We were going to go to Brick Oven Pizza this past weekend and we actually did go in, sit down, and get menus. While looking over the menus, the expected sorts of foods were on there-pizza of course, pasta, burgers, salads, etc. The menu wasn't interesting but it was getting late and we were hungry so we picked out some things we wanted to order. HOWEVER... We did not get to see what the food was like, because it was at this point that I wanted to wash my hands, as I always do after touching menus (especially these ones because they were a little sus, mine had something on it that looked sticky but I sure wasn't about to touch it to find out) and was going to go to the restroom. I was shocked and disgusted to find that there were two restrooms. No, not a women's and men's, but rather, two restrooms intended to be shared by men and women. Now, since there were two restrooms already, why was there not one for women and one for men? I do not share restrooms with strange men for many reasons but the biggest one is the possiblity of cameras being put in the restroom-a risk which increases with men being allowed into women's restrooms. Was this to pander to trans identified males? We left and went over to Coltons, where not only was the food great as usual, but they also know what a woman is, and have enough respect for their women patrons to provide our own restroom for the privacy and peace of mind it affords. read more

Calzones were ok but not nearly as good as before. Crust was burnt (my favorite part) waited 45 minutes and they finally brought one of the calzones out and I'm still waiting for mine, 16 minutes later I got mine. Wanted to try a new place on a road trip. Asked about beers on tap for their advertised special; waitress pointed to the taps instead of taking time to find out (not listed on menu). When the beers came they were not cold When asked if they have side salads she said yes but later found that it was the price of a regular salad for iceberg lettuce, couple of sliced almonds, a cucumber slice, and a 1/8 slice of tomato. Very weak! Entrees were pretty good but a couple of online menu items were not on the store menu. Lastly, had tvs but seemed to not be working (would've liked to watch a ballgame. Years ago, this place was so good. Everything was hot, huge portions. I went back this year. Salad didn't have hardly anything on it. They charged extra for meat. My pizza was burnt twice, I couldn't eat it. Very expensive, smaller portions. The wings were not cooked, and one was large, others were flat, and no meat. Need to lower prices. i just got home from going to the one in poplar bluff, MO. i spent over 115 bucks and had the worst experience ever here! the waitress, aside from taking our order, didn't look our way more than once to be concerned about our service. my boyfriend had to get up to get her attention on 4 different occasions. the cook came out and inquired about our food more than she cared to even acknowledge us. the waitress seemed stuck up and rude, the food took OVER 45 mins to come out, with 3 small children that was NOT fun! and the kid's foods were lukewarm!!! They got spaghetti and mac and cheese!! with that being said the kids didn't really eat, and it ended up being a waste.! 10/10 DO NOT recommend, if ur wanting pizza, go to Dominoes!!! they hardly EVER disappoint!! the adult's food was decent once it did finally come out, but the overall experience made it not matter, I was ready to walk out!! read more

I wish I could say what the food was like, but never got the chance. I got there today a little after 1:30 and ordered a plate of spaghetti & meatballs w/ a glass of lemonade. Thirty minutes later, my lemonade glass empty, my food no where in sight, and the wait staff avoiding my table as if no one was sitting there (one waiter spent most of the time chatting up a couple who were obviously friends of his) I decided to pay for my lemonade and go somewhere else. It was my first time here, but it was also my last. I found the whole business of being ignored insulting and vowed I would never set foot inside that restaurant again. Didn't care for it. The pizza was like a mix of a Totinos party pizza and buffet pizza from pizza inn. Both are fine on their own, but not together. Also, pretty pricey for something not that good. The spicy sticks have jalapeño on them, but there was nothing spicy about it. The service was decent at best, but be careful walking around in there! THE FLOOR IS VERY SLIPPERY! The drinks tasted watered down (unsweetened tea and coke). Overall, I give this place a few months (to let the newness wear off) before it shuts down. Overall, I would avoid it. Me and my husband are from out of town and pizza lovers for sure! Especially brick ovens, coal, and wood oven. It's not everyone's style of pizza when you're used to chains like dominos and the sorts. It will have a thinner crust and it's not uncommon for it to be crunchy or with color on the bottom. That being said, this is good pizza, not the greatest we've had, but like I said we are pizza snobs. But considering we're are in a smaller city in the south it's the best you will most likely find in all of poplar bluff. I would hate for other road trippers to not have a place like this to visit when you're tired of fast food. The service was great and of course you get great southern hospitality. Went looking for a non chain pizza and found this place usually a lover of brick oven pizza, however the pizza here Tastes like they go down to pizza inn, take a pizza off the buffet and reheat it in the brick oven. While pizza inn isn't bad, it's not what you want when paying a premium price. My order was wrong pizza didn't have pepperoni and the spicy sticks didn't have jalapeños. The girl helping me was very nice and had excellent customer service, I do however think the manager needs a little more training, he seemed irritated that I said my order was wrong and that they could remake it (wait another 20min) or take the jalapeños on the side.. This place is extremely over priced considering the portion sizes and the fact that the pizza tastes like a frozen one I can purchase from the grocers for $1. I have been here three times. Hoping to give them another chance and they would be better each time, however for the price, bad food, lack of service I have decided that I will not be back. Each time I have been here the place is almost empty and yet it's hard to get waited on because the waitstaff seems to be too busy goofing off and flirting with one another, than attending to customers.
