I took my ford 2022 F150 to this dealer 4 times to repair a bad tailgate and integrated step. The last time they said they replaced the bolts and mechanism inside the tailgate. But still NOT fixed. They either are incapable of fixing or refuse. Either way took the truck to Bob Maxy Ford in Howell/Fowlerville and Immediately they said the tail gate was not correct and will schedule repairs. A few years ago I was referred to the Brighton Ford Dealership by a friend who had a great experience with the SUV I wanted to purchase. As a single mom, I did my research, trusted the Ford brand, and bought a Ford Escape SUV - believing I was making a safe, reliable choice. Unfortunately, within one year of ownership, my vehicle suffered coolant intrusion, which caused permanent engine damage. This was a known manufacturing defect tied to the engine design and line installation, yet Ford failed to properly address it. The Brighton Ford Service Department said they'd need to "evaluate it" but a new short block engine would cost about 9.5k. I was sent to the waiting area for a few hours while they "determined if if was under warranty." Of course the vehicle was still under warranty at the time. The outcome was a complete engine failure and left me without my SUV for sometime while it was replaced. Fast forward 1.5 years later, and the turbocharger failed, resulting in another repair this time costing nearly $6,000. Now, 1.5 years later, the vehicle experienced complete transmission failure. I contacted the Brighton Ford Service to replace the transmission but the experience was (once again) beyond disappointing. The customer service representative was dismissive and rude. I was told, "It will be at least three weeks before we can even have a transmission tech take a look at your SUV so you'd be better off taking it somewhere else for replacement. Just so you know, we probably can't get you a loaner then anyway." Then she hung up on me. I called back and asked about trading it in against the purchase of a new vehicle and was told I could "talk to the sales department but they probably wouldn't gave me more than a grand if the transmission was bad." That was the extent of the "service" I received. I have maintained this vehicle meticulously - regular oil changes, tire rotations, and all recommended service - yet it has been one major failure after another. This is not normal wear and tear. This is a lemon, and the lack of support or accountability from the dealership has been incredibly disappointing. I live and work in Livingston County, and my children attend schools here. I wanted to support a local dealership. I believe in buying American: I believe in buying local. There is something wrong when you take your car in to be fixed and they charge you $1100.00 to fix it. Then it's still not fixed you take it back and they say it's something else and it will be another $500.00 to fix it. We needed a new engine for our 2019 Ford Escape. Brighton Fors quoted us $5000. We went for another opinion and the other garage wasn't interested in that big of a job so we stuck with Brighton Ford. 3 months after the engine was replaced we had a very loud knocking in the engine so we took it back to Brighton Ford. They again quoted us $5000 for a cracked fly wheel. interesting that the only way a flywheel gets cracked is due to an improperly installed engine. But Brighton Ford believes they had nothing to do with it and weren't willing to help us out with the pricing at all. If anyone can tell me how a flywheel gets cracked other than during an engine installation please let me know. Otherwise I will always believe it happened at Brighton Ford and they completely covered up for their mistakes. We went to Thurmans Auto in Howell and they fixed it for $2000. I had to give at least one star to give my review otherwise they wouldn't get any. read more

Garrett the Brighton Ford service advisor is amazing! He is a people person. He thinks on his feet. He problem solves as soon as you drive your car in. He looks under the car., uses his flashlight and electronics to trouble shoot. He figures out the problem by himself in minutes. I've never met any service advisor as efficient as him in any dealership! Garrett is a unique individual and needs to be recognized and rewarded for his abilities/talent. Was in for an oil change/tire rotation last week. Was a little concerned when I first asked what oil they suggested for my truck. I was asking for manufacturer recommendation. The answer seemed like a guess. Once we settled on my oil type things went pretty smoothly. Oil change and Tire rotation were done. As I was waiting in the lobby, I noticed free popcorn and coffee. That was a nice touch. The only issue I had was the wait time after my truck was done. They pulled it back into the garage and it just sat there. Seemed like 20+ minutes. I'm not sure why it would take that long to have the paperwork processed, it's all done on a computer. Get people in and out. Be prepared to pay an additional 2.75% if you pay with a credit card over debit. Staff was very professional. Job was done well. read more

I am giving ZERO stars to this dealership! !! If I could give NEGATIVE stars, I would but they require at least one star to submit the review! I took my (late model) vehicle to this location for routine service and upon receiving my vehicle back I discovered oil smudges running down the fender, oily fingerprints along the roofline over the door, the door handles and trim panels on BOTH sides! Upon entering the vehicle, there were TWO oily handprints on my passenger seat, along the dash, and glove compartment, steering wheel, interior door panels, and HEADLINER!!! The door jam was covered in dirty boot smudges, and the door panel and speaker cover had dirty boot marks completely across and up and down on it, as though they were pushing my door open with their foot!! The contents of my glove compartment was in shambles, and I found some of the items under the passenger seat! I also observed a fresh scratch (THE ONLY ONE ON THIS VEHICLE) on the rear corner! I cannot even imagine how it would be possible to inflict this amount of abuse simply to change the oil!!! The sheer lack of respect for someone elses property is astounding!! I submitted pictures (the ones I could) to the dealership to verify the extent of damage, and wish I could post them here!!! I will be certain to warn EVERYONE I can about my experience, and would NEVER recommend anyone who values their vehicle take it to this dealership!!! read more

This place is an absolute joke! I dropped my vehcile off at 8am to get an interior detail and tires rotated. Told them I got off work at 3:30 so would like to pick up by then and they told me sure, no problem. I don't hear anything all day. Around 2:30 I start calling, but Gavin, the guy who helped me, would not answer despite several messages. I showed up at 4:00 and they asked if it was under a different name because they couldn't find me. They told me to just hang tight and it "wouldn't be much longer." I didn't get it back for another hour and a half and it wasn't even fully detailed! They didn't even touch the seats which is the whole reason I took it in. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. Over 9 hours for a simple job and they couldn't even do it right. Will never return! read more

Body shop took over one month to complete one week's worth of repair. I called for status twice only to be told that they were on hold because 1) forgot to order a part and 2) waiting on paint. They scheduled the drop off date so they can't use the excuse that they were too busy. And they quoted the work and inspected the vehicle before drop off so they can't use the excuse that they didn't know what parts and paint to order. Do NOT recommend. read more

Requested an alignment was not only promised they would be able to easily align my vehicle but they assured if they couldn't get it aligned it would be fully refunded!.. of course I would agree to that... 8 hours later I was informed the tech broke my camber bushings called me asking for another set 1st red flag... brought him another set ... he called me an hour later "I can't align it I don't have time, it's pulling to the right now, if you want a complete alignment come back later we don't have time ...." Service manager called back saying " oh ya so the charges are 350$ we can't complete the alignment he can't figure out how, if you want it done right we will charge upwards of 700-800$ for another attempt".... I was super pissed truck drove worse then when I gave it to them and they didn't even fund the broken parts total disgrace... was called 3 days later by the service managers director assistant told id be refunded that this has been done to several other people and it's "not okay" never got a call again.... Not only am I pissed but they don't care to be honest. I won't be coming back and I will be filing a formal complaint no one charges labor doesn't finish the job and says " we don't have time"... on top of that their "most experienced tech" called me directly and said bc you gave us those extra bushings later it's to late for us to align it so it's your fault..... first off I told them the canning bushings were the same as the ones I drove in with and are the exact ones needed for that vehicle per manufacturer spec, it's not my fault FORD techs broke 250$ camber bushings then you called for more that was a cop out thing to say. Blame the customer for your mistakes real cool guys real cool. To be honest I think if they had been upfront with me after 2 hours and said hey we don't know how to align your vehicle there won't be any charge besides spending an entire day and make it worse then charging me 350$ blindly for a half way done job and never even offered to fix i wouldn't be so upset. And the worst part is I know what's going to happen with this review I'll get some blanket response that says " thank you for your review we will call you" some BS like that. Sad that stealerships have resulted in this sort of treatment just take your money and screw over the customer. read more

Collision shop sucks! Got an estimate for body repair work from Jerry a month ago. We reviewed the damage but he didn't write anything down. Scheduled the service for today, took the day off and arranged a ride. When I got there, they only had one part of the repair scheduled. Said I would have to come back another time and pay a lot more. I told them you should have gotten it right the first time, as he inspected all of the items that needed to be addressed. I left and told them I would go someplace else where they know what they're doing. Service scheduled with Serra, who are very prompt, thorough, knowledgeable, efficient and professional. Beware if you go to Brighton Ford collision, and make sure they give you a thorough, written estimate before you schedule repairs. read more

When pressed to break down important sales figures so I could understand how he determined residual value, he actually said, "Listen, I've told you over 10 times..." His defensiveness when questioned was revealed when I shopped at Pat Milliken Ford. When it comes to Brighton Ford, A-plan is not A-plan. The price and residual value computation are not universal. Brighton Ford and Jade Orlich will pad the bill and will scam you. Pat Milliken Ford leased me a truck with a sticker price $2000 more with a lease payment $60 a month less. Never do business with Brighton Ford and Jade Orlich. And it is apparent they are not moved by negative reviews. read more

The update is that I had to reach out myself to Troy Hill, who was great. He seemed very professional and understanding and was very apologetic of Mike Bellant's behavior. No direct apology from Mike, though. He did, however, text my family to see if they were going to honor their appointment with him on Monday. Of course not. Why would they want to deal anymore with someone who was so manipulative and condescending to them? The folks at Brighton Ford seem like they try their best to keep a good reputation, but with Mike Bellant on board, to me, that's going to be very difficult. I, personally, have never experienced such mistreatment and disrespect from a "professional" salesman in my life. I strongly recommend against dealing with Mike Bellant if you choose Brighton Ford. My family is still waiting to see if they "will try to make things right," but I'm sure that an apology from a manager will just have to do. read more

Easily the worst service department in the area. Actually, I have never experienced a service department as poor as Brighton Ford's. My truck was "fine" after I experienced a loss of turbos and power. A week later I get a called saying there is no issue. So I take their foreman for a drive and show him. He then misdiagnoses the issue (by a long shot) and says it will take another week to repair. I get my truck back, and voila, the issue is not solved and I am halfway to the UP on 4th of July weekend. I take it back the following Monday and they fail to diagnose the issue again, then finally get it right and replacing the wrong part. Ok great, truck is back to normal, except they tried to make me pay my warranty deductible AGAIN after failing to fix it the first time. "Well in Fords system it is technically fixed." What a joke. No, I did not end up paying again after arguing with the service member. I will never return to Brighton Ford again to buy a vehicle, and have steered multiple coworkers away from this dealership. read more

When I went to the counter inside the service area, I was told I had to check in with one of the guys outside. Apparently the three guys sitting around staring at their phones! I made an appointment for 1:00, and then was told that they "close at 3 today" but would "try to get to it today" WHAT?! Bought 7 vehicles from Nick in sales (he's great) problem is service. I work in quality control for Ford and I cringe every time I have to take it in, stripped oil plugs, broken clips, missing shield bolts on a simple oil change. Told me my 100lb wife was abusing the rear door and that's why the door panel they fixed fell off and broke. Last one was for a air bag recall they broke the wood grain panel on the air bag (chipped big chunks out of it) and had glue all over the seats, console, carpet. They said they will replace the wood but said they can't find one, showed them where to get used one on ebay but they would not. That was about a year ago. They never said they broke anything so take before pictures for any repair you have them do. SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS CONSISTANTLY THE WORST! Bye Brighton Ford! Bait and Switch Lives! I saw an ad in the paper for the Escape SE FWD with a lease payment of $139 over 24 months on the A or Z plan, which I had. However, surprise! When I actually sat down with the salesman the lowest price I could get was actually $247 a month over 36 months, LOL! Talk about bait and switch. Folks, I'm in PR and good PR usually means you exceed expectations, not get them in the door for some false promise of a $139 a month lease (I would gladly pay more, but $247 vs $139???) and try and sell them the much higher lease. That just tends to piss people off. Add to that a high pressure sales manager who wanted me to sign on the dotted line right then and there (Joe Isuzu lives) and it's unlikely I'd return and lease or buy from this place. They said me a lease pull ahead email that says they can pull me out of my 150 lease and put me in another new 150 for about 50 bucks less a month. Two weeks later, they send me another email telling me they can lower my payment over a 100 dollars!!! Sure. I say I'm interested. No call back. I send another reply, the lady sets up an appointment over the phone. He's 25 mins late calling and I'm on another call for work. He calls the following afternoon and tells me he can trade me out of my lease (due up in May) and save me what they indicated in the email. I go in. They're at just about or more a month than I'm paying now. Just a waste of time. I guess I should have known better but Dominique sounded sincere. He pushed me off to another sales person and nothing. If you have friends in the car biz, deal with them... gotta go through my Rolodex and look for friends in the biz... read more

Tried to blame it on us , saying we rushed them. 1st time they had the car over a week. 2nd time 4 days. First things first. I called Tuesday because I was sent a 60000 mile checkup on my 2012 Ford Focus. I had been having issues with the steering wheel vibrating so this was an amazing coincidence. I make an appointment for Thursday at 0830, informing the woman on the telephone that I would need a shuttle to work in Whitmore Lake..."No problem" she says and proceeds to tell me they always have two shuttles running. I arrive at 0820 for my 0830 appointment and was promptly passed up by a service adviser for the gentleman behind me with a 0930 appointment. Ok, this day is off to a roaring start. I then get approached by Curtis, who I'm afraid to say, I previously had a less than joyous experience with trying to get the transmission recall situated. He proceeds to tell me that the extended warranty does not cover this 60000 mile check up and that with the examination for the steering issue my total would be over $400. ARE YOU SERIOUS????? OK, no forget the 60000 mile checkup lets just tackle the actual issue, my steering. Well, he tells me they won't even be able to look at it on Thursday and well guess what..again no loaner cars so I had to hitch a ride down to Enterprise and out of my pocket pay 80.00 per day for a rental. Fast forward to today. I clearly gave Curtis my telephone number, yet he insisted on calling my husband who can not take calls at work. When my husband didn't answer, did Curtis bother to call me? You betcha that's a NO. I called him and left him voicemail at 1110 est and then waited......until 134pm when I finally reached him, he tried to tell me he didn't order the new wheel for my car(bent rim) because he hadn't heard back from anyone..... ARE YOU SERIOUS??????? I'm so aggravated with this entire situation from start to finish it's ridiculous. Curtis then explains that the part(because he never ordered it) will not be in until Tuesday or Wednesday...:Meanwhile, I am paying 80 freaking dollars a day for a rental!!!!!!!!! This is so unacceptable. I have every intention of contacting a manager when I get in there tomorrow to pick up my car(I can not afford to leave it there for 4 more days) because I can't seem to speak to a manager over the phone...this is insane. what horrible service. read more

Just bought my car yesterday, Troy Hill was great to work with! There was no pressure and answered every question I had, or found the answer if they didn't know. I had a horrible experience earlier in the day at Brighton Chrysler, so to find that they were the complete opposite without knowing what happened there was great. Customer service is a must in my book and they've definitely earned a customer! The only downfall to my visit was it took a very long time. I was there for four hours, but they had about 10 people ahead of me getting financed so it wasn't due to them being lazy or slow, they were just really busy. read more

This review is for the collision center! A little back story before I get to Brighton Ford. I'm almost 8 months pregnant and my husband and I decided to move to Brighton from Phoenix, AZ. He grew up in the area, so we knew it's a great place to raise a family. Along the way, we stopped in Amarillo, TX, and St. Louis, MO to sleep. While in St. Louis sleeping, my 2014 Ford Explorer was broken into and vandalized. What luck, right? We called Brighton Ford Collision Center from St. Louis and they told us they would be ready for it when we got into town. We dropped it off first thing the morning after we got there, and Brian Wasdyke was there ready to go. Enterprise picked us up and got us in a rental in no time, and the collision center was so good about keeping us updated with the status of the vehicle. While the vehicle was in the shop, we had quite a few more speed bumps, such as a bladder tank burst, a flooded bathroom, and our moving truck going to Chicago instead of here for no apparent reason. When it rains, it pours! The morning I went to pick up my Explorer, Brian was there again waiting with keys for me. Walking into an establishment to see smiling faces and people excited about being there, makes a HUGE difference in the way customers are treated. Getting into a clean and detailed car was such a wonderful surprise. In Phoenix, dealerships aren't exactly known for their customer service, but Brighton Ford has that quality in the bag. Brian was a phenomenal contact to have if I had any questions. My husband and I will NEVER take our vehicles anywhere except Brighton Ford. I got a 2018 Ford ecosport from Brighton Ford. It is so nice, straight off the showroom floor. It is exactly what I wanted. It is beautiful and runs so nice. I am so happy with it plus it has the automatic starter from their Ford plus app. The guys are so nice there. Khosrow our sales guy was so helpful and did everything to make sure I left with what I wanted at a fair price. I will definitely recommend him, he worked very hard for us. There was a mark on the wheel and I called the dealership and spoke to Artur 'R2' he told me to come in. He changed my wheel, stayed a bit later and had my car detailed again. I will definitely recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for a car. They go above and beyond. Everyone was so nice but R2 and Khosrow really nice and wanted to make sure I was happy. I have purchased 3 new vehicles from Brighton Ford and this last one was the worst transaction ever. My sales rep was great however the finance dept not so much, felt as if my money didn't matter. After I followed through with the purchase I was given a free oil change voucher. When it was time for my first oil change I made appt, arrived 25 minutes early and after waiting over an hour had to go ask how much longer. After the service rep checked on my vehicle I was told it would be at least 30 more minutes before they even get to it, so if I was 30 minutes late for my original appt they said I had to have I still would have been waiting for my vehicle to be taken into the garage. After being informed of the extended wait I decided to leave, the service rep apologized but nothing else for my inconvenience, lost time, wasted mileage and fuel. Only took an hour and a half to get my oil changed which was the good news. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes while I watch my vehicle sit there after it was pulled around. I Had to go find a service tech to ask him if I could leave. He said sure it's no charge as long as you don't want your paperwork you could leave. Yep that's what I call customer service. Less anyone thinks it's just me, while I was waiting two separate people/customers made comments as to how they hated this dealerships service department. 6-12-17 Here for my last prepaid oil change and after 2 yrs this place is still terrible.
