Was on a road trip from Baltimore to Greenville SC and somehow stumbled upon the cutest town and awesome place to eat lunch. We walked in and got seated in the bar area right away. Our server, Sharon, was quick to say hello and grab our drinks. She was so friendly and personable! She gave us great recommendations on what to order. We got the fish tacos with asparagus and also ordered a side salad with the house dressing. It did not disappoint We loved the history of the building and the way everything was decorated. But seriously the best thing was the service! From being in the service industry it seemed like they may have been short staffed but to anyone else you would never know!! We came here for lunch today around 12:30p. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is in an old cotton mill, and from the outside, it appears they are remodeling/renovating. There is plenty of parking, but a bit cramped due to the construction. We ordered the zucchini chips for appetizer. Despite us thinking they were going to be deep fried, they were lightly fried and didn't stuff us so we couldn't eat lunch. The dipping sauce was great too! I ordered the burger, which was fantastic. My husband ordered the steak, and also thought it was fantastic. We were stuffed! Service was great. The only thing I would recommend is bringing a jacket. A good casual spot. Expect a ~45+ minute wait, but it's often less than they say. The bar is large and you can grab something for while you wait if wanted. The staff is always nice. Sometimes slow, but it's a big place and always busy. The food is consistent and great. I can order knowing what to expect and it's always enjoyable. I typically order the chicken parmesan. It's a massive portion... lots of pasta and huge piece of chicken. It's delicious. I don't even consider trying other dishes, I love this one. The pretzel bites are a great starter. Always average to above average food. Usually simpler is better, I stick with the pot stickers appetizer or a pasta dish. It's been a staple restaurant to visit but never outstanding to me in food. I like the set up at Brick house. They have more of a formal dining area and then adjacent there is a sports bar type area. The food is decent. I loved their Brussels spouts (no pic) and there spinach dip. Good place for apps! Their sandwiches are good but nothing to get too excited about. French fries could have been crispier. I had a good mimosa and a warm beer... my friends beer was flat. Server seemed new and confused but super nice! Pricing is average and acceptable for what they serve. We just finished our meal and wanted to provide a timely review. We are very patient diners and have lots of fun with our servers knowing that they are usually overwhelmed. We are great tippers. Our server today Chris, ruined our entire experience. We sat for 20 mins after putting our drink order in and then another 30 minutes to take our order. It was not busy. He kept placing our drinks, extra napkins, on our salad plates that still had salad. He was asked to split an appetizer on the bill with another couple and he ignored us. He threw our bills on dirty plates so they were unreadable. He didn't smile at all and was giving us intimidating looks Until it was time to pay. The food was good but lukewarm. We figured it was most likely our lackluster server. Please note that during our time there a manager didn't greet us as he appeared to be having lots of fun in the kitchen with the rest of the staff. The food is minimally acceptable bar food. Nothing special at all. But that's fine if that's what you're expecting. The problem is seemingly poorly trained staff. Upon being seated, I left to take my son to the restroom and when I returned they had taken our untouched waters away. It took 15 minutes to get new ones. The server was ignorant of their bar's inventory. She also didn't ask the right questions for a drink order -- basic things like "would you like it up or on the rocks?" The default was a watery on-the-rocks, ruined drink. (Considering I ordered a top-shelf bourbon, it's a terrible waste). I decided to suggest to the manager, Kenny, to train the wait staff on taking cocktail orders. I couldn't have been friendlier, and I already paid my bill so I wasn't even looking for an adjustment, and said I want to like the place--that's why I'm taking time out of my evening to give some advice. I told him the server didn't know their bourbon inventory. He said: "we have a menu" and I said I didn't see it and she didn't point it out. She said she'd asked the bartender. I said, "the point is your wait staff needs more training" and his response is that my server has worked there for over a decade. That's even worse. I had hoped she was new. The point is that Kenny couldn't have been more disinterested in what I said. He clearly didn't care that I had a disappointing experience. He was defensive and dismissive. So I give it 3 stars on everything except 1 for service, averaging it to 2 stars. I don't recommend the place at all. Management sucks and it ruins the experience. read more

My family and I came here on a Sunday afternoon to watch the game. Plenty of parking around the restaurant. I didn't realize until we arrived that Brickhouse Tavern is divided into a restaurant and a tavern. The tavern as you would expect, is more casual than the restaurant. The are TVs all over the tavern and none in the restaurant. It's also a lot brighter in the restaurant than it is in the tavern. We asked to be seated at the tavern so we could watch the game, and we were seated at a booth right away. Because there were multiple games on, the tavern was busy. Despite how busy they were, our server was still friendly, helpful, and attentive. We ordered the following: Fried Pickles $6 Golden Fried Calamari $9 Baked Pretzel Bites $6 Chicken Wings $11 Brick Oven Pizza half BBQ Chicken & half Margherita For "tavern food," the food was pretty good. Everything came out hot and as described. I had a difficult time deciding between the buffalo chicken and the bbq chicken pizza. So, our server suggested doing half and half. Since my husband doesn't eat meat, we decided on half bbq and half margherita. The pizza was delicious. There's just something about a brick oven pizza. Great experience. If you've been in Davidson for any good length of time, no doubt someone has shared the secret of the Brickhouse's wings, pizza and beer with you! They're the best of all three categories in the area by far... the naked sriracha honey wings??? I die. The bessst. The Brickhouse special pizza? Freaking fantastic. Best crust - tastes like butter! The beer selection is huge and rotating and offers a ton of local favorites plus staples that everybody likes. I'm into the Sycamore Mountain Candy IPA at the moment. If you're not wanting pizza and wings washed down with a Hefeweizen, The Brickhouse Tavern offers a huge selection of menu items... Everything from sophisticated pastas to meatloaf to burgers and fish. Honestly, when I'm trying to eat healthy... I order the Greek salad with blackened salmon and it's so good that I wonder why I don't order it every single time. Foodie tip for blue cheese lovers: the Greek dressing mixed with a side of blue cheese dressing is heaven. Service is always great and prices are super reasonable. I love to sit in the bar area because it's fun and lively at any time of day. They also set up a very strategic and streamlined pick up window on the side of the building during the pandemic which has not gone away and for busy weeknight takeout it's a win for everybody. I totally recommend this place and I have been eating here for decades as a local to the area - trust me - it's worth a try. The building itself is super cool sitting right in an old railroad station alongside the tracks... I also appreciate that they display a lot of local art throughout the restaurant. Even waiting for a table is pleasant because the waiting area overlooks the great wood fire pizza oven and you get to watch the cooks putting together the pizza orders and of course it smells heavenly the minute you walk in the door! Outdoor seating also available and in Davidson the weather is usually pleasant enough to enjoy that space. A Little Hit of Miss on Sunday Lunch. Been awhile since we have been to Brickhouse Tavern but decided to give it another try. Based on prior experiences, it can be very good or somewhat lacking. Today was lacking at least on Food consistency. Walked in a little after 12 and my wife, the football nut, asked to be seated in the bar so she could see the big screen TV's. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with garlicky smashed potatoes as my side My wife ordered a Crab Cake Appetizer with Grilled Asparagus as a side. First of all, the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. It was suppose to come with Bleu Cheese Crumbles which it did but rather than evenly distributed over the sandwich, were all concentrated in one spot. When you bit into that one space, the bleu cheese was all you could taste. Dissected the sandwich and you could see all of the cheese was only in one spot Rest of the Chicken was rather bland and all you could taste was the Buffalo Sauce. The Smashed Potatoes would have been OK except they were cold. On a positive note, my wife did enjoy her Crab Cake Appetizer. She gave me a bite and it was very good. On the other hand, the Asparagus was way too big and was already woody. She was only able to eat the very tip. Diameter of most of the stalks were greater than my thumb and I have fat hands. A little more attention to the cuisine, this could be a great restaurant but for now, still hit or miss. read more

Sat at the bar and service was fine, food was good... but the pint of Guinness was a bit of a let down. - not in a 20 oz Guinness glass - single pull pour - non angled pour - glass to glass swap for 2 pints I've never seen anyone pour a Guinness while it sat flat on the bar top! I can let the 16 oz pint glass slide, it was only $5... but pour the Guinness properly. Thursday night spoiler alert - $2.50 draft list. Unheard of in this day and age. Last night was another excellent night. I went with the Tuna Steak entree. For sides, I went with a bowl of chili and a house side salad. The Tuna Steak is pretty decent. I had it seared and it was absolutely perfect. I really love their chili, add sour cream and cheddar cheese and it is perfect. The side salad is large, but pretty boring, it is a side salad after all. I like their Blue Cheese dressing, I am not sure if it is housemade, but it is perfect. Did I mention the $2.50 draft? Yass pleez, I will have another!!!!! read more
