I just was at this place Dr Amaya is very good But they just charge me on top of the service 170$ because I didn't show up 3 month a go for an appointment I'm personally will never go back to this place after years that I go to the same place ! I am a new patient of Dr. Amaya's. I am NOT a fan of dentists. I typically go for a checkup and cleaning every 3 or 4 years. But after going to Dr. Amaya for a cleaning and x-Rays, I can tell you that my opinion of dentists has changed dramatically. This office understands that an appointment time means something. I did not wait like you do in most medical offices. And the hygienist was very professional and sensitive to my anxiety of having my teeth cleaned. Dr. Amaya was thorough and professional. Answered all my questions and actually listened to me! I have had about 5 dentists over the last 20 years. I think I finally found the right one! read more

Needles have always terrified me. Ironically I lost count of how many patients I've injected, drawn blood from, placed catheters or performed spinal taps to. When it's time for me to go to the dentist,because of horrible past experiences as a child, who wore braces and the dentist was the second home . I always hear my psyche tell me that somehow I'm going to pay for all those patients I could have possibly inflicted any pain or discomfort with my procedures. He calls himself Dr. Barry S. Scholls, don't tell anybody because they might think I'm crazy or something, but it will be our little secret. You see the DDS is his disguise because I truly believe that he is the tooth fairy himself!!!!!!! My mom has been coming to him since before Carlos was born and whenever I need anything he is the guy to go to. He always gives me my best option and he is very sincere to anything that I truly need. I'm a sissy and I have never complaint about any injections that he had to give me for anesthetic purposes....(he must use his wand when I'm not looking. ) He is very charismatic and will joke with you and he works, he makes you feel like family. I had a really bad cavity not too long ago and I was in excruciating pain he was off and when I called the office, his staff which is very helpful and extremely accommodating took down my info for the next appointment. After hanging up the phone less than five minutes, Dr. Scholl called me personally from his home to check on me. He also called the pharmacy right away and had me a nice whopping prescription of Vicodin 375mg for my pain. I was no longer in pain for the rest of the weekend until my next visit. I was comfortable and I could actually eat and think, I couldn't even function from the pain I was enduring. This place it's great and he always has a lot of patients. His clients are loyal and not only bring themselves but their family members too. I was surprise that there were no reviews. This dentist is very successful from word of mouth and first really need to advertise. But I really felt compelled to write this based on my experience and how well he's treated me and my family through the years. Ps. His office is beautiful, and relaxing with a beautiful lake view which is a plus. Bring headphones and just sit and relax , This dentist is amazing, compassionate and first like his stoners to either wait or be in pain. He truly cares for his patients and he takes his time and interacts with you. You won't feel like you do at certain offices where you have the feeling that you are in a factory and you are just a number that they need to see in order to meet goals. If you ever read this, Dr. Scholl I'm extremely thankful for your services and I hope someday not too far away you'll be around to take care of my little ones as well... So disappointed by this dental office. I was a first-time patient I was completely blind-sighted that they were OUT of network for my insurance. I asked if my insurance would cover my appointment when I first called and I was assured it would. Instead of my $50 deductible - I had to pay $176 for a filling. Best dentist office ever had my deep clean done by Heather and she was so informative and focused on making me feel comfortable. She recommended so many things and gave me many options to choose from. I made sure that my second deep cleaning would be done with her as well, even though everyone in this office is a pleasure to get work done with. I been coming to this dentist ( amaya) for a very long time. However, I stop going about 2 years ago because I moved away from south Florida. I moved back to south Florida a couple of months ago. Yesterday, I decided to make an appointment to have a basic cleaning. When I walked in the place has changed. Very nice office they added a pair of seats in blue very comfortable. They extended their offices. The place is very clean. Some of front desk ladies are no longer than. I heard they moved away to buy a house away from south Florida. However, the front desk new ladies there are still very friendly as the other ones. The lady that did my cleaning was very nice, very friendly. She was very patience with me. I don't like going to the dentist. However, I felt so at ease with her. I asked her name she is Marliny. FYI if you dont have dental insurance the basic cleaning is $ 95. and if they need to take xrays is additional $ 95 . Total $200. They accept all major insurance such as humana, citna, aetna and others. I differently recommend you coming here. Again, I don't like coming to the dentist but with them I feel very ease and not uncomfortable at all. read more

I needed an appointment right a way and this office came through for me. I have a lot anxiety about going to the Dentist but not anymore. The people in the office were friendly and helpful. The dental hygienist was very professional and friendly. She assisted Dr. Amaya with my root canal. Dr. Amaya is an excellent Dentist. He knew, I had a lot of anxiety about the procedure but assured me I would not feel pain. He was right! He makes u feel very comfortable because he explains everything before hand. A little over a year ago I had a very bad experience here. I have been coming to this office since I was a little girl (and they have the albums to prove it in the waiting area) one of the hygienist scraped my tooth and after being angry about it and the fact that I did not like how it was handled was worse. I was prepared to leave and find another dentist. Finally I was able to talk to Dr. Scholl (who has been there since I was a kid) and he LISTENED to me and heard me out as to why I was so upset and took a look at my tooth and we talked it through. Needless to say I came back. Today I went in for my cleaning and I am happy to report that they finally have a hygienist that I honestly feel that I can trust with my teeth. She was informative and honest about everything and treated me with the respect that anyone would want to be treated. I feel like with the other hygienist there's no relationship, they do your cleaning and say see you in 6 months and bye. Heather told me hey I noticed this let's work on it. I appreciated that!
