Briarcliff is a great place for dogs. My GSD is in the daycare every weekday and loves it! She comes home happy and tired. During the hot summer months, there is a pool for the dogs to play in and cool off, Dave taught her to swim. I've kenneled my dog here as well. It's been a good experience for my dog and me. I am confident in the care Briarcliff gives to my girl while I am away. I have used the training available there too. Dave has trained my dog to be confident and manageable and a good family member. I am pleased with the results. I did research other canine daycares and I found Briarcliff to offer the best for my dog at a great price. read more

I have a 14 month old goldendoodle named Jack and he loves going to Doggie Daycare at Briarcliff. I think that's an important sign when I have tried other places and he wasn't very happy. I get half a mile away and Jack gets so excited to see his friends and caretakers. Briarcliff staff has always been very professional and friendly. It's a clean and safe environment for the dogs. Jack is happy there and very active but he also gets rest time as well. Dave is a professional trainer and I've even had a private one on one lesson for Jack. I seen improvement within the same week as I practiced what I learned with him. We are new the areaand found Briarcliff through an ad left at our vet office. We have two young terriers and naturally were nervous about sending them off to day care and boarding, but we were impressed at how meticulous the facility was regarding vaccinations and doing interviews for daycare. If you are looking for the floof and frills of the doggie daycare chains, BriarCliff is not it. The staff at BriarCliff is focused on the care and safety of the animals. My two dogs regularly visit daycare and the boarding facility. Every time I drop them off they are eager to jump out of the car, they are absolutely in love with the staff. When doing daycare we've done a few training session add ons, when boarding we also add a ranch walk or play time if it falls on a weekend when daycare is not open. The boarding staff is also really good at communicating via text on arrangements or updates needed. scheduling is also very easy as they offer an app to schedule services. Our pups love BriarCliff and we never worry if they are romping at daycare under Dave and teams' care or at the boarding facility with Juliet's team. Our experience with booking Boarding has been smooth, team member Mercedes has always been our point of contact staff and our dogs love her, they light up at every drop off when they see her. She even went the extra mile to give them extra attention on their first boarding experience and provide us with extra updates. I recommend visiting their website to learn more about the facility and scheduling an appt to visit the boarding facility and daycare. That's what we did prior to booking an interview for the pups. I absolutely love this place! I was in a panic the day before I had to leave for a trip (bad planning on my part) and found Briarcliff. I called them first thing in the morning and Juliette was so helpful! I was able to create an account online and upload all of my dogs records, it was super quick and easy to confirm an appointment date with them. My dog stayed for 4 nights and got to enjoy two pet and plays! Let me tell you how excited we all were to receive pictures and videos of Leopold while we were on our trip. You could definitely tell he was so happy and the person recording was running back and forth with him! It was so sweet. Let me start off by saying that Juliet was extremely helpful and did her best to accommodate me with my late flight arrival which many places wouldn't. She is an extremely friendly woman and from what I can tell, she's pleasant. With that being said, this place gets 1 star. I picked up my dog who had a weird chemical smell on him almost like pine-sol which I can excuse because perhaps that's them keeping the place clean but I can't help but think my dog got ahold of it because he spent the next 28 hours vomiting yellow foam and pooping red diarrhea. He was MISERABLE. He stayed with them for 5 days so they were undoubtedly responsible for what happened. I boarded him there three times but last time was indeed the last. I boarded two of my dogs with Briarcliff for a week while my family was on vacation. I was told that pick-up would be by 12 on Monday, because they were closed on Sunday. My wife took off work early to be there, and called on the way in to let them know she was on her way. They told her that since she wasn't there by 11:30 (???), she could not pick up until 2, and we would be charged another day. I decided to take off work early and pick up the dogs myself at 2 to discuss the issue personally. The girl denied telling my wife 11:30, and said that she just didn't show up (???). When my dogs were brought out, I noticed that my lab looked thinner. The girl then gave me the bag of food that I had left for them (which was just a bit more than the dogs should have eaten that week), ...it was half full. Poor service, poor care. I do not recommend. read more

My wife and I care very deeply for our pets and we wouldn't let just any kennel take care of them. Briarcliff is the cream of the crop. They offer extra services like "cuddle time" Where they spend one on one time, playing with and loving on your pet. Then they send you pictures of the cuddle time with your pet. They are very careful about food, water, medications... we've used them for ten years and if we're looking to kennel our dogs I'd kennel them at Briarcliff- no question in my mind. We do the doggy daycare club with Dave! It works perfectly with our schedule. The hours are amazing especially if you have to go to work early. Our dog is very well taken care of and comes home thoroughly exhausted. We've gone to other spots in the area for a daycare and find the price to be extremely competitive if not one of the best in the valley. Waste of money - I recently moved to Menifee and have been looking for a place for my 11-month golden retriever puppy to socialize and play with other dogs. I was instantly excited by Briarcliff's positive yelp reviews, "luxury" amenities, etc. but was extremely disappointed when visiting. I was told that I would have to pay a $30 interview deposit (so Dave the trainer could test my dog's temperment), and that the $30 could later be applied to boarding services - ok whatever. I took my dog in 101-degree weather and was told to wait outside and sign a clipboard while Dave took my dog into a room alone for 10 minutes. I was not allowed to see the interview process. He came back and said my dog passed. When I asked to look over the fence to see the facilities, the fence was too high to see over (I even tried standing on a rock) and instead, Dave steered me away and explained the facilities inside to me. Why couldn't he just let me in to walk around and tour to see what I would be paying for? And allow me to see where my dog would potentially be staying overnight alone for the first time? He also said they might have to cancel their weekly training classes due to no air conditioning in the facility. I am not sure Dave, or this facility, is someone I would completely trust my dog with, therefore I will not be taking my dog here any time soon. Enjoy my $30, Briarcliff read more

Took my Golden Retriever puppy to Briarcliff for 6 days while we went on vacation on the advice of a friend. It bothered me they would not allow me in to view their facilities, but went along due to my friends advice. While he was there I called to inquire on how things were going since they do not have web cams. I was told by Dave my puppy tried to "kill" another dog, twice (Really, a GR puppy?) and because of this not allowed to play (kept in a crate). My puppy is high energy. He also said when he opened the crate door my puppy "charged out of the crate and almost broke my leg, so I slammed the door in his face to teach him a lesson". Really? He told me this and repeated it in a text (I have the text). After this I took my puppy to a couple of well known trainers to assess his temperament. They said they saw no signs of aggression. He recently stayed at Wags and Wiggles for a week, and they said he was fine. They have webcams so I watched from out of town frequently. I believe they do not know what they are doing, don't supervise or take care of their dogs, and mistreat some of them. Do not take your dog there! read more

I was in SoCal visiting friends for the weekend. My aunt dropped off my dog at Briar Cliff Pet Resort. We were lured by all the amenities this place has. This place mentions luxury rooms but there are no beds in the rooms. The dogs here are kept in kennels almost 24 hours a day. They reek of chorine and are not fully dry when the pet enters. My dog licked whatever cleaner was still lingering. My dog was throwing up the whole night Since I picked her up. The throw up was yellow foam and my dog reeked of cleaner. When it was time for pick up I noticed the pet handlers take them out for 1 minute and snap a quick picture to send to their owner. Then they put them back inside. This is alarming since they advertise outdoor play time. They also have kennels outside but the dogs never leave them. The "luxury rooms" they stay in are so hot and poorly ventilated. When I ventured off on my own to see the facilities I saw Clorox right outside the dogs kennel. Note the dog in the picture is not my pet but it should give you an idea on how little they care. The dogs face says it all. During my walk around of the facility I ran into an employee and they told me they were also not happy on how the owners run the place. The employee let me know they found a DEAD DOG once! The employee let me know the dogs here are kept in the dark most of the time and are also alone most of the time during their stay. Last thing I noticed was another employee take a dog outside to go potty and the dog was racing to use the restroom. The dog was urinating for almost two minutes. This shows a lack of attention. These poor dogs must be forced to hold their bladder for hours on end.I will be reporting this place to the BBB. To say I don't recommend this place is an understatement. read more

After a couple years of wanting to attend Val's handling seminar, I finally got a chance this past February at Briar Cliff Pet Resort. Briar Cliff Pet Resort's facility was so impressive - So much green, fresh land and lots of clean space. The heat-controlled building where the handling seminar occurred (which also serves as the resort's play area too) was also large, clean, and enjoyed by the handling seminar attendees and their dogs. Hospitality by the staff and Val was welcoming, supportive, and helpful to our group's needs and questions. The team really knows dogs. I'd recommend having your pet stay, get groomed, trained or showed by them. Val's expertise shared during her handling seminar was phenomenally helpful to all participants. Personally, I appreciated the expert refresher on handing foundations, learning the ever slightest variations for different breeds, dogs, and handlers, as well as stories from Val's long and successful career in AKC shows. Additionally, the group that Val attracted had very friendly and eager to learn and improve attendees. All participants walked away happy and progressed with their dog. read more

I attended a handling seminar with my dog at Briar Cliff last weekend. When I saw this place for the first time, I was amazed at how much land there is! The facility is beautiful and clean and the dogs have lots of room. The staff are friendly, helpful, and extremely dog-knowledgeable. They even offer a luxury boarding service where the dogs stay in a beautiful home on the property - they can hang out on the sofa and watch TV! Briarcliff Pet Resort and ALL of its employees are amazing!!! We originally brought our dogs, Ella and Gunnar to be boarded at Briarcliff. We were immediately greeted by very professional and friendly staff members. Our dogs had a great time at the boarding location. Very quickly we enrolled our pups into doggy daycare at the Briarcliff Chateau. Mr. Dave gave me a tour of the facility which was far nicer than I expected. The dogs get to rest on couches inside the house during nap time and play outside in spacious play area with dog pools, agility playscapes, toys, and fun for all pups. The staff is very kind and seem to be very conscious of dogs have all their vaccines as you need to bring proof. However, 2 of the 3 times we've boarded here, my dogs ended really sick. What makes me upset is that when I call to notify them, I'm given an answer of well there's nothing here. My dogs are home full time. We don't go to dog parks etc. there's no other place to get sick and they both have been sick since we picked them up. We're going on a full week. I wasn't expecting a refund or anything. It was more of an FYI call so they can hopefully do a better job of cleaning etc. but no, there was absolute no care or concern or acknowledged of the high likelihood that it came from their facility. There was only denial. We'll likely not use this place ever again. read more

So I brought my dog to Briarcliff pet resort about 3 years ago for the first time . He had a great time I was very happy with their services everybody there said they loved my dog. A year after that I took them again and same experience . I am a Disabled Proud Marine And my dog is a Marine Corps dog and has been a godsend to me. Nobody told me anything different. Now I call up and make a reservation and I get a call back from the manager Juliet and she tells me that the last time I brought my dog about 2 years ago she said that my dog was growling at certain attendants and not being cooperative. I never heard anything about this when I took my dog 2 years ago .Nobody said anything. Looking back in hindsight, When my dog came home he was acting a little skittish. I I don't know what they did to him. Yes they send out videos and everything looks fun but you really don't know what they're doing with your dog and they are a little secretive. What this lets me know is that they don't have the right people working there and I am glad that Juliet called me and let me know because I do not want to take my dog somewhere that they do not know how to handle dogs . My dog would not hurt a fly and I have had him for 4 years and he has never growled at anybody or anything. Also, if I read some of the other negative reviews they say the same thing that I was thinking post covid, They make you bring your dog to the front they go inside you don't really know what they're doing with your dog after they go inside the doors. Anyway I definitely would not refer Briarcliff to anybody anymore because I obviously have no confidence in their services and I appreciate them letting me know.
