I've been going to this PetSmart for several years. The customer service has been up and down, but…read moremore recently, it's been down. I always sort my wet food cans by flavor so the cashier can more easily scan the cans. A previous cashier (who provided good customer service) once thanked me for that. Some cashiers then just place the cans into the bag, keeping them relatively orderly, whereas increasingly, I've gotten cashiers who just toss them into the bag in a big "mess." Not the biggest deal in the world, but it's annoying. How hard is it to just place the cans in the bag? The cashier I ran into yesterday was....not great at customer service. I definitely felt like it was an inconvenience that I was even there. She of course tossed all those cans into the bag, which I had to ask for in the first place. She gets the prize for roughest tossing. I had a coupon for one of the items. When I got out to my car, I discovered the coupon didn't take. I went back in to tell her and I was met with an attitude. She pulled the coupon back out and got her manager. He seemed annoyed by the whole thing as well. He immediately accused her of giving me the coupon back, asking her something like, "Why does she have it?" I didn't, she did. But obviously I would want it back if it didn't take. The manager did honor the coupon, which I appreciated, but there was a rough attitude there. No wonder the cashier was rude as well? I left feeling really uncomfortable, and don't plan on returning any time soon. (I also left feeling slightly concerned about any animals in their care. If that's how they treat a human who can leave reviews, how do they treat animals without voices? Hopefully they like the animals better than the annoying human customers.)

It was especially important that I find a good trainer to address these behaviors because there are so many people out there ready to judge pit bulls, and, well, who likes being dragged around by their dog? A friend recommended Bark Busters and I was really grateful for the referral because I was worried that I'd end up with a trainer that would be rough with my dog, Bear, or would over-rely on treats, or that would just be expensive without results. I went to the Bark Busters website and filled out the survey about my dog's behaviors and within an hour I got a call from a Bark Busters trainer. While the quote she gave me seemed very expensive at first, she explained that this one-time fee covered all of the training Bear would ever need--for life! If he ever had future issues I could just call and set up an appointment and we'd work on whatever the issue was. So I bit the bullet and set up our initial appointment. What a GRAND day! In just two hours ALL of Bear's problem behaviors were addressed. He won't race to get up and down steps before me, he barks very little and stops instantly when I tell him to, he stays away from the door when people knock, and he HEELS like the most perfect little angel on our walks. It's incredible. Marsha Engel was a real professional--she explained dogs' perception of things in a way that made sense and helped me understand how to interact with Bear in the most effective way. I couldn't be happier with Bark Busters and Marsha. If you need your dog trained call Bark Busters.

Our very first interaction was great...his energy was wonderful...he did not disappoint! He was very methodical with his approach...explaining every step of the process...very engaging...constant updates of the Boyz progress...videos, photos...wait! The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. As a responsible pet owner, I want to make sure that there is consistency and an expectation that my Boyz are well behaved and well mannered. Which means I have to do the work. Funny, as I was driving home from our final session, I was so tempted to take them on a short walk because I knew it would be enjoyable. But decided to wait until morning... I'm so excited to be able to have an enjoyable walk with these guys... less scolding and more bonding. Well worth the time and financial commitment. I wasted over $1,000 to unknowingly abuse my dog through Off Leash K9. I sought help because my dog…read morewas reactive toward other dogs, loud vehicles, and people. I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.

But with the last litter box purchase it seems that the only place that is a brick and mortar store is a Petco, unless I go the route of online shopping. It has been hit and miss when showing up to a location in hopes to finding items for the litter box. Sometimes they have the items, but other times I have to travel further or order online. Walking in here, I didn't have high hope because of that. I was in luck this day, the item I needed was in stock and I was able to grab it and go. Well, go at a leisurely pace that is. Somewhere there's a lawyer who's never met a dog and decided the real threat to this business is the guy who's paid them loyally for three years. You carefully fill out the entire grooming form online, pick every option -- then show up and they shove a paper copy across the counter to sign the exact same thing again. And after all that paperwork, they still claim they don't have the phone number they've had on file for three years and called me on before. Let's put this in perspective. I can order dinner to my door in two taps -- Reorder, Apple Pay, done. A stranger drives hot food across town on the strength of my thumbprint. But dropping off dogs these people have known for three years apparently requires a signing ceremony and a fresh liability waiver every single visit. In 2026, that's not caution. That's a business that's forgotten how to trust its own customers. And then there's the membership -- the crown jewel of contempt. They took a system that worked and actively torched it. Gone are the daycare credit packs: fair, flexible, buy-what-you-need, the way a business treats people it respects. In their place, a pricier monthly "membership" that auto-drafts your card whether your dog walks through the door or not, with no rollover for the days you paid for and never used. Read that again: you pay, they keep it, your dog gets nothing, and they call it a perk. It's not a membership -- it's a standing withdrawal from your bank account with a bow on it. It punishes the exact people who kept this place in business: the regulars whose lives don't run on a fixed weekly schedule. Some months my dogs come once, some months five times, because that's how actual life works -- and this program is built to make sure I lose either way. It doesn't serve pets. It doesn't serve owners. It serves a spreadsheet, and it treats every loyal customer as a recurring charge to be maximized rather than a person to be valued. It is, top to bottom, the most openly hostile "loyalty" scheme I've ever been asked to fund. When customers spend more time signing forms and fighting your billing than petting their dogs, you're not a pet resort -- you're a law firm with a kennel attached. Take your pets somewhere that still remembers what the word "customer" means.

At security checkpoint, we were separated we had to go through one at a time. I commanded her to sit and wait for me. When it was her turn, from a distance, I then signaled her to walk through the machine very slowly then wait, when security cleared her I signaled her to come and sit beside me. She did an amazing job going through that checkpoint. Her public access training kicked in, she was not phased by noise and totally focused on my commands. Vinc is an outstanding dog trainer.

My initial call was returned quickly, and Joelyne was friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about meeting my dog. She was timely in sending the onboarding paperwork, and completing the set-up was easy. She set up a Zoom call (since my request for service was only 2 days away), and "met" me and my dog virtually. It was perfect. Every day while I was away, one of Prance Around's team members showed up during my specified window and walked my dog for 45 minutes. I received a custom walk report via email every day following the walk, and it usually included pictures. I LOVE that feature! While on vacation, a family member became critically ill and required hospitalization immediately upon our return to the US. I was able to email Prance Around and extend service for an additional week without any problems. Our service commitment ended, and only a few short days later, my family member was back in the hospital. With only a day's notice, I was able to contact Prance Around and get my dog back on their schedule. No hassles. No problems. Joelyne and her crew are incredibly kind, generous, and empathetic. It has been such a relief to know that I can call on them to take care of my girl and not have any worries.
