Horrible management, unempathetic staff, poor products, and unprofessional service. In March 2025, I purchased a Kör whitening kit and a night guard from this practice. The whitening system, which cost me $800, was a complete scam--it did not work at all. Unfortunately, that ended up being the least of my concerns. On Monday, I checked my Care Credit account (which I thought was fully paid off) and discovered a shocking $13,200 charge from this dental office. Care Credit confirmed it originated here. While it turned out to be an error on someone's end (so thankfully I was not being stolen from), what followed was inexcusable. I reached out immediately, and it took Melissa three days to respond--her explanation was that they were "short-staffed." Instead of showing empathy and helping to resolve the issue, she argued with me over email, insisting that because I wouldn't call, she couldn't assist since Care Credit needed me on the line. I made it clear that I would only communicate by email due to potential legal concerns. Ironically, in her final email, she admitted she had in fact spoken to Care Credit--proving this back-and-forth was completely unnecessary. Because of their negligence, I've wasted days calling Care Credit, emailing this office, and losing valuable time and money. Their lack of accountability and professionalism is beyond frustrating. I was initially thrilled to discover Brickell Dental Care and instantly connected with Dr. Mara. Her professionalism and care made me feel confident about choosing this office for my dental needs. I scheduled a teeth whitening treatment, fully understanding that results could vary. Both the staff and Dr. Mara assured me that I would see a significant difference. However, after the treatment, my teeth unfortunately reverted to their original color. I mentioned this to Dr. Mara during a follow-up appointment, and she kindly offered a complimentary treatment to address the issue. I scheduled this follow-up on my way out of the office specifically with the manager, Amanda. I also spoke with other staff about having to come back for a complimentary treatment. So multiple people in the office were aware that I needed to return for the treatment at no cost. Last week, I spoke to Amanda again, only to learn that Dr. Mara is no longer with the practice--a disappointment, but what made it worse was Amanda's response. She pretended our previous conversation never happened, insinuating that I made up the story. This was not only unprofessional but downright shady. The right thing to do would have been to honor Dr. Mara's commitment to me as a patient. Unfortunately, Brickell Dental Care has lost my trust, as well as the business of several friends who came here on my recommendation. I hope the owner sees this and reaches out to make it right--not with a discount, but by standing by the promises made. It's not about the money; it's about principle. I wanted to share my experience with this dental office I've the past 6 months. I want to assure you that I am a real client of this facility and I have no ulterior motive to sharing this information besides wanted to make sure other people don't go through the hell that they so unprofessionally and carelessly put me through. I went to them for a few checkup and cleanings and all seemed well enough. Eventually I was told that I would need a crown, to which I agreed. I was asked to pay for it in full ahead of time so that the mold could be created, so I made the payment in full. A return appointment was scheduled for me when the crown was supposedly completed. On the the day of that appointment, roughly 30 min prior, I received a call asking for the appointment to be moved. I was of course disappointed but it is certainly understandable as emergencies can change the doctors schedule, so I thought nothing of it. We rescheduled my appointment, and the exact same thing occurred the day of the next appointment and again with in an hour of its start time. This proceeded to take place for the next 6 months and all ended exactly the same way, cancellations the day of. I can't tell you how many times this inconvenienced my work and life and to do so by them is simply heartless and callous. I finally gave up and asked for my money back, to which I was ensured it wouldn't be a problem and as you can imagine from past actions on their behalf has yet to be refunded. After yet another attempt to refund my money, I gave up and had to ask for my credit card to reverse the payment. This is an absolute scam, and looks to be a good centralized source to prey on people they believe have no ability for recourse. If you're planning on driving though I'd leave a few minutes early to look ahead becaUse it's mostly pay to park street parking and the BCC garage next door. The staff is very young, friendly and energetic. The office is clean and the doctors all knowledgeable. One thing to know is some days different doctors come each day so I would let them know if you have a preference for a certain doctor for following treatment. Had an awful experience in this "Dental Clinic". I showed up to establish care and for an initial evaluation. I was seen by Dr Ayala, the evaluation took literally 5 min, I had some X rays done and was supposed to have a dental cleaning, however was told I had to return another day as the hygienist "was busy". To make things worst, I got a bill from my insurance for $100, which has never happened before when I have gone to other dental clinics. Went to their office as it had decent reviews and was in network with my insurance. The Dr. Herself was great and was able to do everything I needed. When it came down to payment and insurance however they do not submit everything to your insurance!!! It is legally required to submit every procedure and cost to insurance yet they told me at the office I would have to pay $300 up front because they know insurance doesnt cover it. I was confused and just paid it but turns out after receiving a different bill from my insurance, they actually do cover it. I called numerous times questioning it and requesting a refund in which i was told I didnt know what I was talking about, I was rude and being hung up on. Eventually after getting everyone in the office involved and my insurance company calling then directly, I was able to get some of my money back. Will not be going back. Dentist and hygienist were fine but the worst office staff ever. Before my first apt I sent in all my insurance info and confirmed they received it. On the day of the appointment they didn't have anything ready and I ended up paying more than I expected. Still I didn't feel like that was a big deal. Annoying but whatever it happens. When I tried to set up my next apt I mentioned I would be starting a new job and would have 2 dental plans. They said that's "not a thing". WTF?
