Wide variety of ice cream- all delicious. Big serving size; fast service, right on The Monon!

Brics has become THE local ice cream spot. Located right in the monon in the heart of broad ripple, it's the perfect spot to rest during a long walk or bike ride or the destination itself. Offering a variety of flavors named after local terms, the ice cream is great. My favorite is yellow cake batter, especially in milk shake form. read more

Cute little spot right on the monon trail! Dog friendly area and patio. Cute local shops / restaurants not far as well if you want to grab a treat and take a stroll! read more

Had some of the best ice cream I've ever had here! We stopped by while walking along the monon, and there's plenty of outdoor seating to grab a cool snack. When we went to sit outside with our ice cream someone brought us some ice waters which was a really nice touch! Haven't seen that at an ice cream shop. They have a huge selection of unique flavors, and my favorite is the Broad Ripple Blackberry. They also serve your scoops in a cute little glass that gives it a very vintage diner feel. My only wish is that they had some more dairy free options available of flavors other than the few fruit ones they had (could be with almond milk, coconut milk etc) I didn't try any of the sundaes but they looks delicious! Will definitely be back to try them out. read more

If you're over 35 or 40, you should consider another ice cream shop. Their ice cream is delicious. I have no problems with their product. The customer service I received on my last visit was ATROCIOUS. Their posted hours of operation are not up-to-date, and they are staffed by tweens who are so involved with their conversations with each other that they WILL NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS about their hours of operation or their flavors. Under 35: you'll probably be treated well, and have a good experience. Over 35: you might want to look elsewhere. There are PLENTY of good ice cream shops in Indy with FAR less attitude. read more

Really good ice cream right on the Monon trail. Come by bike, car or walking. Always a stream of people here.

I've lived in the Broad Ripple area for a year and a half now and prior to quarantine I had never tried Brics. My birthday took place in April so we decided to try it out because I was craving some ice cream. We got cookie dough and also cookies n cream. I'm an avid cookie dough lover, but personally I preferred the cookies n cream. It was extremely delicious and creamy! Can't wait to enjoy some ice cream after my next long walk on the Monon! read more

Love all of the fun flavors, especially the Banana's foster and Monon tracks. My dog loves that he can come along and order at the window! Best treat after a long walk on the Monon trail. read more

oh yeah - 5 stars indeed. I have tried a number of flavors by asking to try them - or by swiping some from my family. But, for me, I have to go with Whistle Stop Wake Up - coffee ice cream. I am a nut for coffee ice cream, but only when it is good. Brics has good coffee ice cream! This ice cream shop is the best I have tried in Indianapolis. The staff is friendly and the treats are good. I also like that while enjoying the treats, someone usually walks around offering water - nice touch! When you go in - grab a ticket and they will call your number. I really like this vs. the standing in line approach. Grab a ticket and then head to the counter to check out the flavors. People don't get upset for you 'cutting' because it is the ticket number that serves you and not your order in line. I generally just get the cup, but last time, I got the waffle cone. The waffle is fresh and tasty. I've tried and loved: Chocolate Peanut Butter Broad Ripple Blackberry Mint Chocolate Chip Caramel x 3 Cotton Candy Confetti (my 5 year son's go to flavor!) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chocolate Monon Tracks Cookies 'N' Cream Superman Yellow Cake Batter Key lime pie Chocolate covered pretzel Peanut butter cup French silk Cinnamon Pumpkin Apple Crisp Grasshopper Butler Pecan Blackberry I've yet to try: Blue Moon Chocolate Choo Choo Chocolate Malt Supreme Coconut Almond Fudge Rainbow Sherbet Show Your Colors Strawberry Vanilla Village Fudge read more

Basically, the best ice cream around. Dozens of flavors, a young and energetic staff and all housed in an old train station. You know you want to go try it read more

As a marathon runner in the great city of Indianapolis, most of my encounters with Brics are just from running past on the Monon. This is probably to my benefit, because if I had the time and ability to stop each time, I'd likely be in much worse physical shape (but maybe happier). When I do have the time to go inside, it's always worth the visit. There are plenty of flavours (all delicious), and they come in portions that are large enough for adult humans to consume. Prices are what you would expect for an ice cream shop in Broad Ripple, no sticker shock to be found here. Parking in this part of Broad Ripple is pretty scarce, but don't let that stop you. Find a place to park nearby and take a stroll on the most interesting part of the Monon in Indy. read more

Brics - Ice Cream Cone - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

The Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station (BRICS) should not be confused with the economic association of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. While it's the quintessential, locally owned ice cream parlor, here you will find neither an eclectic mix of international cuisine nor anything resembling an emerging economy. What you will find is truly excellent ice cream in an atmosphere that is reminiscent of the Northside I knew as a youngster. BRICS is as Indianapolis as a business can get. It's Northside to the bone, and I like that. Started by two friends who met at a Bar Mitzvah (one of whom is related to Kurt Vonnegut), BRICS occupies the former Whistle Stop along the Monon Trail. The homey interior is cool on summer days, and it is the perfect place to stop after burning calories on the trail. It is equally warm in the winter - when ice cream pairs well with fair-trade, organic, blah-blah-blah coffee. I'd choose eating ice cream over just about anything. I'll eat it in the dead of winter or in the life of summer. BRICS does it right. As a customer, the most difficult decision is what to order. The possibilities seem endless. Fortunately, they give samples. I'm very partial to plain, old, vanilla; BRICS' version is creamy, delicious, and anything but boring. However, there is never a need to just pick one flavor. The portions are ample - even the children's size is two scoops. I found the sea-salt caramel to be delicious. I also tried the coconut flavor (which actually has coconut). Even though it was 30-degrees outside when I ate it, I swore I was on a tropical beach. BRICS has a very nice staff, many of whom are still in high school. Perhaps that's a plus. High school kids haven't gotten sick of customers yet, and they are patient with ones like me who request multiple samples. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream - especially at BRICS. Stay cool. read more

Love Brics and I know it is something we will miss when we move from Broad Ripple. Flavors are familiar but not standard ice cream fare. Parking is tricky but if you're out for a nice walk on the monon on a warm day it is an absolutely perfect treat. Outdoor patio is dog friendly if your dog is friendly. read more

The best place because the ice cream is so good. The service is great. Ambiance I have no idea what that means.

Great place on the Monon. Lots of flavors. Great sitting inside and out. Easy walk from Broad Ripple avenue.

Best ice cream in town! Even with a long line, it went really fast and everyone was so nice! I got one scoop of the BR blackberry and it was more than enough! They had many different flavors including vegan ice cream!! I highly suggest checking them out in broad ripple right off the monan. read more

Yum! It's hard to resist when you're walking down the Monon, especially on a hot day/night. The cooler weather hasn't stopped me from eating it. They have such a variety of flavors to choose from and for a decent price. Every time I go, I try to get new flavors. I haven't been disappointed yet. The seasonal pumpkin flavor is one to try if you like pumpkin. Monon Tracks/trails (I can't remember the name) is another good one, it's pretty much Moose tracks! read more

Fabulous in every way. This quaint ice cream store located in the old Whistle Stop and directly across from the new JC Hart apartment development - The Line - Urban Flats on the Monon. You won't find any better ice cream or more friendly servers. It's a huge plus for Broad Ripple. read more

Lactose-intolerant people of Indy, rejoice! BRICS has dairy-free options that will knock your socks off. Although not listed on the menu, I asked the server and they had three options hidden in the back. There was coconut, turtle and a choco-chip cherry option. I liked the sounds of all three, but went for the choco-chip cherry. For something without dairy it was even better than what was in the counter freezer (I know because I snuck in a few bites from my dates waffle bowl). Had I been able to really indulge in true ice cream, I would have chosen pistachio or the 3X caramel. The decor echoes the history of the Monon Trail right outside the store's backdoor. The colors are cheerful and the safe is friendly. The entire store, including restroom, was very clean. We chose to eat inside, because little critters have really taken a liking to me as a snack this summer. Otherwise I would have had my treat on the spacious patio this fine summer evening. This was my first visit to BRICS and I will be back! read more

Okay first of all it is ICE CREAM.. YAY FOR ICE CREAM!!!! BRICS is conveniently located on the Monon at the heart of Broad Ripple...it's great location lends to great people watching!! There are two ways to order...the convenient walk-up or inside where you MUST TAKE A NUMBER!!! I personally didn't know that until someone else grabbed the a number. The selection of flavors are good...not extremely gourmet or exotic but good. I love that they have vegan and other options for those with diet restrictions. They also offer a nice array of toppings for ur ice cream treats. Also Banana splits and brownie melts and other similar treats were avaliable. It is a moderately priced ice cream shop..expect to spend $6-$10 for 2 people. BRICS is a great place to stop after a long bike ride or leisurely stroll with family, friends or with that date you don't want to end! read more

This is a really great ice cream place they have several different kinds of ice cream that I've never even heard of. When you first walk in you have to pull a ticket so they can call your number because there extremely busy the customer service was just ok I really didn't expect the young lady to have a full blown conversation with me while they were busy however I do feel they should have more seating when we arrived there were lots of people standing up eating because there was simply not enough space or seats there also wasn't really anywhere to park I think this business is a booming business and should have another location or at least make more room for people to sit . read more

I don't even know where to begin with this place...if you visit you'll know why it's the number one ice cream place in Indiana. They have the besttttt ice cream options like endless! I always get their cherry cordial with maraschino cherries and chocolate chunks so good! My husband loves their yellow cake batter - I mean I do too but it's always so hard to pick! Also, their one scoop is like 3 three scoops so be careful if you actually want 3 scoops. If you haven't tried Brics yet - run to it! read more

Ice cream is good, samples are even better, but hours were a little confusing. Google hours state they were open longer than the store said they were - so we drove there and went as they were closing but thought we had an hour yet of them being open. Several others did this as well, but they did serve us anyways. We got our ice cream and ate on the patio as they were shutting off the lights and closing shop. If you get a "regular" scoop it is HUGE! 3 scoops really! I had the Yellow Cake Batter and it was so good, like yellow cake with some swirls of fudge. The outdoor seating is nice, it's right along a walking trail in Board Ripple area. They also serve Rook root beer, and Indy root beer, which we tried and gave 1-thumbs up to. They have a good selection of ice cream flavors which you can either get in a cone, cup, made in a shake or a sundae. read more

I had low expectations coming as a vegan even though I read that they have vegan options. I was expecting icey textured sorbet (not a fan, personal preference.) Once I walked in I noticed a smaller separate case of 6-8 (I can't remember) different vegan flavors. Some sorbet, but mostly coconut based gelato (close enough to ice cream for me!) The person helping me even told me without having to ask that they use a clean separate scoop to avoid cross contamination. The offer 3 different sizes very reasonably priced and I did not get up charged for the vegan flavors. I recommend the chocolate, birthday cake, and cookies n cream, so good! I did not get a chance to try the cookie butter but that looked great as well. They normally have vegan cookies but they were sold out when I was there so they must be good. I'm from out of state but I'd for sure come back if ever in the area again. read more

We love BRICS because they have a wide variety of flavors, including dairy-free and vegan. My husband is lactose intolerant and so it is always nice when we can go to a place that has treats for both of us. BRICS will also make you a "pup cup" of whip cream and peanut butter sauce. Our dog loves that! This is also a great location. You can sit inside or sit outside on the patio and watch people go by on the Monon. Or get your food to go and walk the Monon yourself. We look forward to coming here over and over again. read more

I like biking up the monon to Brics with my kids. It always allows for a longer ride with them. This weekend, I tried the vegan lavender chai and it's really, really good! I'd come back just for that! Be prepared for a line and a tired staff, which doesn't bother me one bit. I was received with a "who's ready!?" Totally get it. It's hot and you've been dealing with a ton of undecided kids and adults. I don't mind at all. The ice cream will be worth it. read more

I just stopped by today for the 5th time since I moved to greenfield. I love their ice cream. It's absolutely amazing.
