Evan is an excellent craftsman at the Piano. I'm sure my piano hadn't been tuned/repaired in 30+ years, and he did a fantastic job. He even came back twice more to install and adjust a new string for me. One visit was months later, once the string had stretched a bit. He was happy to come back and retune it for me. Communication: Evan's work is closer to art than prescribed work. Some jobs take longer than others, and Evan gave excellent notices (via text or call) for changes in schedule, etc. Skill: My piano had a broken string, a broken leg, sticking keys, and 1/2" of dust under the keyboard. Evan didn't flinch, and tackled each problem with confidence. Attention: He noticed the other instruments in the room, and he talked to me about how his tuning would bring my piano to true A440, making my other tuned instruments jive with the piano. If he's running slightly late it is because he is so thorough and will do the same for you. I was gifted a used piano last Christmas and was able to finally move it into my home this past month. 2 keys were not working and I expected that the pins might have become loose. 5 stars is not nearly enough to describe how amazing a job Evan did. He was professional, clean, and courteous. I used his webpage to send an email requesting a quote. Evan replied within an hour. We scheduled a time and he came out to tune and pitch raise my piano. My wife got sick, and I had to take her to the Dr. and Evan was very understanding and came out 2 hours after his scheduled appointment, changing his schedule around to accommodate me. When he arrived he got right to work! I opted to stay in the room with him and watch what he did out of curiosity, and he spent a lot of time explaining what he was doing and why. He gave me quite a few pointers on maintenance, good housekeeping practices(like not putting the piano over a house A/C vent), and just made me feel like a valued customer, something that has gotten away from a lot of businesses these days. Evan spent more time than he needed to making sure my piano was in perfect tune! I could tell that he wasn't rushed even though we got such a late start time. He really made sure my piano was in perfect pitch! AND he did all kinds of things for free!!! For instance, there was 3 keys that clicked when played. Evan adjusted two of them, the third he ended up pulling out the key and found a screw underneath it. This took him some time and he should have charged me for it, but he didn't! I honestly would have been happy to pay him twice what I did for the quality of work and his level of professionalism, which is to say he's very competitively priced and it is worth every penny!
