We arrived at Bryerly Farms and it was nothing like we expected (not a farm in the traditional sense) BUT it more than made up for it in hospitality and the majestic horses we got to meet - most of which were wild rescue horses. Anne was so warm, very patient with my daughter and her one thousand questions about farm life and she introduced us to all the beautiful horses and ponies by name! On our way home, my daughter kept saying their names and how she wants to take riding lessons with one of the ponies. We're looking forward to going back soon , as we've been invited for an Autumn party and to pick prickly pears :)

Not once during our entire visit did I see a single staff member cleaning or sanitizing. I watched children putting toys straight into their mouths while employees just stood by and watched. At other indoor playgrounds I've visited, there are always dedicated staff members actively disinfecting and keeping the space safe for kids. To make matters worse, I just discovered they feature pride books in an area for small children. It is entirely inappropriate to introduce these topics to young kids in a setting meant for basic play. The owner's justification for including them makes no sense at all. I will not be returning, and I will be warning the other mothers in my Danville mom's group about this place so they aren't caught off guard the way we were.

Every visit, we notice progress. My daughter used to play only by herself, but now we see her becoming more independent and interacting with Lia, which fills our hearts. As a mom of a child on the spectrum, I know how hard it can be. My daughter doesn't have friends, but when we come here, she has one. In other spaces, the stares that come with her stimming can be so difficult to ignore, but here at SPL, we feel safe, accepted, and not judged. That sense of belonging is rare for special needs families, and we are so grateful to have found it here. I love how the staff embraces inclusion and acceptance. it shows in everything they do. I truly wish there were more places and programs like this for our kids, because families like ours need community.
