The four of us came for breakfast and it was decent, All the meals came with a drink, I chose iced lattes and some of use chose iced lemon tea, sure would go back again.

This is probably the most mediocre place in Hong Kong, very bad service, the dishes came in cold, but the server warned us the skillet was flaming hot. It's actually a good thing this place is hidden in a small dead end street, cause the only place this restaurant is going is a dead end.

A combo plate

It was a very good breakfast. I had the combo plate in the photo. For some reason it comes with a cup of grated Parmesan cheese. I have them put the cheese in my scrambled eggs and it was a very good favor. Every thing was good but not great. If you want great, go to the Flying Pan. If the bacon was crispy I would have given it 4 stars.

Beautiful food, breakfast selection, coffee, and tasteful contemporary interior design, we will definitely be back.

Great little 'out of the way' restaurant/bar. Was recommended for breakfast and it didnt disappoint. Good coffee and tasty food if you are looking for a western style breakfast. Certainly will be back again

It has a friendly pub atmosphere, the food is alright, and the WiFi is fast and free. No matter what day it is, you'll always see a crowd on your way home from work. If you're a beer person, you're in luck as they have some nice local ones available. I'm in a wine mood these days so the fact that they had rosé by the glass made me a happy camper already. I think of this place as the "Cheers" of Hong Kong... come here enough and everyone will know your name. And they're always glad you came.

As the pub local to the area, I love Phoenix. While it may appear to cater to a slightly more…read moremature audience, considering their general clientele of young families and older adults, or the quiet ambience and well lit interior decor, it is still a place that offers great value while still allowing you to have a drink and chat with someone in comfort. Phoenix offers a wide range of beers on tap in addition to liquor. Personally, I'm a huge fan of their Gweilo IPA, which is a very fruity craft beer that is brewed in Hong Kong. Grab a pint of that during happy hour for extra value. Phoenix also offers some pretty decent food options as you have a drink, like their fried chicken wings (served with garlic). I have yet to try their brunch (weekends only), and I've also heard great things about their burgers. I'll probably check that out soon.

Let's be honest- steak is friggin expensive in Hong Kong, but you get a perfectly cooked, good sized piece of meat for a very reasonable price ($288 for a 14 oz ribeye). A carnivores delight! The atmosphere is classy and the service top-notch. The host even remembered me when I came in. Sides (especially the fries) are a great compliment to the steak. There's even a special on Wednesday nights that includes several different cuts, salad and sides. If you're hankering for some bovine flesh, head to Elgin Street and indulge!

Minus side, the waiters are super disorganized, at least 2-3 waiters came to our table and repeated the same questions. "- would you like to have wine?". "- do you want some dessert" and so on. I can't complain that they are not service minded. But it's really annoying when another waiter come and repeat the same question when its already answered. Its a bit pricey but if you get the asiaexpat supermonday.com card and you can dine 50% off on Mondays.

Kam Wah Cafe is also famous for their freshly baked Pineapple Bun and Butter. Can't start your day without some HK Milk Tea and Iced Ovaltine. My son said it's a good thing the nai cha in the states are not as good because he was starting to develop an addiction. Lol. For those of you who don't know, it's made with Ceylon leaves, evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. The French toast was so damn delicious but a bit indulgent. I do wish I could taste more of the peanuts. My son loved his bolo bao. We also shared a hot bowl of macaroni soup with Spam and lettuce. Thinking back, I regret not trying the Spicy Satay Beef Instant Noodle. I will have to look for this back in the states. The aunties working here are just the most adorable, very kind and welcoming. One of them took the time to help us navigate the huge menu and recommended a few items. I would come back again and again if I could. I have a mad love for these iconic HK Style Cafes aka Cha Chaan Tengs. These affordable quick-paced restaurants were influenced by the city's 150 years of British rule. Aside from the classic breakfast items, they also offer many delicious rice and noodle dishes in the afternoon.

We got here fairly early, so we didn't have to wait for a table. Service was as expected - quick, efficient, and no nonsense. A tell-tale sign of a good HK cafe. The food just hit the spot for me, bringing me right back to my childhood memories of eating this on weekend mornings at our local HK cafe.
