Hate long reviews? This one IS NOT for you, but I'll just say, go with Chris and Ozzy Lara, at Lara Pavers Outdoor LLC. You'll be amazed how much you'll love what they create. And how stress free it will be. BTW, though their business address shows Long Beach, CA, they're in the San Diego area as well. ________________________________________________________________ One reason we chose Lara Pavers Outdoors LLC was an awesome review on Home Advisor. (I'll copy and paste below if I can). We're writing to share the pleasant experience we had with Lara Paver Outdoor LLC. Our driveway needed extending and considered concrete but didn't want to see the "new" vs "existing" inevitable color mismatch. Ozzy and Chris Lara walked the area with us and listened to our needs and concerns. They mentioned other options like concrete staining (not painting) or pavers. We chose pavers so it didn't look like an afterthought. We're elated we did! I work at home now due to the COVID so we witnessed the phenomenal work ethic in each phase being performed and truly... we tried to stop ourselves, but we had to go out and watch... probably 20 times each day! We've had contractor encounters over many years and a surprising number ended up treating us quite inconsiderately. Including being late or a no-show! * On time: The day they came out to scope the work, and every day after, they were always on time and in fact early. Ready to start work. So refreshing and appreciated. * Reasonable pricing: As always, we received other quotes and their proposal was very reasonable and fair. In retrospect...a great value. * Knowledgeable: Chris and Ozzy were so informative with insights and options that many might not consider. * Respectful of neighbors: They were extremely considerate of noise, dust and disruption, which was minimal, to the neighbors. It was hot and they made sure to stay hydrated. And they put their empty water bottles in a recycle container instead of throwing them on the ground to clutter up the area. Truly conscientious crew. * Clean Work Site: They're almost obsessive about worksite cleanliness. Cleaning, sweeping, storing of equipment numerous times per day and of course at the end of each day. * Hard working, skillful, efficient craftsmen: The crew was efficiently busy, never "loafing", unsure what to do next. Numerous team activities displayed a symphony of action. Very impressive. * Service above and beyond our hopes and expectations; People slowed as driving by, giving a nod or wave of approval or a thumbs-up. Some stopped expressing their appreciation of the project and requested business cards from them. We so loved what we were seeing, we asked them to quote 2 new projects. We got them to perform 1 of the 2 (a shed paver base in the backyard) at the same time and the other project, we're looking forward to scheduling up. They squeezed us in and picked up more pavers and did the work seamlessly. They even performed some additional work, at no charge to us: They filled in a large and long opening in a side wall with concrete, where soil was visible. They didn't have to do this as it didn't actually affect their scope of work. They knew it would improve the appearance of the whole area and add to our enjoyment. * Project completed on time: Work was completed on schedule even with our continuous "inspections" of their work, asking questions incessantly and the many interruptions we initiated. Even with the extra job in the backyard they completed on time! They never acted as though we were in the way... even though, we often were. * Perhaps most importantly (to us at least), simply stated, they are just good people. o Respectful behaviors are fading in society and we'd rather support those that embody and present such pleasing, constructive energies. ______________________________________________________________________________ Home Advisor Review, mentioned above: (trimmed for space-DH) 07-31-2020 Ralph L. in Pinetop, AZ This quite extensive project (travertine decking, sod installation, drain and irrigation systems, plantings, trees, raised limestone rose garden beds) was just completed by Chris and Ozzy Lara for us. The experience was great! Not only are they such nice guys, they are really professional and their work quality is superb. They're very reliable. Came early, stayed late finishing various phases of the project. When I asked for something extra, they were happy to go the extra to help us out and make sure we were happy with the way things turned out. It almost sounds to good to be true. We were continually impressed by their commitment and work ethic. I would, without hesitation, recommend them for any size project. We feel very fortunate to have found Chris and Ozzy and plan on using them again in the future on phase II. Thank you, Lara Pavers Outdoor, Chris, Ozzy and crew!!! We will see you soon! With Respect, Dave & Jan, Oceanside

Ben brought a perfect blend of creativity and practicality to the project. He helped us work through ideas for bark vs. rock swale areas, oak-friendly deck details, plant massing, River Wattle spacing, fencing and gate options, and even long-term maintenance considerations. The design is beautiful, functional, and perfectly aligned with the modern-Mediterranean feel of our home. Although the installation was done by another contractor, the clarity of Ben's drawings and notes made their job significantly easier -- everything was laid out so cleanly that there was almost no guesswork during the build. If you want a landscape designer who is thorough, communicative, and genuinely invested in making your space both stunning and practical, I highly recommend Fredrickson Landscape. The design alone made a huge impact on the final outcome of our yard.

Noe Pablo was the most thorough in messaging through the Yelp app, so my husband and I chose him. I had 2 medium-sized fruit trees I needed to transfer from my parent's home in Southeast San Diego to mine in North County. I took pictures and he gave us a very reasonable price. We also decided to also add another service to take out our palm tree. There were a couple of mishaps such as: The day he was scheduled to take out the palm tree, he was a no-show and my husband had to call him an hour after he was supposed to arrive. Then, the day after that incident, was the fruit tree transfer. He and his team forgot to bring their dolly. Thank goodness my Dad had one so they borrowed it, but now we have the burden in taking it back. Despite these mishaps, Noe was very knowledgeable and professional in his mannerisms. The day of the fruit tree transfer, he and his team arrived in a timely manner, was efficient and did a great job overall. We were very pleased and will definitely use him again if we have another project.

Small yard? No worries, Brookside has your back!…read more If you buy new construction these days you can pretty much kiss that yard space goodbye. Finding ourselves in this situation, we needed a team that could transform our "cozy" yard into a comfortable yet elevated outdoor living space. Enter Brookside. You know that feeling when you hire someone to do a big home project and hope that everything goes well, but you kind of hold your breath in the event that something goes awry? That won't happen with Brookside. From our initial call to the thanks-for-everything completion hand shake, they didn't skip a beat. Everything went SO smooth and communication was on point the entire time. Brookside is a well oiled machine. The conversations between us, Brooks and Jenny, and the crew were fluid the entire time and no one was ever in the dark about the plan. On top of that, everyone was so personable and professional. These guys are hard workers and leave your space clean and organized at the end of every day. We were so happy with how our space turned out. Brookside took our basic ideas for hardscape and softscape to the next level and created a beautiful designer yard. We would hire Brookside again in a heartbeat- and you should too!

Brooks and Jenny at Brookside have such a creative and and beautiful aesthetic that we never could have imagined on our own. Their attention to detail is amazing, and their design concept was truly everything we wanted. Even though we have a small yard, they were able to make it look so much larger by moving things around and creating a better flow. It seriously looks like we added square footage. All of the plants that they chose for our yard are so beautiful and unique. Everyone that comes by wants to know what each plant is called because they aren't the very common yard plants that everyone has...they are so interesting! They chose the foliage specifically for what they knew would grow well in our area and with the sunlight for each side of the house. Thoughtfulness went into every aspect of each item they added...from the plants, to the wood and stone for the built in bbq, the special market lights (that are really unique and fun), all the way to the treated concrete. Everything looks like a step above! The work process was easy, and the crews that showed up every day were gracious, kind, friendly and hard working. Over the weeks we got to know the workers, and it was a sad day when it finished and we knew they would not be showing up again every morning. Even our 5 year old knew their names and would announce to us each day who had shown up in the morning. Jenny and Brooks were also very friendly and kind, and were a joy to work with. Such a great team. I have already been showing off their hard work to our neighbors, who are very impressed with the amazing results! Hopefully they will be in our neighborhood working again soon!
