I am from California and was visiting Dallas last week. Of course I can't come to Dallas without…read morestopping at talking out of turn! I have been a long time, supporter of the online store! Fun girly products with occasional much necessary profanity! When my friend was one of the people to get laid off from the bigger corporations, I got her a cup from here that really made her day. It said, "fu*k this sh*t!" I got tons of pins and cute cards as well as a bag for traveling that I have been eyeing for a long time . They also had a couple of value sections throughout the store that were amazing! The lady in the store was super helpful and really sweet! It happened to be raining really hard that day, and she helped me to protect my products since we were very dedicated to still walking around in the rain. As a designer, even if you don't purchase anything just walking through here is very inspiring. There are a lot of great design designers that work on the stuff in here if you enjoy girly badass vibes!

The store is SO CUTE AND BRIGHT. Lots of profanity and sarcasm items. Super girly. And they let you…read moretest the pens! I walked away with 4 and some stickers. I couldn't justify the prices for some of it, $65 for a lavender canvas style bag that says "Let's go bitch". (And the smaller bags are still basically the same price). $28 dollars for an insulated cup maybe holds 16-18oz?. $14 for a SINGLE pair of socks. Again, I walked away with 4 pens and a sticker sheet so it wasn't a total lost. But this seems more like a nic nac store than a stationary store.

So, is it called 1976 because many believe it is the most consequential year in the history of modern China? (It's Chinese-American owned). Or is the birth year of one of the Law family siblings? I'd guess it's bridging old school 1976 analog craftsmanship with the digital revolution-led letterpress and screen printing, since the store is the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, with a fully operational letterpress studio (they produce their own stationery), housing vintage, antique printing presses. They also curate independent art and host hands-on workshops. So, the name We Are 1976 suggests a collective identity rooted in a specific era, and their tagline "our dear assembly" is likely their way of saying, "This is the group of people, machines, and beautiful objects we have gathered together." Honestly, I just went in looking for a bathroom. They are 1976 but I was #2.

Frankly I was awed by how beautiful the area was and the attention to detail in the surrounding architecture. Gift is located right in the center of it and shares the space with a nail salon. They have a small but mighty variety of items, including home decor, purses, jewelry, cards and much more. You can tell everything in the store is uniquely curated. I found some brands I really love that I hadn't seen in a few years. Last but not least, the employee working at the store was kind and walked us through some of the items they carry. Overall, a really beautiful shopping experience.

When I walked in I was greeted by Esther and Jazmin who were available to answer any questions that I had. They have a floral area where you can select dried or fresh flowers by the strand, jewelry, hair accessories, cards, shoes, home decor, candles and clothes. The atmosphere is relaxed with upbeat music playing in the background. Esther mentioned upcoming workshops that will take place next door. They offer gift wrapping and will wrap your flowers which is a lovely touch. I picked up some dried flowers and a card. They encouraged me to explore local shops across from them. They have a small parking lot in the front and street parking is available. I look forward to returning when I'm in the area.
