Super fresh! Real cheese slices (instead of processed) could've made this a perfect burger.

After our epic 2+ hours bicycle ride on the nearby Spanish Moss Trail, we were famished! This place was highly rated and we were only 5 minutes away. Hubby had fish n chips. I couldn't take a picture since he gobbled it down so quickly. Between bites, I heard only praise at how awesome his meal was. Generously 3 pieces of fish, served piping hot. I had their house burger: Two fried eggs, fresh tomato, pickles, onions, crispy bacon, and cheese piled high on a fresh bun and a fat patty cooked perfectly! I always order my fries extra well done and I have never complained if I get them and they are burnt. More often than not, my request is forgotten or ignored, and I end up with regular-cooked spuds, which is what I thought happened during our visit. However.... The lovely and amazing server named Amber, brought us a second order of piping hot extra crispy fries without being asked. :) She apologize that our first order hadn't been quite cooked enough, dropped off the order of fries with a big smile. Awesome! Lots of parking, totally wheelchair, accessible, space outside for dogs to hang out. Good layout, typical bar/eating areas. Looks like there may have been a pool table in there at one point (there's a nice big space for one, but there are tables and chairs instead?). Overall cleanliness, pretty good. I would recommend that the framed pictures at the tables be properly cleaned as there was food splatter on them. Another suggestion: We noticed that the young lady/hostess, who originally seated us, did not give off very friendly/happy vibes. Maybe just an off day for her, but as far as first impression goes, it could've been better. Small discomfort was how cold it was inside... maybe the AC was turned on full blast? Maybe we were just super hot from being outdoors exercising? Brrr... And finally, if we go back, we would not choose a booth seat again. Every time the diners behind us moved, my entire bench would move with them. Annoying. Two thumbs up.

Fried shrimp with blue cheese Cole slaw. The shrimp were perfect.

The fried shrimp and blue cheese cole slaw was delicious. Service was great. Ready to be back in Beaufort soon and will definitely make this a stop again.

First visit. Started off a little rocky. Table could have been wiped down better. BUT everything was delicious. I got mushroom Swiss. Super juicy and meaty and cooked to perfect. And huge. Hubs got flounder sandwich and said best ever had. Server was Amber. Attentive and polite. Kudos. Will be back.

    Raw Meat. Extremely disappointed

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I am saddened to write this review because I've come to this establishment numerous times and always recommend this place; my aunt comes every other week. Unfortunately, I nor her will be back and will advise others as well to go elsewhere. My server was kind but the manager BRITNEY was EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I had to practically beg the manager to come out to see the raw burger and I am not sure why but we still had to pay for all the burgers even though they were all RAW. We should have only been charged for the food we ate. Unfortunate but thanks to Britney, we will take our business elsewhere.

So delicious! Went in for a girls night and enjoyed my burger and Bloody Mary. Our server was attentive and friendly. During happy hour all house alcohol was discounted. My burger was a low carb and had no bun but was delicious. Upgraded the fries to the 'crack fries' because they are amazing. The ambiance is casual. There was a steady crowd on a Friday evening. Booth and table seating available. Ample parking outside.

Service? Similar to a Parisian Cafe when you speak only Swahili - only not quite as polite.

Service was super friendly and attentive. Food was unbelievable! Best food we had in our entire trip. We had some corn, captains platter with blackened shrimp, salad, chowder, and mussels. Our toddler loved the mussels. He ate them all. All food was beyond great. I also had non alcoholic drinks which was very good! Definitely recommend.

Because this was their first time in Savannah, we couldn't let them leave without a visit to the beach. Although the day was a bit overcast and windy, it was still a nice afternoon and we decided to grab some local fare before heading back to Pooler. Salt Island is a small restaurant located right on the main strip as you turn into the seafront area. There is limited parking in and around the restaurant, but we were lucky because Sunday afternoon was fairly deserted. However, I would imagine that on a busy weekend you would likely need to find creative parking because a lot of the nearby parking seemed to be reserved for home and condominium owners. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with a sizable bar and plenty of room to entertain larger groups. The menu is fairly simple but packed with a couple of really interesting items that you wouldn't technically expect to find in a beachfront fish house. And while we didn't order any of the more offbeat items, I have to say, seeing Chicken Tinga on the menu was a pleasant surprise. Especially since my in-laws are Mexican. Lol, I actually ordered the whole fried snapper tacos, which was essentially a whole fish fried to perfection but then accompanied with a bounty of authentic Mexican taco fixings including fresh tortillas, Cajita cheese, and fresh salsa and guacamole. The waiter promised I would be the envy of the table, and I was! This thing was so big. I ended up taking some of it home and eating it as a late night fish taco snack. The rest of the table ordered a combination of the fresh fish served any way you like it and the shell on shrimp boil. Both options were also fantastic. They also offer a variety of beers and have a fairly full bar so there's fun to be had here for everyone. Service was also really tight with our waiter making multiple trips to the table to make sure everybody was good. This is definitely a spot I would recommend if you are hanging out at the beach.
