I've been going to this PetSmart for several years. The customer service has been up and down, but…read moremore recently, it's been down. I always sort my wet food cans by flavor so the cashier can more easily scan the cans. A previous cashier (who provided good customer service) once thanked me for that. Some cashiers then just place the cans into the bag, keeping them relatively orderly, whereas increasingly, I've gotten cashiers who just toss them into the bag in a big "mess." Not the biggest deal in the world, but it's annoying. How hard is it to just place the cans in the bag? The cashier I ran into yesterday was....not great at customer service. I definitely felt like it was an inconvenience that I was even there. She of course tossed all those cans into the bag, which I had to ask for in the first place. She gets the prize for roughest tossing. I had a coupon for one of the items. When I got out to my car, I discovered the coupon didn't take. I went back in to tell her and I was met with an attitude. She pulled the coupon back out and got her manager. He seemed annoyed by the whole thing as well. He immediately accused her of giving me the coupon back, asking her something like, "Why does she have it?" I didn't, she did. But obviously I would want it back if it didn't take. The manager did honor the coupon, which I appreciated, but there was a rough attitude there. No wonder the cashier was rude as well? I left feeling really uncomfortable, and don't plan on returning any time soon. (I also left feeling slightly concerned about any animals in their care. If that's how they treat a human who can leave reviews, how do they treat animals without voices? Hopefully they like the animals better than the annoying human customers.)

Jody was on a list of trainers I received from a local labrador rescue. Social Tailwaggers looked like just what I was looking for. I needed to change my mindset and learn the basics of how positive reinforcement works. Jody was a very patient and relaxed teacher who made each class fun and interesting, and pointed out a couple of things I did that Maverick didn't like, such as snapping my fingers close to his face. I wish I had attended Basic Manners soon after Maverick first came to live with me. I am now more confident and patient when working with Maverick and I have taken what I learned and used it to train other behaviors. I'm very happy with what I learned and Maverick's improvement during the course. I hope to attend the Intermediate or Advanced Manners class with Jody and to eventually prepare Maverick to achieve Canine Good Citizen. Our bond is stronger than ever.

I do not think I can adequately express how knowledgeable, helpful and thorough Jody was throughout the consultation. She provided evidence-based articles to explain her training practices and recommendations, resources such as handouts and examples of each toy she recommended and how it helps your new pup. We have been so grateful for her support and will be taking her puppy socialization class later this month and are interested in participating in others. Highly recommend Social Tailwaggers!

It was especially important that I find a good trainer to address these behaviors because there are so many people out there ready to judge pit bulls, and, well, who likes being dragged around by their dog? A friend recommended Bark Busters and I was really grateful for the referral because I was worried that I'd end up with a trainer that would be rough with my dog, Bear, or would over-rely on treats, or that would just be expensive without results. I went to the Bark Busters website and filled out the survey about my dog's behaviors and within an hour I got a call from a Bark Busters trainer. While the quote she gave me seemed very expensive at first, she explained that this one-time fee covered all of the training Bear would ever need--for life! If he ever had future issues I could just call and set up an appointment and we'd work on whatever the issue was. So I bit the bullet and set up our initial appointment. What a GRAND day! In just two hours ALL of Bear's problem behaviors were addressed. He won't race to get up and down steps before me, he barks very little and stops instantly when I tell him to, he stays away from the door when people knock, and he HEELS like the most perfect little angel on our walks. It's incredible. Marsha Engel was a real professional--she explained dogs' perception of things in a way that made sense and helped me understand how to interact with Bear in the most effective way. I couldn't be happier with Bark Busters and Marsha. If you need your dog trained call Bark Busters.

Our very first interaction was great...his energy was wonderful...he did not disappoint! He was very methodical with his approach...explaining every step of the process...very engaging...constant updates of the Boyz progress...videos, photos...wait! The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. As a responsible pet owner, I want to make sure that there is consistency and an expectation that my Boyz are well behaved and well mannered. Which means I have to do the work. Funny, as I was driving home from our final session, I was so tempted to take them on a short walk because I knew it would be enjoyable. But decided to wait until morning... I'm so excited to be able to have an enjoyable walk with these guys... less scolding and more bonding. Well worth the time and financial commitment. Thank you OLK9 Maryland for bringing additional joy to our home... things are definitely more "manageable". I'm really looking forward to our walks, especially since there will be NO more pulling! Can't wait to be able to take them to the "brick and mortar" with me once it's open! "Life Changing K9 Training"

I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.

I only found out when I got home and saw the cut myself. The haircut was awful on top of that, completely uneven and sloppy. It looked like she did it blindfolded. Then the manager, Kimberly, tried to make it right by offering to groom my dog personally (and complementary) next time. I should have trusted my gut and taken the refund, but silly me, I gave them another chance. And it was the biggest mistake ever. My dog has a few mats, sure, but in the three years I've had her, no groomer has ever shaved her face and ears. Kimberly took it upon herself to do just that, for absolutely no reason. She butchered my baby's face and ears, leaving her looking completely ridiculous. When I picked her up, Kimberly actually said, "Well, I saved more hair than last time, right?" Like it was a joke! I am beyond disgusted. These people are lazy, unprofessional, and completely careless. They don't care about your pet, only getting the job done fast and moving on. My poor dog looks traumatized and nothing like herself. I will NEVER bring her here again. If you love your pet even a little, stay far away from Petco and definitely avoid Keena and Kimberly. They should be ashamed of themselves.

She was timely in sending the onboarding paperwork, and completing the set-up was easy. She set up a Zoom call (since my request for service was only 2 days away), and "met" me and my dog virtually. It was perfect. Every day while I was away, one of Prance Around's team members showed up during my specified window and walked my dog for 45 minutes. I received a custom walk report via email every day following the walk, and it usually included pictures. I LOVE that feature! While on vacation, a family member became critically ill and required hospitalization immediately upon our return to the US. I was able to email Prance Around and extend service for an additional week without any problems. Our service commitment ended, and only a few short days later, my family member was back in the hospital. With only a day's notice, I was able to contact Prance Around and get my dog back on their schedule. No hassles. No problems. Joelyne and her crew are incredibly kind, generous, and empathetic. It has been such a relief to know that I can call on them to take care of my girl and not have any worries. I would, without hesitation, absolutely recommend Prance Around Pet Services, and I will continue to use them as our needs arise. Thank you, Joelyne, for making these last two weeks a lot less stressful and for taking such good care of my girl!
