The building has a strong automotive history from being a Ford Dealership, a Service Garage, and an Auto Parts store, and today operates as a vendor mall. They have what looked like to be at least 20 or so vendors operating booths in this store. Each carries different things from, clothes, to books, toys, decor, purses/bags, cards, yard art, cooking utensils, and more. The selection is largely geared towards tourists, but locals will find items here as well. It appeared all items were new, so don't mistake this for like an antique mall or craft/artist mall. They items in here are pretty much more widely available, which takes some uniqueness away from the place. Pricing varied but they had items that matched almost all price points. Overall this place is worth a visit and with the variety of items, most can find something here either for themselves or for a gift. It is an easy visit right on Main street and only has two aisles so it won't take a long time to see everything they are offering.

I didn't blame her she was just a little inexperienced & I was told they were short staffed for a few hours for an issue; I just came back on a week day. Magic Pen and Party is a great boutique to order or custom design your invitations. They have a large selection of invitations (better than most places), however after reviewing books upon books of invitations, I had a hard time finding my wedding colors, pistachio green and orange. I already formed an opinion of the things I liked in invitations, such as fold out with pockets, certain colors & metallic paper. So the associate suggested custom invitations. I worked with both Tiffany and the owner, Mary, depending who was working in the store that day. They are both great, gave undivided attention and had fabulous ideas. They worked with me on the font, size, design, layout, you name it. You can tell they enjoy what they do and seem to like the creativeness and working with people. Needless to say I was a bit high maintenance when it came to my invitations but they were gracious and even stayed late one night to finalize the project. I went ahead and paid for assembly as I had too many other concerns than to assemble them myself but but it was NICE option that I could do it myself and save some money if need be. The result? A fabulous invitation that I absolutely LOVED! The invitations were very unique to me, with a little bling, gorgeous fonts and they stood out on the mail, as I like to have a little flair. ; ) Magic Party and Pen - Great service, great invitations.

We just stopped in looking for something to keep warm when we had visited the parade of lights downtown. They had stayed open late for all the locals out and about celebrating the festivities (smart!). The staff was very friendly and gave us a price quote on a poncho that had a hidden price tag. When we went to ring it up, we finally found the tag and the employee has misquoted us by ten dollars. She just smiled and said "I'll still give it to you for 39!". Very friendly and willing to please her customers. We mostly visited the front of the shop which seemed to be the "treasure" part of the store. Perhaps the antiques are more at the back end, I didn't really have too much time to look thoroughly. However, there were tons of goodies, trinkets and lots of eclectic gifts (drunk piglet wine holder anyone?) to survey. Definitely a place to take a gander!

Discovering new bookstores during my travels has become a new passion of mine, so when I checked…read morefor indie bookstores in the DFW area, Talking Animals Books was one of the first to pop up. From the few photos and the name, I thought it would be more of a children's bookstore but I was so wrong. As soon as you enter, the amazing staff welcomes you and is eager to help you find any books you are looking for. Right at the entrance they had the fantasy and romance section which is a personal favorite, and I immediately found a couple of books that have been on my list. I absolutely LOVED that they had self published books from indie authors, which is so rare to find at any local bookstore (you usually have to wait for them to be re-published by a publisher to find them anywhere besides Amazon). They also have a children's section which is super cute, and I found a couple of things for my little one. On the top floor they have a couple of couches for you to hang out and a section of used books. Frankly, this was one of the best bookstores I found in the DFW area, and I can't wait to come back and support them!

They have a great selection of the Nora Flemming minis, stoneware, etc. Master of fact, I was just there this week purchasing more of the Nora Flemming stuff for another friend's birthday. I then wasn't sure what I wanted the message to say, and she said I could think it over and let her know. I called Saturday morning and gave her the message for the card. Christina was ready to take down the message and make sure it got put with the flowers we ordered. The flowers were delivered by noon Saturday and were gorgeous! They did send a photo, which I appreciate, but I was surprised when I saw the arrangement. it looked so regular, not particularly large and not premium, in my opinion. If you are curious about value and price, I attached my invoice and a photo of the $270 arrangement. I have had so many better experiences with shops all over, and i always make an extra effort to order directly from small flower shops and find that most places over deliver and exceed my expectations. Really disappointed as i wanted this arrangement to be extra special!
