Happ y to finally found a place I can trust. Everyone there is nice and helpful. I've taken a few different vehicles there for service. Upfront about any costs and if they didn't find any issues they let me know. Or if the issue was minor and could wait until bigger problems arise then tackle them all at once. Saved me lots of unneeded spending. Great honest place to do business with. Only con but not really is they're always busy so may take a few days ( not always) to get service if you just drop your vehicle off. I'd recommend appointment if possible. read more

I have had my vehicle in for a power steering leak and told them I thought it was the valve from the power steering reservoir. They called me and said that the leak was from the rack and pinion and the cost would be $1400.00 I picked up my vehicle on a Thursday afternoon and by the time I drove to work 16 miles from my home I had no power steering again! Drop off car again! I spoke to Nate and said to him that they have me driving an unsafe vehicle. Not only was the power steering out, the fluid was all leaking out on to the manifold and was smoking like crazy. That could have led to a fire. I was laughed at . After my third time in with the same issue and a 1400 unnecessary repair. I asked again about the valve and guess what . It was the valve all along. Nothing I said when I took it in was written down or even listened to. I got half my money back but have lost all trust in them!! Rude employees, mechanic's that don't actually look at the original complaint or listen to what the customer has to say about their own vehicles. read more

Called them for a quote for an alignment for a 2009 ford focus. They quoted me 90 bucks over the phone, I made the appointment and stated that's I'd have to wait for it. The guy on the phone was super nice and said no problem. I got there (early for my appointment) and talked to some guy at the front desk who had a chip on his shoulder. I stated to him that I had replaced the passenger side rear "control arm" it's actually more of a trailering arm. This is a known issue in these cars, and I was a mechanic for 15 years. I googled it and it took 5 seconds for me to figure out the issue. After I replaced the part, the steering wheel was cocked and the rear had a weird shake when there was snow on the ground. Told the "tech" all this and he looks at me and says, "sounds like there's loose parts back there" I was pretty taken back. I said, go ahead and diag it and if you can't align it I'll fix it and bring it back. After they had the car for like 20 min, the guy comes out and tells me it's gonna be 150 to align the car because the "bolts need to be headed up".... Apparently these guys haven't worked on cars in Michigan very much. Torches are a Michigan mechanics best friend. Tells me everything was tight but your steering wheel is off so an alignment will take care of that. Yeah... no shit. That's why I brought it here... because I don't have an alignment rack. Dude at the desk tells me that he can't check the alignment because once it's up there he "has" to do it. To put the 4 wheel alignment sensors on the car and set up the machine literally takes 10 minutes and I'd pay for the time it took to diag the shake. Couldn't even do that. When you replace some or most suspension components on most cars, you need an alignment when complete. Clearly either this shop was trying to rip me off or they just aren't competent to perform a simple alignment on a base model super common small 4 cylinder vehicle.... Maybe a little bit of both. All I needed was an alignment. This is Michigan. Cars are dirty and rusty. Suck it up buttercup... start quoting cars at 150 for an alignment. I'll just go back to kovachs frame in brighton where they actually know what they are doing... read more

Well things have changed..Rick has retired. They had my wife's 2006 PT cruiser for 4 weeks and $1500 later and not totally fixed., they gave up! They told her to come and pick it up. It runs sort of but turbo does not. If your car needs high tech people this may not be the place to take your car. Probably OK for bakes and oil changes... Would not recommend for any high tech problems. read more

Honesty and integrity are absolutes, rare and to be rewarded. Rick runs a stand-up business based on his own personality and values. I've been doing my own performance upgrades and the vast majority of required maintenance for several decades because I was never satisfied with the quality of work performed by "professionals" . That changed when I learned more about this business's reputation around town - which is spotless. I still do a lot of my own work, but when circumstances make that a bad decision (as during today's sub-zero cold weather) I always go to Howell Auto Center. Today that work was a four wheel brake job. After 25 years as a brake engineer I've never had anyone else do such work for me, but based on the results (combined with my other experience with this company) I am 100% satisfied with their work, as usual, and even more so with their business ethics. read more

I waited a few weeks after getting my brake pads and rotors replaced before giving feedback. My Jeep drives smooth after replacing them. They were great about having me come in that same day when I probably should've at least called the day before. read more

If you want to get ripped off go here. Also, if you like rude service I'd highly recommend this place. The woman who works there has no people skills and flew off the handle at me. Tried saying that she had given a quote when she did not. They acted like they are the only auto repair shop in the state. I pray they go out of business. But if they treat everyone as poorly as I was treated, if they went out of business it wouldn't surprise me a bit. I feel sorry for anyone who steps foot in their door. read more
