Visited BRICS with an Indiana native who had never heard of this ice cream shop. To him, I say "you're welcome" because BRICS was pretty awesome... I tried a number of flavors but settled on the French Silk, which was a really nice, creamy chocolate. The flavors were solid... nothing mind-blowing, but very tasty. They give you the ice cream samples on actual spoons... not the little disposable spoons (i'm a sucker for little touches like this). Also they are situated right off of the Monon trail and have a big, adorable back porch where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream while watching the walker, joggers and bikers do what you should be doing if you weren't lazily stuffing your face with ice cream. All in all, I had a really pleasant evening at BRICS and enjoyed my cone thoroughly. That being said, the flavors weren't that interesting... They were typical, but well executed. If they had more inventive flavors. I'd be happy to give 5 stars. Either way, I'm excited to go back on my next trip to Indy! read more

All I can say is the blackberry ice cream will bring me back every time! Great location for people watching right on the monon. They give generous scoops and big glasses of water so you can leisurely enjoy your treat. read more

If you like rich and creamy ice cream, Brics has it mastered. Brics is dog friendly! Bring your pooch and he/she will receive a frozen treat all of their own. It is made of frozen yogurt, peanut butter and honey, then frozen into the shape of a bone. People watching while eating my ice cream faster than it can melt is my favorite thing to do at Brics. It is right off the Monon Trail so plenty of action to see! read more

i miss going inside the building since covid. but i've noticed the workers have a solid system going on at the window. i have a small lactose allergy and their vegan ice cream is surprisingly very good! if you don't like coconut (i do) don't get the coconut cream based ice cream, the taste of coconuts is definitely present. Whenever i do get anything else im always happy!! (with milk or not) sitting outside, people watching on the monon cannot complain. this is the place i often take friends/family visiting, or just a last stop after being on the monon looveeee bragging about this spot read more

They have great ice cream with a variety of flavors. Bring your dog, sit outside, pick out a fun ice cream flavor, and people watch on the Monon trail. read more

Everything about this place is awesome. They have gluten free cookies that they will heat up and serve you with a scoop of ice cream. The ice cream is good. They scenery is nice - sit on the porch and watch people walk by on the Monon Trail. They bring you water as you eat your ice cream. And water bowls for dogs. read more

Brics is great! So many flavors, fantastic and friendly service, and a perfect location right off the Monon. With all the choices, I don't think I've ever gotten the same flavor twice and I've definitely never been disappointed. The patio is great for people-watching, and they've got a walk-up window specifically for people there with their dogs. On top of that, they bring out home-made dog treats for your canine companion. Definitely a winning establishment in my book! read more

The staff is always friendly and the flavors are great, especially the vegan options (my dairy allergy thanks you!). I came by the trail-side service window Friday and despite other customers making a scene the staff was patient with them and helped my partner and me efficiently at the same time. Love this place! read more

I love coming here on random afternoons to watch the foot traffic on the Monon while enjoying a scoop or two of delicious ice cream. I've never disliked a flavor I've gotten and my 1.5yr old loves them all (of course!). They do offer a student "happy hour" after school which I thought was neat! Pricing is reasonable and their flavors are always rotating to reflect the seasons. As I said, I like to grab a table on their patio and watch the traffic on the Monon. It makes for a perfect quiet afternoon. I can't wait for warmer weather to get outside and enjoy their ice cream and patio again. There is parking space available for customers too, which is nice in this area where parking can sometimes be hard to find. read more

We have been coming here for years. Always a family favorite. Sitting on the deck eating ice cream watching the people go by on the monon can't be beat. read more

Once again this place does not disappoint. It was busy as heck tonight and the still took care of us in an expedite manner. The girl behind the counter was very patient with my friend who has a peanut allergy and willing to spend time with him. Worth the drive. Will visit again. read more

Brics - This is a MEDIUM SUNDAE!!!! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

Good ice cream, good staff, fun atmosphere! We have probably been to this location a dozen times and we have never had a bad experience.

The Good- Awesome location for this broad ripple ice cream shop right next to the Monon trail. Stopping here after a run or during a walk on a hot day is amazing. My personal favorite is their salted caramel in a waffle cone! The Bad- n/a The Ugly- The one time I dropped my ice cream outside read more

Hometown fantastic. This little gem is tucked away but well worth the trek. The peanut butter chocolate was superb. If I had one change it would be that I had more room in my tummy to eat more. Delish. So Worth It! read more

Great Service. Great flavors. I've pistachio, strawberry, yellow cake batter/fudge, and blackberry. Usually blackberry is my favorite, but my new favorite is yellow cake batter fudge was my favorite. read more

The staff is really nice and pleasant. The ice cream honestly tasted like ice cream ‍ nothing special but delicious just the same. Additional topping costs are reasonable and I even got a cone with it! read more

The Broad Ripple Blackberry was delicious! They had a lot of diverse flavors, which I appreciated. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the teenaged servers weren't so friendly, more interested in talking to each other than the customers. read more

This is my favorite ice cream stop. The place is always packed on a warm night and the staff works hard to keep up with the line. They will let you sample the ice cream before you commit to a flavor. The staff sometimes carries around glasses of water to hand out which is nice. There's only a handful of parking spots available so be prepared to walk a little bit. There is a dog friendly patio so bring your best friend and walk the Monon before/after your stop! read more

One of my favorite stops for ice cream! All of their flavors are delicious. They've always got something seasonal to offer as well. My most recent visit was dark chocolate choo choo...I'll definitely order that one again. read more

Brics - Dark chocolate choo choo - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

Although the location is great, inside the store was hectic and unorganized. The ice cream flavor options were great, but nothing overtly special or unique. The service was not great. There was no greeting from the man who took my order. In fact, he never uttered a word to me and the entire encounter was rather awkward. A decent place for ice cream if you're around, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get ice cream here. read more

My fiancé and I LOVE Brics!! We moved to the area last year and this is our go-to ice cream spot. We both love the yellow cake batter ice cream and I like to add cookie dough ice cream to mine ! In a waffle cone of course. Everyone is always super friendly and they are efficient so you can get in, out, and start enjoying your ice cream ! read more

We stopped here last night for some ice cream for the first time, and we will NEVER be going back. While using the restroom, an employee banged on the door, unlocked it, and opened it. I had been trying to yell the whole time that someone was in there to no avail. The employee then went back to work leaving the door unlocked and unguarded for anyone to open the door and walk in on me again. When I asked for a supervisor, I was originally told that I could have a business card to contact and then the young lady went to the back but came back without anyone. Someone did come talk to me, but I was too upset at that point for the situation to be fixed. This was handled very poorly. read more

Great ice cream; it's made by a dairy farm in Michigan. I had a Monon split, which is a banana split with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream. I substituted those flavors with red velvet (YUM!), yellow cake batter and Superman (a mix of three flavors). It was very good. The staff was nice and friendly. I would give Brics 5 stars if the prices were cheaper. $7.75 is too much money for a banana split. read more

Amazing variety and choice of ice cream. Silk chocolate was one of the best and quite a few options for chocolates as well. Overall a great ice cream parlour. read more

Delicousness! I get the kid size scoop, love the orange pineapple flavor! Yummy and love their service, they bring u water while you are sitting outside on the patio. Ill be a frequent customer! read more

This was the best place for ice cream for a longtime but now their ice cream is just BAD! The only thing they have going for them is location. It's just sad that they had to change suppliers to a lackluster product. read more

Just YUM. When I was little, my grandmother and I used to split dishes of lemon ice cream from our favorite local mom & pop shop. I haven't had lemon ice cream since and found myself craving it lately. Imagine my delight when Husband and I happened upon Brics and they had a lovely lemon custard sitting in their freezer case. A scoop of that on a sugar cone put a very big smile on my face!! I was absolutely delicious and the staff was just fan-freakin-tastic. I was even having a good time standing in line with the other customers, everybody had smiles. Such a happy place and experience. I can't wait to return and try more flavors. read more

If there is one problem the Indianapolis food scene has had, it's a lack of better than average ice creameries. Brics does not add to this problem. The atmosphere made me feel like I was on vacation. It is right off of the Monon Trail (more like on top of it). This used to be a rail station and it has kept the same character. Order inside by taking a number or wait in line to order at the outside window. The flavor variety was fantastic and led to some hard decision making. If you have trouble deciding then get a Tour De Brics, your choice of four flavors for a little more than your two scoop cone. I enjoyed my apple crisp ice cream and I also liked the Caramel 3x my Dad had. My only issue with Brics is that it is too far away to go to weekly! read more

I have been to BRICS a few times now but my last visit was the finest. Although it was very busy on a Tuesday evening, they had enough staff to handle the traffic with ease. There was a simple take a number system, and after we got our much delicious ice cream an employee brought us water and spoons to our table. Certainly a bit of surprise and delight there. The ice cream itself is quite good as well. I entertained the cookie dough on my last visit and it stacks up with the best of them. The ideal location, atmosphere and customer service are enough to keep me coming back. read more

This place is really cute, and way trendy. However the icecream flavors were just okay... I may be really spoiled when it comes to icecream but even Ben and Jerry's flavors are more adventurous. If you like basic flavors the place is good. I had the Red Velvet cake, but nothing to special about it. In terms of adventurous I want things like Mexican Chocolate, kaluha, salted Oreo, or salted anything! That salty and savory are the best ice cream flavors! I honestly would have rather bought a pint at the grocery. read more

I love this place. It's definitely a new favorite. I'm upset I either missed the lemon custard or it wasn't there but there are soooo many choices it's crazy. They let you try whatever you want to make sure you get what you're craving and the ladies working there are super nice. I don't know if its a slogan they must say but each worker said "my pleasure" whenever you said thank you. Just awesome. Who can go wrong with ice cream? Well it's not this place. you should definitely try it! read more

Located right next to the Monon trail this quiant little store is a wonderful place for eating icecream under a warm summer night. They offer lots of flavors andy personal favorite - chocolate choo choo. It is a nice velvety dark chocolate icecream with a mixture of crush dark chocolate pieces. A simple bite sucks you into a crunchy, chocolatey whirlwind of dark passion that perfectly complements the mysterious stars blanketing the warm summer evening. But i divulge. SERIOUSLY! try the chocolate choo choo icecream. It's worth it. read more

The ice cream is good. But not great. Portions are HUGE - the single scoop is really like four scoops. Nonetheless, friendly service and nice to get some ice cream and then walk along the trail while you enjoy it. read more

I've been to BRICs about half a dozen times, almost always as a self-defeating post-workout treat. The location is perfect, they're pet friendly (and more generally just friendly people!), have a water bottle filling station, and the owner puts hilarious little blurbs on the sign outside ("Teach your children about taxes. Eat 30% of their ice cream.") It also helps that the ice cream is DELICIOUS. Less of a fan of their shakes, especially in light of some service yesterday: I went in with a couple of friends after a bike ride and we all ordered one. The first friend's (chocolate on chocolate) came out perfect - filled to the brim and utterly delicious. Mine was up 2nd, and I'll cop to being a little finnicky: I ordered vanilla ice cream with oreos added because cookies and cream-based shakes just don't quite have the texture and little chunks of oreos... but the resulting product was blended/mixed to the point that the oreos were pureed and it made no difference at the end. Worse - and I was shocked as I watched this happen - the staff member making mine seemed to underpour it (~15% missing), then after handing it to me with a smile, grabbed a spoon and walked into the back, reappearing 30 seconds later with an even-larger smile on her face and a presumably-emptier container that was promptly placed into the sink and rinsed. A $6-7 malt (after the oreo add-in and tax), missing 15% of it was mildly disappointing; missing 15% of it because one of the employees wanted a snack is aggravating. The kicker is that mine wasn't the only questionable shake. The third friend came out, his looking even more empty than mine and weirdly liquid-y at the top. He said that his was under-made to the tune of 30% and the staffer simply threw milk on to "top it up" (and even then it was well short!). I LOVE BRICs and will definitely be back, but just for ice cream. read more

Best ice cream in Indianapolis. It is always very busy but definitely worth the wait. My favorite is the pistachio. I should probably branch out and try something different, but always keep coming back to it. The waffle cones are also very delicious! Great location on the monon! read more

They make their ice cream here on site, it's always delicious and the "toppings" mixed into the ice cream are the real deal, not just flavoring additives. This ice cream is thick and flavorful, a great stop anytime you're nearby, especially on a hot day. There is a reason their line goes crazy here! read more

Went here with a friends family, trying to explore Indy, since we're from California! To start off the staff was so friendly, it has such a positive vibe ! I've tried so many samples and they were all VERY good, but the one I liked the best was the Superman Ice Cream! It was something different from all the ice creams here in California and that was something I was looking for. They have little games for y'all to play & the staff even passed out water! That's something different from California as well! I can't wait to travel 2,000 miles again so I can visit this amazing place again! read more
