Warning to Piano Owners! In 2023, my beloved Yamaha P22 piano, along with many others, was stolen from Reno, NV by Brigham Larson Pianos. Here's my story: In October 2022, I placed my Yamaha P22 T-186708 on consignment at Carpenter's Music World in Reno. Fast forward to October 2023, I received a shocking letter from Brigham Larson, stating that Carpenter's had gone out of business. Without my knowledge or consent, Larson picked up my piano, loaded it into a truck, and transported it to Utah. I had a valid consignment contract for $3800, but Larson's letter offered me a measly $500 upon sale, or suggested I pick up my piano and start paying storage fees! When I confronted him, Larson claimed ignorance about the consignment status of the pianos and refused to truck them back to Reno, citing costs. Despite his claims, Larson's own website features a detailed video showcasing my piano, praising its high quality and condition. If these were vehicles, Larson's actions would be criminal. In January after a move from Oregon to Nephi, Utah, with two upright pianos, I searched the internet to find a reputable tuner in our general area. I was having difficulty, especially after a person was referred to us and I was then unable to locate him. Having passed Brigham Larsen Pianos in our travels north of Nephi, I went online and was very impressed with the story of the store and the services they offer. After making an initial call and being told that they did not service Nephi, the person called me back and said that they would be glad to come for a small travel fee, which I was very willing to pay. Jacob became our advisor and tuner, also replacing a broken string and doing more voicing as was needed. He also waved the travel fee. In the future I think I would ask more questions about the estimates and charges we could expect from the various services. That was not really discussed and was my responsibility to ask in more detail so as not to be surprised when the job was completed. I am fully satisfied and happy with the work that was done. As he is both a piano technician and enthusiast for over twenty years, i found him to be very knowledgeable in my search for the instrument i would come to take home. Brigham Larson piano moving service did an excellent job moving my grand piano. This is the second time they have moved my piano. They used extreme care when moving my instrument. The move was particularly difficult because of some snow and ice on the path to the moving truck so they called a third mover just to be sure they kept the piano safe through the ordeal. The movers did an excellent job moving our grand piano. They took great care in placing it in exactly the right right place for the best sound, polished it to a shine before they left, and were very polite and courteous. This man stole consignment pianos from a store selling its inventory in Reno Nevada. He knew that the owners were not notified and still moved them across state lines. Then told the owners of the pianos that he would give them 10% of their value or charge a storage fee. This is criminal and this man needs to go to prison for grand larceny . read more
