I just moved to Miami two months ago and had a crown crack while I was eating, it was so upsetting, especially after previously going to a high-profile dentist in Beverly Hills. A friend recommended this office, and I'm so grateful they did. From the moment I walked in, the team was incredibly kind, helpful, and reassuring during a time when I was already feeling stressed and going through a big transition. My insurance hasn't even kicked in yet, and they still took such great care of me, which meant a lot. A huge thank you to Dr. Taylor Light and Virginia--they are both wonderful. My crown was in a really difficult area, and they handled everything with such skill and care. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Light, Virginia, and this entire practice. They made me feel truly safe being in a new city where you don't always know who is genuinely great, ethical, and warm. This was my first visit to Bayfront Dental. They charge $180 for a new patient oral evaluation, and since I needed a deep cleaning, that added another $345, for a total of $525 on my first visit. Dr. Taylor Light did my evaluation and Nuiris, the dental hygienist, performed my cleaning -- both were very nice and professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. The office is located on the ground floor of the garage building, and they do validate parking, which is a plus in downtown Miami. Overall, a great experience, just be aware of the pricing up front. read more

Anywhere but here! I came here for a crown, which was well implanted, to be fair. Then they tried to convince me to do all sort of treatments, gum surgery and another crown, because the one just implanted was supposed to fall off in 1 week. They tried to convince me with all sort of phony excuse. I refused but ended up paying way more than necessary and they didn't even bill my insurance. The one-week crown hasn't of course fallen out of my mouth months and months later. They may know dental practice but they are greedy. Went in for a dental emergency... my crown had fallen off of my tooth after a root canal I had in New Jersey years ago, where I am originally from. The staff was very easy to schedule with and they were able to see me the same day! Everyone at the practice was so friendly! Dr. Weiner introduced himself to me and explained step by step what we were going to do to fix my current problem. He is a very genuine/kind doctor; he was very comforting throughout a rather stressful situation. I was also seen by Doctor Gounakis who wound up pulling my infected tooth. Listen up! Sitting in the dentist's chair for me, is a harrowing experience. Let me just put it this way, when I left Dr. Weiner's office, that was not my experience. He has the greatest personality. It was a pleasure to speak with hm . He was straight forward with his evaluation and absolutely genuine. He confirmed that I indeed needed a root canal. I was experiencing really bad pain in my gums for months and was told by the dentist I was seeing before that it was due to my wisdom teeth and that after an extraction, the pain would go away. Well, the pain did not go away and as a result, was left with a considerable amount of debt in order to be able to fund the procedure as I did not have insurance at the time and a lot of pain. I dealt with the pain for months because I was terrified of going to another office that would try and take advantage of me the way that prior office had done. I did my research and found Bayfront Dental and decided that I would go in and make an appointment in order to finally rid myself of the pain and discomfort that I had been enduring for months. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by friendly faces and smiles -- it felt good walking in and being attended to immediately. My first appointment was great -- they took X-rays using state of the art machinery which was very impressive. I then met with Dr. Weiner who was very congenial and professional. After taking a look at the X-rays, he was able to tell me immediately that the source of my pain was a cracked filling. What a relief to know that it wasn't anything too serious! For the next visit, Dr. Weiner with the help of his very friendly assistant Yvette, repaired the filling and the pain and discomfort went away immediately! I'm so happy! I'd heard so many horror stories about dentists in South Florida that I did months of research and read countless reviews before choosing Dr. Weiner's office. And even then I was still pretty nervous when I arrived for my cleaning, exam, and X-rays this morning. I'll confess right now: I am a nervous patient. More than nervous, actually. I don't like taking medication so I tend to go for the laughing gas instead--effective, no side effects, and I can drive myself home. What's not to like? (That the hissing sound always reminds me of Little Shop of Horrors is a side benefit.) I shopped around until I found a dentist willing to give me nitrous oxide during every procedure, including cleanings. The staff were kind, helpful, and clearly knew what they were doing. Dr. Weiner himself has a great chairside manner and takes the time to chat with you and put you at ease during your visit. They never tried to upsell me or push me into procedures I didn't need--one exam and cleaning and set of X-rays later and I was given a perfect bill of oral health. Always such a relief... The nitrous made the cleaning a breeze and the hygienist was gentle but thorough. Overall I had a very good experience here and will be bringing my children for their own cleanings next week. Making an appointment was fast and easy, and when I got there, as a first time patient, I wasn't bombarded with endless questionnaires to sign (just a 1 pager :)) - The exam room is equipped with a TV for your entertainment - this is a great idea!! Jennifer has ALWAYS been super friendly, professional, polite and caring. She is always on top of everything from verifying insurance coverage prior to my appointment (to avoid any surprises) to calling my insurance company to follow up on a claim reimbursement. Every time I have an appointment at Bayfront Dental, Jennifer knows who I am, calls me by my first name and always smiles. Never have I once seen her moody or arrogant. Chazan G. should really consider what she writes before posting slanderous, libelous, and words leading to character defamation. Everyone is allowed to have a bad day and rant, but not to the point where you try to ruin someone's reputation by false accusations. Nice guy this Dr. Weiner. I had a fairly large and old onlay (21 years old) fall out at lunch yesterday. My regluar dentist couldn't squeeze me in until the next day. I called Dr. Weiner's office who both saw me and placed the onlay back on my tooth within an hour. He could have upsold me on a replacement and dragged the proceedure out, all the while racking up a nice bill; fortunately he did not. I was very pleased he choose to use the old on lay. I've been to so many dentists in my life and many in Miami. I'm SO glad I found Dr. Weiner. He's by far the best dentist in this city. The ladies on his staff are so nice and helpful and remember you by name. Dr. Weiner has the greatest bedside manner. He loves to get to know his patients and is just a happy guy. You can tell he loves what he does. I think the most important thing is that he's not in it to make money. He wants to make the best decisions for you so he won't try to tell you that you need an expensive procedure if you don't. He also has this awesome gadget that he puts in your mouth when he's giving you the anesthesia. It vibrants and tricks your brain into not recognizing the pain signals. Sweet! Don't judge a book by its cover, but it's okay to judge someone by their teeth. My mom was an orthodontic assistant during my childhood. I spent a lot of time in her office, got braces, worked there briefly, etc, so teeth mean a lot to me! I actually floss and go for regular cleanings so I've never had a traumatizing experience. *knocks on wood* I love the dentist, and I love THIS dentist. The staff is outstandingly sweet and funny, much more personable than the crabby pants people you have to deal with in most offices. I got seen within 10 minutes of my appointment and from the get-go I felt welcomed. Dr. Weiner gets a kick out of what he does and you're going to see that from speaking with him. He walked me through my x-rays (a first for me, I'm typically nosy and go through them with my mom) and when he noticed my old bonding was looking less than perfect he polished and shaped it. It made a HUGE difference and I wasn't even expecting it! Talk about a pleasant surprise. I came here at the recommendation of my mom when I thought I had a cavity and the office made an appt for me the same day when my own dentist couldn't fit me in for two weeks. Turned out I didn't have a cavity but was grinding my teeth (which I suspected) and instead was fitted for a night guard, which I'll be getting next week. Also, Dr Weiner allayed all my concerns regarding what previous dentists told me and told me I had great teeth! I have been a patient of Dr. Weiner for a long time. He has always been great, and I think he still is great. However, after my last visit I will be moving on to a new dentist after repeated confusion and misinformation from the office staff. When I called to make the appt, I asked if they take Aetna PPO as my insurance changed. They assured me they take all PPO. Again I confirmed if they accept Aetna, they told me they do and took my new policy number. I informed I needed a general checkup/cleaning as I was overdue, and I was having sensitivity that I wanted evaluated. I took time off work to make my appt. Dr. Weiner recommended an onlay, staff checked my insurance, and told me I was no longer insured. I confirmed my insurance info, and they said they still had my old insurance info. Again I gave them my new info, and they returned quickly to say that the procedure wasn't covered. The ?hygenist also made a rude comment that 'this means you need to consider better insurance.' I work in the medical industry and this is completely inappropriate. In the meantime I looked up my policy and saw onlay explicitly listed as a covered procedure, Dr. Weiner also agreed this is usually covered and offered to investigate. After some back and forth with office staff, they said my insurance covers only metallic onlay and again the ?hygenist says 'you don't want metal in your mouth.' Then I was recommended a crown alternative, which was covered by insurance. After agreeing to the copay, I told them I would like to start the process today. Then was informed they didn't schedule me for a cleaning, nothing in my appt about cleaning, they can't accomodate me for a cleaning, and their next opening was 2 months away. By this time, 2 hours later, I was so frustrated that I left. Then they tried to bill for that day (X-ray and exam), which I told them was covered at 100% by my insurance. Then was informed they don't take Aetna PPO. I was grateful that they admitted fault there and waived my bill, but it's clear the office staff is just saying whatever they need to get you in the door. Once you're in, it's a completely different experience with confusion and a lot of 'I don't know.' They appear to be relying on their patients not holding them accountable. Unfortunately I no longer recommend this dentist. If you do go, confirm confirm confirm everything (insurance, appt reason, etc.). The staff did call later that day to apologize for all of the gross misinformation and to inform me how embarrassed the doctor was about the whole ordeal, but I just can't trust this office anymore. read more

There are many good dentist in Miami.... what sets Dr. David Weiner apart is that you're not just a patient; he and his staff cares for your needs as a person. I was going to a third world country for 6 months and wanted my dental work done before I left. I had been going to another dentist for a year, he had guaranteed me on several occasions he would complete my work before I went. 2 weeks before I was leaving he informed me that he would not be able to complete my work before I left. I called Dr. Weiner's office. When Dr. Weiner heard my story he and his staff went into OVER DRIVE. Dr. Weiner, his Oral Surgeon and staff came in early mornings to assure that my work would be completed. One of his staff was on standby on her day off in case the caps and implant didn't fit properly so she could send them back to the lab in time to be corrected. Needless to say, with Dr. Weiner at the helm, he and his staff completed all of my dental work with 2 days to spare. I have continued to have all of my dental needs done at this office for the last 5 years. read more
