Service was slow on a Saturday but they were able to take the three of us for pedicure. They were understaffed and the pedicurist did not speak English but she was nice. She did a decent job on my foot but my husband broke out in this major rash after him telling her that whatever chemicals she was using hurt his feet...no communication. My daughter had her feet done and that was fine too. The issue is the wait was long ( had to wait after my hubby) hubby broke out in a rash, they wanted to charge $5 using a credit card and did not disclose it up front. I ended paying in cash . The place needs more people that speaks English and they need to communicate more clearly and use better products. read more

This has been my nail salon for my dip with and without extensions for 3 years. Nga is so friendly and knowledgeable of what she does. My nails can last up to three weeks before I have to think about getting them done again. The place is small but clean. Mediocre service and quality is what I would've said in the past as I've been left to wait over an hour despite having an appointment and previously had a full set of acrylics last less than a week. However, this recent visit was the worst. I stopped going and switched to another salon but due to schedules they couldn't fit me in for a last minute appointment so I returned here. I was getting dip removed and replaced on my natural nails. I'm unsure of the name of the tech who serviced me. She had me soak my nails in acetone to remove the dip, the acetone was in a bowl sitting in another bowl of water that was SO HOT it made the acetone hot and felt like my fingers were burning. It did eventually cool, but not off to a great start. The tech cut me 4 times during my service causing me to bleed. The first 3 times were from the nail drill, which she used to remove the edges of the old dip but seemed like she also used it to remove the cuticles and shred my skin off in 3 places. She put some green solution on it and kept going. The 4th time was actually with the manual nail file! She kept trying to shape the edge of my nail but kept hitting my skin which was SO painful and she actually caused a cut just from filing it over and over. I said Ow and she apologized but kept going, putting the green solution on it again. She was then nearly finished with my dip, and putting the chrome powder and gel top coat. When finishing that, she stopped and asked another tech something (not in English so I'm not sure what it was), she then apologied and dremeled the gel and chrome off all my nails. She started to put another product on, I think it was dip activator and not a top coat, did 3 nails, asked the other tech again, and AGAIN removed whatever she had just put on. She clearly did not understand the products she was working with which is concerning since these are chemicals you are putting on someone's body! We finished the manicure, my nails are very uneven, with chunks of cured dip on the sides of my nails, and I leftover remains of the old dip color that dripped from the acetone. After this experience, I will not be returning. My nails don't look like a professional did them, and more importantly, multiple nails hurt and are red from the cuts (hoping I don't get an infection). read more

I called this Salon on a Friday and asked if they had time to do a refill. I was told to come in a 1 which was about an hour from when I called . I showed up at 12:45 and was told I'd have to wait a few mins which I was fine with because 1- it's Friday and 2- I'm early. I didn't get into a chair until 1:40. When I expressed my frustration I was met is rude and unhelpful responses and a nonchalant attitude about making a customer wait 40 minutes for a booked appointment? Could have just said they didn't have time on the phone. I would have happily moved on to one of the other 10 billion salons around the corner. The tech then cut me twice with the Drill (see photos) and two days later I'm noticing tons of chips and uneven acrylic. They also way overcharge. I'll never be back. read more

Came in for a gel manicure. My nails had nothing on them and were already trimmed before I arrived. I was wary when the technician didn't open a sealed bag and the tools were already out. After badly filing my nails, the technician started on my cuticles. Unfortunately, she cut my middle cuticle and it began to bleed. She didn't put on gloves to care for the cut (a major health code violation!) and blotted at the blood with a corner of a paper towel. She put a few drops of styptic liquid to stop the bleeding (it didn't work). I washed my hands, and my finger was still bleeding. At this point, I asked to stop the manicure and leave. It wasn't worth risking an infection, and this place had some warning signs. I offered to pay the tech part of the money for the work she had already done. She asked to be paid $18 - the whole manicure should be $30. I was shocked. When I replied, "you cut my finger and made it bleed!" she denied it and demanded the money. Luckily another customer had watched the whole thing, and the technician finally told me to "just leave." Don't worry - I won't be coming back! read more

My grandma made an appointment for me and my little sister to get a gel pedi and and acrylic set, and not only did it take an hour for them to even start on ONE of us, but when it was my grandmas turn, they almost let a walk in go before her (I get that could've been a simple mistake but they made us wait so long that it was just unacceptable at that point). Continuously had to tell the "nail tech" to please not cut my big toe, just file. She kept trying to cut it, not listening to my multiple requests to NOT CUT THE BIG TOES, and I can understand that there's a language barrier, but she didn't seem to even have any experience. I have been doing my own nails for a few months now, and even I was able to see the inexperience. She grabbed a nail drill to remove the old gel from my nails and then dropped it into the water on my feet. She filed my skin more than my actual nail, and then proceeded to scrape the pumice stone on all the areas of my foot that DONT touch the ground (basically anywhere that doesn't callus because it doesn't even touch the ground- like the arch of the foot, and the top of my foot?). No one was listening when I said "ow" or "that hurts", so I asked for someone else to finish them. The new tech came over and she also tried to cut my nails, after I previously asked MULTIPLE times PLEASE DO NOT CUT THEM. While the second "tech" was doing them, the person who seemed to be the manager, and the only one able to communicate back to me in English (I'm simply stating this because it plays a part in the fact that I know she COULD understand me, while the other techs weren't able to because of the language barrier), told the woman to stop, and then she (the manager) started finishing my nails. She finished the gel, it was mostly good but a little messy so I just asked if she could clean it up. She then started filing the edges of my nail, which is a pretty typical thing to do after finishing gel nails. But while she was doing so, the file would slip and scrape the skin by my cuticle, which was already very irritated from the first AND second tech filing my skin. I told her it was hurting me and I was met with invalidation. To tell someone the physical pain they are feeling isn't real is ridiculous. On top of that, her being the one to inflict the pain and then act like she did nothing astonished me. Then I explained what it was that was hurting me, and she denied it multiple times saying "how would I be filing your skin if I'm filing the nail" (ur file is slipping because you're filing too fast with too much pressure, idiot). I told her to just finish so I could leave because at that point I was so tired and fed up. She then started filing again, and slipping and scraping my skin. I pointed it out again and said "you're telling me you're not doing something while I watch you do it, and it really hurts". She started telling me to calm down, granted I started out very calm and just become frustrated with the pain I was feeling, all because no one could listen to my words. Im disappointed because this isn't the first time my grandma has brought us here and the service was terrible. It was years ago though so I had higher hopes and I didn't want to assume, but my experience today was worse than last time there (7 years ago). Two young women were already there when we arrived and they also seemed to have multiple issues with how they were doing things, as well. I'm not sure the managers name, but once I got up from the seat to leave and leaned down to grab my shoes, she put her hand on my back and although it seemed like sympathetic gesture at first, you don't put your hands on someone, especially when you're already having a problem, or when their back is turned to you, because honestly my first reaction was that I need to defend myself. But what made me realize it wasn't sympathy at all, was the things she chose to say after touching me. She continued the argument when I already told her I was done and leaving. She continued to tell me I was being difficult, she hates her job, and telling other customers this as well. If you hate your job so much, then fucking quit, you suck at your job anyways. I'm not forcing you to be here. And it is not my fault you were hurting me. I guarantee she wasn't intending to hurt me, and I even told her I can understand that you're not meaning to hurt me but you are, and it was the not caring that I was in pain that suggests she is inexperienced and unprofessional and that falls solely on her. I highly recommend AVOIDING this establishment. The picture didn't pick up the redness very well, but all along my cuticle area and the outer edge/right side of my toe is noticeable more red than the left side. As you can see there's lifting of my natural nail half way down the nail bed, (to clarify, I'm not sure why there's lifting but this WAS NOT from the awful pedicure, it was already there) hence why I wanted them to NOT cut them, to prevent any more issues. read more

So it has been over a year now, I have tried other nail salons in both Boston and New York And none still compare to the selection and quality this salon has... they are amazing! I will still gladly drive 25 mins to get my nails done! I laid out all the color options they have for powder nails so you guys could see what I mean... it's a blessing and a curse lol because when I'm there it takes me forever to pick because there are so many options loll... Nya and her team are very patient with me .... I have tried other salons both in the area and out of state when I travel and I found the quality of the product they use is completely different. Even the way they remove the powder manicure is completely different.. I went to another place a couple of times when I was away and my nails became paper thin and weak after two powder manicures and that never happens when I get my nails done here! I enjoyed my experience. The salon is small and a little older but it is very well kept and I could see that they actually clean after every customer. My sister and I were going to get acrylics but, decided on dip nails as the salon owner said that they are less damaging to the nails. I wear gloves at work and so I didn't want my nails too long and wanted a coffin shape. She was able to make them the perfect length and shape. I swear I have tried every single product designed to strengthen nails (mine are naturally soft and peel or break all the time). I will definitely not be going back to Brighton Nails anytime soon. My first gripe was that they took me at 5:20 for a 5:00 appointment, but I'll give them a pass on that. The manager was my nail technician. She was very pushy and tried to pressure me into doing a dip manicure (presumably because it costs more) even though I kept saying I wanted to do gel. She did not do a good cleaning around my nails and left lots of dead and hanging skin. Also, AFTER the gel had dried, she technician started filing my nails. I've never seen this technique before, and she did not do a good job. The nails were left jagged and messy. I made a comment as I was not happy about this, and she said that every nail tech does it differently. Then, I paid. She charged me $35 despite telling me that it was $30 when I made my appointment (and I paid in cash; they charge more for CC) After I left, I noticed that her filing left whites at the end of my finger nails. After getting home, I was so upset that I called her to tell her that I was not happy about my manicure. She told me to come back and she'd fix it. I came back and she told me that it was the skin under my nails causing the white and told me to wash my hands and that it would go away. I washed my hands and the white spots of course did not go away and Na (that's the manager's name) gave me a lecture on how she's been doing this for 29 years. I could tell that she was not going to redo my nails or give me a refund so I left frustrated after a ten minute lecture. I got this manicure on Thursday (May 6). It is now Sunday (May 9th) and the gel is already peeling. Whenever I've gotten a gel manicure elsewhere, it has lasted for 2 weeks (if not more). This did not even last 3 days. Definitely skip this salon. There are lots of other great ones in the area! read more

And I wasted almost 2 hours and over $60 (I always tip, even when it's bad). The pedi is all over the place, total mess. And while other reviewers raved about the leg massage, mine was about 30 seconds on each leg, and nothing great. The gel mani I had to come home and try to fix. It's stuck to my skin everywhere, and bled all into the cuticles and over the sides. Just a messy job. I'm probably going to have to get it redone somewhere tomorrow. What a waste. Cute little nail salon! All of the nails techs were so sweet and willing to accommodate me at 3:40 for a pedicure even though they closed at 4:00. They even asked if I wanted a manicure, which I, of course, declined because at that point it was after 4:00. Still, very considerate of them to ask. The nail tech who did my pedicure gave me the longest massage I've ever had during a pedicure, did a wonderful job shaping and painting my nails -- all for $25!
