse on Dr. Brigid Freyne! Being new to the area, I chose Dr. Freyne's office based on location and reviews. What I quickly found was a courteous and friendly staff. What a pleasure! Upon meeting Dr. Freyne, I was treated with dignity and respect. I found her quite easy to converse with. Her thorough knowledge and expertise caught me a bit off guard. I guess that speaks to the care I'd previously experienced with my previous rheumatologist. Dr. Freyne is incredibly knowledgeable, and absolutely thorough in her quest to give the best care. She goes to the heart of the matter, and answers all of my questions with kindness. If you're one to be put off by a wait, perhaps living in a small town is your best option. I moved here from one, and our wait time was never more than twenty minutes or so. But I never would have found the standard of care there that I do here. She's worth every minute. read more

I have been with Dr. Freyne for over 15 years as a patient. Her office runs smoothly as on time. Her medical assistants are kind, friendly and professional. Dr. Freyne is thorough and professional. My Rheumatoid Arthritis has gotten better since I have been treated by her. She found innovative medicines for me when other medicines did not work and I am feeling better than I have in years. After sitting here reading some of these reviews i decided to share my Mom's story. After having a massive heart attack she came down with symptoms that nobody could explain. She was told by many doctors that she needed to see a rheumatologist. When we searched for one, there was nothing closer than six months out for an appointment. I then decided to check down here in Murietta. When I called DR Freyne's office and explained my Mom's situation, not only did they agree to see her, they asked, " How soon can she be here?" Within a week, my mom was in there, and the doctor had all of her test results, a diagnosis, and was ready to start treatment within three days of her appt. When it came time for my mom to go back to Nevada. The doctor made sure to get all my mom's files to the rheumatologist up there when that appointment was ready. My mom has since moved to this area and called Doctor Freyne to see if she would fit her in to start coming back to her.They made no hesitation and my mom has an appointment for Monday. The reason there's such long waits at times is because she will take anybody who's in pain and needs her services and she takes her time with them. I feel like a lot of people making complaints on here have never had to try to find specialty medical treatment outside of a metropolis area. Try moving to some place that's a retirement community and try to find an appointment with a rumatologist there.You won't spend 2 hours in a waiting room. You'll spend six months at home in pain before you can even be seen. I, for one, am glad that all these negative reviews have not made Dr. Freyne shy away from taking on such a heavy caseload!
