chateaubriand with fries.

Absolutely great! Had the chateaubriand and it was really good. Great ambiance, service and food! Highly recommend it!

Tasty but very little meat

The atmosphere here is very casual with high and long wooden tables and bar stools to sit on. The food is mainly French twist European to me with a wine list that is all French The prices are moderate for HK and the service is very good but the food choices and the food to me are ok- not as good as advertised *Mussels- on the small side. Not enough meat in them and not enough sauce. Also the sauce had some cream in it which I do not prefer. I like my mussel sauce more like a non creamy Chablis wine sauce * Raw Oysters- tiny tiny and no meat in them. Very disappointed *Scallops- these were good. Cooked perfect with a slight crunch on the outside and moist on the inside. Not overcooked and rubbery. The truffle oil made the scallops taste rich and delicious *One meter meat and cheese platter- this looked great and if in the mood for all the cured meats and cheese - this is for you. But I overloaded in this and bread and did not get to order to the chicken or steaks. It was ok but not awesome Would I come back? Maybe but I would have their chicken and a few other items and pass on some of the above

We went there for the Super Monday promotion and had a nice surprise with this establishment. The dining room has a nice yet rustic feeling and is quite airy with the high ceilings and windows. There is a lot of wine bottles displayed around and you can also look at their wine cellars. We were promptly greeted and seated even if we had no reservations. The menu offers classical French cafe dishes that are reasonably priced. The wine selection is also quite wide. The best deal is to buy a complete bottle as the glass selection is slightly limited. We shared the beef tongue and the Wagyu beef steak. The beef tongue was very tender, the mashed potatoes texture was good and the flavors well balanced. There was a nice wine aftertaste with this dish. The Wagyu beef was nice, somewhat on the tough side even if we asked for medium rare. The sauce that was coming with the steak was pleasant if not a bit small for the size of the plate. The fries were nice and crispy. As for the service, it took a little while for us to place the order, the follow-up could have been slightly more attentive, but overall very good nonetheless.

Very friendly host and good vibe! They have happy hours on different drinks on various days. For a second, I thought I was at Central.

Was starting to run out of reasonable and highly rated places in E.TST so we finally decided to make the 8 minute trek out here (given that it was ridiculously hot and humid out, this was a huge deal as melting makeup, high heels and sweating usually vetoes a lot of venues out). While the distance can be discouraging, the food and service alone will make you want to be a repeat customer. As mentioned, the food was quite good given the reasonable prices and the desserts were delicious as they were quickly wolfed down. The wine is not extortionate and fairly decent selection for the location. The restaurant manager was charming, friendly and incredibly personable. He delivered above and beyond service which is rare to find in HK even at the best 5* hotels or fine dining restaurants. For that alone, we will make this one of our go to's the next time we are in E.TST.

Great selection of wines. Good food selection. Nice service. A definite recommendation for something different when in Hong Kong.

Les Pucelles - Nice cozy wine bar of vintage French style. I'm loving it!

Here you can find a long list of white, red, and rose wines (and one dessert moscato) as well as a few options for nibbles. Namely, jamon platter, cheese platter, pate platter, or mixed platter - which all come with a few slices of bread and are a bit customizable: which type of cheese and pate you want is pairable with the wines. The reason that this location does not get 5 stars is because for 140 dollars, we got a very small serving when we ordered the mixed platter. Oh, and the place has a serious mosquito problem. I get bitten easily but even my friends who don't noticed the clouds of mozzies hanging around our table despite the anti-mosquito-smoke thingey lit at our feet (which I had to ask for.) Get one of those purple-light mosquito-blasters, people! Seriously. Otherwise, the other 4 stars were earned through great ambience and very good service - two different servers gave perfect information and advice for wines, and our party of 5 was easily accommodated.

You can also call in advance to reserve for large group event, and they even let you bring outside snacks to munch on with good wine. A plus, they close late, so you can spend hours here. A neighborhood gem indeed.

The mood was lively, the drinks were tasty, and the singers were hitting all the right notes. It's the perfect place for chilling in the evening and night owls to gather, which makes it another wonderful addition to Hong Kong's lovely nightlife scene. Located on Gloucester, it's not the busiest street but that's what makes Ember special. If you want to get crazy, just head a little west on Lockhart Road. But if you want to sip a fancy drink and sit back with some close friends, this is where you want to be. The lights are dim, the music is jazzy, and the staff treat you with utmost friendliness. I didn't get to try their food but I did get to sample their extensive booze list. They've got a fantastic collection of wines and some of the most creative cocktails. Like the Tap Sonic, one of the most stunning drinks I've ever seen. It's a floral G&T, flavoured with elderflower, and has actual frozen flowers inside the ice cubes. Or China Trap House, a fruity green tea infused drink served in a traditional Chinese bowl. They even put effort into their mocktails, like the Music Tower, which has fresh pineapple strips stacked on top, looking like some kinda french fry Jenga game. All were absolutely delicious and will set you back around HKD $100-150. The main attraction is the live band. Yes, they were fantastic musicians. Yes, they've got a great playlist that mixed the new and the old, all with their own twist. But they were also super interactive and gave people shout-outs and took song requests. They seem like a fun crew and are probably cool people to hang out with in real life. All of this makes Ember somewhere you definitely want to be on a Friday night. Or any night really. We went on a Wednesday and there were two birthday parties and a bunch of people coming in and out. They know what's good. (66/100) - 2018

Sharing is caring!!! Anyway, this place is next door to the hotel I always stay at when visiting the island, and I've got to say, just passing it by will entice you to come in. The ambiance is awesome, with low (but not too low) light that makes it intimate. The wine selection is great and the staff are great in recommending options if you're not sure what you're looking for. The cocktails are also expertly mixed which is always worth a star or two in my books. The food is also really good! I tried the truffle pizza, truffle fries, and Caesar salad, and they were definitely finger-licking good! What brings all this goodness together is the live music. When we visited, it consisted of a jazz singer and an accompanying pianist. They performed combinations of Chinese and western jazz, and also took requests from the audience. Being an amateur pianist myself with an expert ear for good music, I have to say it doesn't get much better than this if you're looking for a place to relax with friends or that significant other. Highly recommended. WRITE REVIEWS PEOPLE!!! Fellow yelpers are relying on you to find hidden gems and well-known watering holes!

There are average you-can't-even-remember-the-name bars on Yiu Wah Street. The Sky Bar is a mix of everything and but being unique on its own too. It's in Lee Theatre Plaza. Pretty decent if you compare to Tang Lung Street (sans Mid-Town), Yiu Wah Street or Henry House. So even though they offer dart machines and pool table, it still attracts quite some nice and decent crowd. Big screens for sports. Apparently they have EPL broadcasting live, so another vibe to the mix during Saturday night I'd imagine (but hold on to your thoughts about coming here for late matches). Now the food was actually pretty good, which was rare for a bar in HK as well. Both the cheese mushroom and cheese escargot were well made. Pool table is free. You just need to tell the guys playing that you'd like to play the next round. There's a small private room too, with its own dart machine and the table is apparently made to play beer pong. Two small things though - (1) when I asked for a shot (yes it happens quite often lately...), they didn't seem to have shooter glass and poured me on a whiskey glass instead. Couldn't complain at all to have a big shot of tequila, but gosh, it tasted like the cheapest kind of tequila only college students would buy from 7-11. (2) It originally states it opens till 1am. It was more like 12 midnight, and last (drink) order at 11:30pm. So if you want to chill late night in Causeway Bay, make sure you have a backup plan. (And hence, no late night football here). Otherwise - I'll definitely come again for happy hour.
