I only leave reviews when someone is great or terrible. I'm happy to say Fence Plus was outstanding. They were great about scheduling the estimate and the work. One of the biggest positives was saving me a lot of money by salvaging what could be salvaged and fixing what should be fixed. (I had another contractor tell me that one section would be cheaper to completely replace for $10k+ - Fence Plus fixed it for less than than $1000). I am looking for a fence company and looked at Yelp the first one that poped up was "Fence Plus" I am mostly intrested in the quality, the post being firmly cemented and competetive pricing. Then I find these people complaining NOT about the fence or the job and quality but rather about the workers taking ROCKS, Rusted Chairs and not picking up the paper from the wood boards. These type of posts are not tasteful and please, please save the personal grudges or problems out of rating the quality of the job, efficiency and the was a good deal for what you paid for. People work hard for a living and these are hard economic times on families no need to add rocks, paper and rusty chairs to negatively impact their business. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Our Mid-Century modern chairs were removed from our property by the workers without our knowledge or consent. After we raised concerns, the owner was able to track them down and bring them back. During our discussions, however, the owner insisted they weren't stolen and offered no explanation as to why they were taken or loaded onto their truck in the first place. While we appreciated getting them back, the situation was frustrating and the owner's defensive response only made it worse read more

When I mentioned my next door neighbor noticed a very special decorative rock planter was missing from her yard along with several other rocks I was told they probably threw them away. They returned a few nice size cool rocks that I was shocked to see were from my back yard that I hadn't noticed were missing yet. Later that day after they left someone had apparently returned another rock, but that one was also from my yard. The person who snuck through her gate to set the rock inside her yard did so with no notice or permission to enter her backyard. Her cherished, irreplaceable keepsake rock that she collected with her now deceased husband was never returned, or any of the others of hers that went missing. She was in tears. They left lots of chunks of old fence debris and paper tags from the new wood that should've been cleaned up but took the time to go rock collecting instead. These were not in the way of them working and were not removed or "thrown out" by accident. One or more of the workers wanted them so just took them. I'm left wondering how many more they took that were not returned, or what else they may have taken that I didn't notice. I feel the right thing to do would be to file a police report for theft, but there's no way to prove it. I didn't think I had to take before and after photos to make sure nothing ended up missing. It's so disappointing putting your trust into a company that violates it. Sure, they're just rocks, but they were treasured keepsakes from trips and every time we think about it, we're heartbroken. read more

We had Fence Plus replace a wooden fence that was atop a block wall in the back yard. Bill Brenner was a joy to work with and he really knows his stuff. Over the last couple years, we've had a lot of remodeling done and I have to say, Fence Plus was the best. From the first contact; emails, phone conversations, scheduling and in person - it could not have been any better. The horizontal cedar fence they installed is much stronger than what was there before and it's absolutely beautiful. The crew that did the work was courteous and professional in every way. Communication with the crew was excellent and their clean up after the job was amazing. They even ran a magnet over the ground to find any dropped deck screws. Usually when a crew leaves, I find myself picking up nails, screws, staples, chunks of cement, etc. Not this crew! Bill and Rich are great, more than fair, and very responsive. Our back fence is at the top of a very steep hill. Rich walked me through all options and prices. They gave me an estimate then scheduled a time to come look at the project. We revised the estimate based on them seeing the actual situation. The price is really an ala carte menu which is very clear and helpful since there are so many options. We ended up with a per foot price plus individual costs like haul away old fence, remove foliage. I could tailor the cost based on height, material, etc. We set a date for the job. It had to be revised due to heavy rain and Rich was quick to call and let me know. A week before: Bill called to confirm everything. I even made changes at that point. The estimate was changed accordingly. Day of: Bill was onsite directing his workers. He called me from the top of the hill with a question about a large tree that was in the way. (at the last minute I had raised the height of the fence and now the tree hit the top.) I made a decision and the work continued. Day after: Rich sent me the final invoice. My husband and I worked with Fence Plus to create a gated and fenced area in our front yard. It was a great experience, and the fence and gate turned out so beautifully! We first went online and used their online estimator tool, which was very cool and instantly gave a rough price estimate for us. We then worked with Rich on a more detailed estimate, and for scheduling, AND they came when they promised to do the work! Every time I called Rich or Bill for something, they knew it was me and knew the details of my project, which made me feel good! Bill is the owner, and was super involved in everything from helping us design the fence and make decisions (we didn't know what we were doing!), to ordering the materials and helping his crew with the build. Bill's crew was also awesome- very nice, did great work and swept up the driveway/walkway each day before they left. It's clear this is a passion for Bill- he is extremely detailed-oriented, and made sure this turned out exactly how we wanted. He even made our gate self closing (for safety so that our dog couldn't push it open), and came back to add a door stopper for me so I don't have to struggle with the dog/stroller when going in and out! Bill is honest, friendly and great at describing options and solutions. He even suggested that a large section of our side fence could be power washed rather than replaced. We decided to replace but Bill's integrity was established. Bill solved some design challenges and his crew put in almost 100' of cedar fencing including an open design facing a green belt, a "good neighbor" side fence and a beautiful new front gate. I called this company originally about 2 months ago to discuss a fence/gate project I needed done. I originally spoke with Rich who was kind and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I decided to go with them after our first conversation. I am type A and peppered him with questions via email.and text and he always answered patiently. This is a small company and they are busy so it takes a while to get anything scheduled with them. However the fact that they are so busy means they do good work a d get booked out early! So you may have to wait a month or two to get your project done but it will be worth it. The actual build took 3 days and there was a little rain delay. Bill was the head guy on site and he is so knowledgeable about this stuff...he even let my dad pick his brain for a bit about fencing. From the start they were incredibly professional, kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. They had to take out extra roots my tree guy left behind..relocate and reuse pieces of my current fence..and build a brand new one with 2 gates. There was the added challenge of the fence being on multiple levels with step downs. They did a BEAUTIFUL job..the fence is perfect and built with so much integrity and craftsmenship. The guys were so nice and helpful and they always asked my opinion on things before doing them. The price was very competitive also! I can't recommend this company more!! read more

Rich from Fence Plus came over to look at our fence project and we walked him through our plans to replace our entire fence (~300') and 3 gates. We had suspected that the fence was old and in need of repair / replacement. After walking the property and inspecting the fence and gates Rich asked a simple question "why are you replacing this fence and gates". Turns out we only need to replace 45' of fencing and power wash / stain the rest. This will save us a lot of money and we will have a great looking fence for the foreseeable future. I put in for a request to have a quote on fencing and was informed that they unfortunately did not cover our area in (south of the 56). Used their online estimator on Dec26th and then received an automated email with a fair dollar estimate. The email said to send a photo of the project which I did by email on 12/26. Their email also said someone would call me soon. It is 1/3 and I have not heard from anyone. I even called yesterday morning and left message on voice mail. I first assumed it was the holidays and maybe they took a nice vacation. Then I assumed that they are too busy for my little gate replacement job. Now I am assuming it is just poor business.
