He also offers telehealth when I can't make it in and its something he can address on a telehealth call it saves me so much time. I have been going there for 10 years. Somehow, they manage to manipulate him to not believe the patients. I have covid. I had a ROUGH a couple of nights and doing my best to not go to ER. After making gizzilian calls, I managed to find them. Dr. To prescribed me covid meds and the number was not clear to pharmacist. They tried to contact them, I have been calling them a couple of times a day and ZERO response. Finally, today i decided to go there so i can get me meds for the weekend. I go there and stephanie was sirting in the dark on the computer. I didnt enter the office and sked her to answer the phone. I went to my car and called her and she answered. She put me on hold and said doctor will send a new prescription before end of the day, and nothinh happned. I feel when they dont want to work, they will get ride of you because they can. It's a real struggle having the simplest communications. I feel they play there more than they work. Both my mom and mother in law is seeing Dr. To as their PCP. If you read other posts and if you had seen him before, he is excellent - unless he is really busy, like if someone is dying and actually is waiting for him ate the hospital, he will take time to listen to you during your appointment. The problem really lies on the ladies in the front and if they're the same ladies picking up the phone- yup these ladies are extremely rude and make you feel like you are someone wasting their time. They are not patient, empathetic and lack customer skills. I don't know what is there to be rude about when their job description is to talk to patients and assist them for help in regards to their need with the doctors. They don't even let you finish your words and doesn't even ask if you are a patient or ask what they could help you with, if at least they can rwrite on a post-it if you want to give the doctor a message. They will just say, "well he is busy right now, that's on your pharmacy and not on us." To follow up on a refill because the pharmacy is still waiting on them is extremely stressful, not because on the wait but because on how rude that lady was. I hope Dr. To and other doctors in this office will seriously look at how these ladies behave. I have been seeing Dr. Bryan To for a couple years now. He seems to be a personable enough guy; however, I'm getting the feeling that money is his priority, and he could care less about treating his patients. I have been patient long enough and have given Dr. To every opportunity to treat my diagnosis' and/or refer me to the proper doctors. I have handed him the research and a diagnosis, and he has decided to blow off my diagnosis of Chronic Epstein-Barr, (which can kill a person if left untreated) and MTHFR. I have labs to prove that he has known about the chronic Epstein-Barr for 2-years now and has done nothing. I even sent him documentation from the CDC last week by email on how to "properly" read the Epstein-Barr test and I don't think he even read it. At this point I feel his and his offices actions are reckless, and I can prove it. This is my first attempt at getting his offices attention. My next attempt will be to file a complaint with my insurance company, the Medical Board of California, and every other acronym under I can. Note: I had to ask Dr. To run specific tests to determine my diagnosis, as he had no idea what might be going on and did not look further. I have done the research for him and have also confirmed with a Naturopath that I have chronic Epstein-Barr and an MTHFR mutation. I cannot afford to keep paying out of pocket for a Naturopath. Today I called Dr. To's office and Stephanie answered the phone. I feel Dr. To and his staff are in over their head. They can't keep up... Stephanie has been telling me for a WEEK now that she is going to email me my referrals. I have yet to get an email, even though I had her read off my email address to me and confirm it twice this week. Today Stephanie called me back to tell me that Dr. To wants to know if I want to be referred to an infectious Disease doctor or Rheumatologist for chronic Epstein-Barr. WTH?!! This is so FRUSTERATING!! A RHEUMATOLOGIST does NOT treat chronic Epstein-Barr! If you don't know, Google is your friend Dr. To. I sincerely think I have learned more about health over the past two years than this man has in his whole career, or he just doesn't care. I have been sick for too many years, and I'm done messing around with doctors who either don't care to do their job or are incompetent! Dr. To and staff, this is an attempt to get your office to pay attention and provide my wife and I with the quality, caring service we deserve. If this is rectified this review can go away, but until then I will leave my review and will initiate contacting my insurance company, the Medical Board of California. P.S. Did you (Dr. To) or your office read the detailed email I sent you? It does not appear so as your office has blown me off. I sent you CDC criteria and the CDCs guidelines on how to read the Epstein-Barr Antibody Profile properly with no response. I'm so frustrated!!! I am an LVN have been for 13 years. Out of ALL the Dr offices I've encountered this is the icing on the cake of the worst of the worst! First they need to UNDERSTAND patients rights (HIPAA) and the reason for that. Meaning you don't talk loud enough over the counter to let everyone else in the room hear another patients private information! Second, do NOT argue with a patient about insurance when later on they figure out ooops they were wrong and Military PRIME insurance does NOT need a medical card! 3rd CLEAN this office up it looks like it's a low class low income facility! I choose to NOT go back to this office again and found a more professional Dr in the area that has professional medical assistants and KNEW how to run a back office! NOT ADVISED! Although Dr. To seems like a nice enough person and competent doctor, his staff is rude and disinterested. Wait times on my only two visits were 45min on the first one and close to an hour on the 2nd from when I was scheduled to be seen. Paperwork that took my previous Dr. (who unfortunately passed) 2 days to complete, I was quoted would take 7-10 days. Only after my repeated calls to check on status, was I finally given completed paperwork after 4 days and surprise, surprise it was filled out incorrectly on their end. I did not get the chance to meet dr. To yet. From what i hear, he is excellent. His fron desk staff os another story. I called as a new patient with a knee injury. I explained to the young lady that i was in emergency room on sunday. The er had told me to make an appointment with my primary doctor a week from then. Not realizing dr. To was my primary doctor, i didn't call until friday around 2pm. The young lady on the phone answered promptly and asked how she could help. I explained the situation as quickly as i could, knowing that she was probably busy. She hastily asked for my birthday and then told me there was an appointment on monday. Then she asked a few more questions and actually told me that I WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. So my appointment was canceled for Monday and she said another date was available. After i explained again about my pressing situation she repeated that I WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. Now let me ask you, someone who has never been to the er in their adult should not be expected to know all the office rules. After i repeated myself, again, she interrupted me and asked me how old i was. I said with pride that i was 38. She said to me "AND YOU ARE IN SCHOOL " i told her that was irrelevant and that i just needed to see the doctor. Once again, she repeated her famous phrase and said that if i wasn't a new patient, i could be seen sooner. Our conversation came to an end shortly after that and i left feeling helpless and stepped on. There was no need for her to be so abrasive and unsympathetic. The front line should always be the most resourceful and helpful. She was beyond worse than expected. Seriously, she needs to be coached on customer service. read more

Dr. Bryan To is the type of physician who listens and responds to your question. He is caring, thorough, pleasant, and appreciates the input of his patients and doesn't rush his time with you. He takes time to explain your medical condition or medical question(s). At my last visit, I asked him a medical question in regard to why don't doctors requests a certain test on all labs requests. He took the time to explain why or why not. We highly recommend him! We have had Dr. Bryan To as our family physician for over almost a decade. A doctor's office is only as good as the front office staff and Dr. To's front office staff fail miserably at being his gatekeepers. He would do well to start off by replacing the two women who are sitting at the reception window, Alicia who sits to the left and some new clone-in-training to the right. I recently took a relative to a post hospitalization visit. My relative had quite a lengthy list of medications that required new scripts from Dr. To. Dr. To said to just have the pharmacy call him for the scripts. We told him it was a new pharmacy (for the patient) so we would like scripts in hand. He said no, just have them call. So, I took the lengthy list of meds to the pharmacy and told the pharmacist that the doc said they could just call him. The pharmacist was dumbfounded but, to her credit, she attempted --several times-- to take care of this over the phone. Needless to say, it is one week later and after numerous calls to Dr. To's Office by myself (one of which left me in tears)and the pharmacy, we are STILL waiting to get all of these scripts resolved. The simple solution would have been for us to walk out of the visit with scripts in hand as I had originally requested. Had that simple request been honored it would have spared a lot of unnecessary phone calls, rudeness, waiting...and my relative would have had his needed medication. Moral of this story, if you choose this doctor, INSIST on walking out the door with an actual written prescription in hand or you are asking for a trip to the gates of Hell and back with his staff to get anything resolved. Needless to say, my relative will be switching to a new doctor. Note to Dr. To: If you desire an all-around successful practice, be more discerning about your front office staff. Hire people who are pleasant, who smile and are a bit more compassionate to your patients. The staff you have now are good at one thing -- driving your patients away! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. To's for a few years. I'm writing this, honestly, because the negative reviews are inaccurate. Unfortunately, some people love to gripe on Yelp, and I don't want my provider to be treated unfairly. I don't want the positives in his practice to go unnoticed. Dr. To deserves 5 stars. In comparison with every other primary care provider I've seen, Dr. To is absolutely the best. He gives a patient what each of us want from a doctor: time to be heard, have concerns genuinely cared about, and also have issues resolved. He listens to what the patient says. He doesn't shortchange a person for time and wants to get to the bottom of problems. After my visits I consistently feel like my health is his priority, and with his care I'll be okay. If I need a referral to a specialist, his staff quickly puts one in with insurance. Not so with unfortunately too many other doctors, where a patient wonders if they have been forgotten. Some reviews here mention office staff being rude. They are not rude they are extremely nice and polite but are busy. They give that same high level of care to every patient. They're professionals. My view is I'd rather have a productive call and visit, getting things really done, than have a nice chit chat with the staff where my care isn't important to them. This happens too often in offices. One lady that works with Dr. To has been with the practice for years. I once really thanked her for calling me back about something same-day. She told me she wouldn't be able to rest at night if she neglected to call patients back. Take the negative reviews for what they often are. Complaints without merit and sometimes merely a reflection of someone's bad day. Again, Dr. To deserves 5 stars! read more

I went to see Dr Bryan To as a new patient with an extensive and complex medical history. It took a little over a month to get in to see him, so I called to make sure he had all the paperwork he would need to get my medical records before I came in. I have ongoing treatment that needs prescription refills and referrals that would need to be handled quickly because of the long wait to see him. He did not send out for my medical records. His office staff was friendly and the office was clean. I was told to arrive 15 mins early to my appointment and still waited about 45 mins past my appointment time to see the doctor. He did not introduce himself. He never examined me physically, did not even listen to my heart or lungs. While I was trying to show him some of the issues that needed to be addressed he never even looked up from the computer. He only wrote for 3 of my many referrals, according to him "so it would not confuse the office staff"? I have access to the majority of my medical records online and had them ready to view on my phone, including current bloodwork results done less than a week before that he really needed to look at. He refused to look and said he needed them in paper form. Then he walked out of the room while I was still trying to go over medical issues with him. I followed him into the hall asking what to do about the other referrals and his response was "we can't fix everything in one day"? I carry a list of medical issues and prescriptions with me to doctor visits to make sure to cover everything; we didn't even get through half the list. He is also not going to refill prescriptions I have been on for over 2 years because "he doesn't prescribe that medication"? These are medications you cannot just stop taking without sever consequences. Because of my complex medical issues my case manager from my insurance company (who is an RN) even called his office about the prescriptions and he still refuses to refill them. I have seen some incompetent doctors through the course of my illness but this guy is in the top 3 worst I've seen yet. read more

Worst Dr. I have ever seen. Dr. Bryan To Barely made eye contact with me. Did not introduce himself and made me feel unwelcome. Wherever he went to school they did not teach him people skills. I remembered something I wanted to ask and he repeatedly acted bummed out saying "why didn't you bring this up when I asked past medical issues" he said that like two or three times while he just had to click back three times on his computer screen and add it. He just seem like he was going through the motions, there for the paycheck and not to help people. I'm so sad my insurance changed, I had such a great Dr. before and Dr. To just made me realize this even more. I will not be going back to see Dr. To and guarantee anyone who reads this after seeing him will have wish they had read it before so. You can tell this is just how this guy is, he wasn't just having a bad day. I know dr.'s have a stressful job to a degree and am not quick to overly come to judgements. One of the worst office staffs I have EVER encountered and let me tell you, ive been to a lot! First time I went I was shocked to hear the way the girl was talking to a patient over the phone. We all heard her being condescending and rude, I looked at the other people in waiting room and they didn't seemed phased, that's a sign. I thought, well maybe a bad day or a patient was being unruly, WRONG! It happened to me, they will not google any number to a pharmacy or address, make you do it. Will not lift a finger if they don't have to and wont and will be completely rude about it. I even called once with a simple question because I have past medical issues with cancer, didn't get back to me till a week later and didn't have the right question I asked just a watered down version. How insulting, Im quite literally dying of cancer and the lack of human decency is shocking. I will NEVER ever go back to that place. Today was the final straw, I called the office just asking for a refill prescription and she would not take my information and said I had to call the pharmacy, even tho I reiterated there was no refills left and they told me to contact my doctor. Sometimes I have medication that is life and death, and they cant make a simple note to have the dr call it in to pharmacy???? deplorable. no human decency. The Dr. was sub par at best and not worth the pain and suffering the staff inflicts. You'd have to be crazy to go to this Dr. Id rather die in peace then be treated in such a manner, good riddance, Oh and yes I agree with the other review, I was the first patient there after lunch, no one even acknowledged my existence and didn't even give me the time of day till way after my appointment time. I doubt the Dr even reads these reviews, he seems quite fine with the way the nurses and staff act.
