Leo responded to my inquiry regarding the wooden fence/gate at the front of my house via Yelp App. He provided a free estimate pretty promptly, but also confirmed in person. His rates were twice as low than the other competitors. He even offered to stain the wooden fence (additional fee, not bad), whereas other vendors stated it wasn't included. His team (Sal, I believe) was nice and completed the job. They demolished the old wooden fence and built a whole new one. Waited 3 weeks to stain the wooden fence per protocol, which was perfect. Initially had a great experience with Leo and his crew on the first job he responded to. Since I had that experience, I decided to reach out to him again for another job. That is when everything went south... communication was pretty non-existent from him after missing the scheduled date/time we set up. The first missed time, he stated he was sick so I let it go (even though a simple call beforehand would have been helpful). The second time I waited again with no response. He later mentioned that he "lost track of time", after I reached out to him 30 minutes past the time he was scheduled to be there. We needed three things. One, our backyard sprinkler system was leaking and the broken line had been run beneath our artificial turf. They found and fixed two leaks and put our turf back down beautifully. Second, we wanted a paved area for our heavy Traeger Grill and it turned out perfect. I can honestly say that our experience with Leo and crew was the FIRST time we've been COMPLETELY satisfied. Quick, efficient and thorough - every member of his team was respectful of our property, friendly and attentive to details. (I'm a retired engineer and quite 'picky' or 'finicky' by nature, so it takes exceptional performance to earn this opinion from me.) I had three other landscapers bid on my front yard, one of them offered a lower price. The owner of that business called me personally to ask why I had not chosen them. I explained (without naming Cruz) that I chose the contractor who gave me a Timely bid, was Transparent (in that his bid disclosed materials cost and named the suppliers), and was Flexible - allowing us to save money or add to the total price in our final choices. None of the other outfits came close. They all took days to get back to me, did not give us any further choices and wanted me to accept their bid with a 'take it or leave it' attitude. Absolutely horrible lawn service. We hired Leo Cruz to maintain our lawn after we bought our house 6 years ago. He promised to provide weekly service including mowing, weeding, edging, etc. Our front and back lawns went from beautiful to covered in weeds and overrun all around the edges. His crew constantly no-showed and we'd have to text him for updates when they hadn't been in a couple weeks. He would never let us know ahead of time if an appointment would be missed, we would have to contact him. His crew missed 6 weeks over the past 4 months so we cancelled service on August 28. He apologized, blamed it on getting a new crew recently and said he would send a check to refund for 2 months of service. Here we are 3 weeks later and he never even sent a refund. At first I wasn't going to give a review, but after a long hot day trying to get the trees and plants replanted I decided I must warn other prospective customers what dealt with .. We called Leo Cruz out to give us a quote on planting various size palm trees an plants behind a retaining wall. ( took a week before he could do the job) His quote came in close to the other quotes we received, however it was his personality and knowledge that won my husband over. He was to install the trees & plants on 4/8/17:30 a.m. Instead he calls to say he can't make it due to his driver not showing up, he would do the job on 4/9 . On 4/9 @ 7:30 a.m. we get another call an he said he could only have one worker come do the job. My husband said no because it required more than one person to do the job an we didn't want to supervise the person that was his job so Leo decided to send 2 workers on 4/10. ( red flag we should have called somebody else). WARNING (Please check contractors license, I found Leo have to different contractors license number posted on sites... 1252130 & 095186 which Ca contractors License board say neither one exist.) The 2 people he sent (one being his brother), was to plant palm trees and tropical plants, and they did however they planted some trees & plants turned backwards, but the worst part was they didn't plant most of the plants deep enough an in some cases they wasn't planted at all. They were taken out of the container an left unplanted, they were excessive amount if dirt left in lumps an clots all over the place not to mention the containers from the plants, and containers from energy drinks and Eribertos food containers left for us to pick up. My husband requested the workers to come back the next day for only a couple of hours to complete the planting instead of working the 1/2 day as scheduled , he decided he would complete the irrigation that was also part of the job, however Leo said he couldn't send the workers for a couple of hours. So we was put in a bad position either pay as part of their half day to replant the plants or not have them come back, we decided not to have them come back! Leo came by to see the horrible job his crew had made which he did the next evening to pick up his check. He was in agreement the job was not a professional job and discounted the job. The thing that bothered us was he told my husband that he was too busy to fix their mess at that time he maybe could fit us in about a week or week 1/2... we found this unfair and unacceptable we didn't want to wait another week for the plants to be replanted so with help from a few people and family we replanted the plants. Maybe had Leo come to supervise or check on his crew as he stated when he first took the job things would have been different. I'm glad for the customers who wrote on here they received good service however I'm alerting the future/ potential customers it's 50/50 chance you get good work from this company we sure didn't would I recommend this company absolutely not!!!!! read more

Unfortunately I didn't realize that they weren't completing the scheduled service at our rental properties until after many many months of paying for no service. I also find out from my tenant they were there about 10-15 min per visit when it was supposed to be 2-3 hours. When I asked Leo to correct it, there was a very delayed response and lies about when they had last serviced it. Then they promised to show up on a certain day and no one showed. Now no response at all. Apparently the many years I have been paying them monthly and on time we're not enough for them to perform and show up or even respond anymore. read more
