My car broke down on the way upstate to celebrate my birthday. I had my car towed to the closest repair shop nearby, which ended up being briarcliff auto services. After a long and frustrating day, it was a pleasure to be helped by the owner Pascal and his wife. He got on the phone with my father who also owns a car repair shop and explained the extent of the damage. Then, he even gave me a ride to an enterprise about 10 minutes away so that I could rent a car! I would highly recommend this repair shop. read more

I have found this shop as a dealer-alternative for Mercedez Benz, as my C300 experienced an alternative failure. Instead of going to the dealer Pepe Group at White Plains, I drove my car to Briarcliff Auto Services on a Friday afternoon. I found the service has another name Double R. The owner Pascal was not in when I arrived, but his crew quickly helped to diagnose the problem in about 10-15 min. When Pascal was back, he helped me find parts and made a diagnosis and estimate to my 3rd party warranty provider Concord. Pascal's wife Jeniffer was so nice to give me a ride home. I was about to call for a Uber. For Sat, Pascal also called me to help me negotiate with Concord. Concord only covers the repair with refurbished parts. I was disappointed with Concord but asked Pascal to do the repair and try to get my car next Monday so i can go to work. I checked and found the shop does not work on Sat and Sun. Then on Sunday, I got a call from Pascal. My car was ready for pick up! Also instead of a refurbished part, Pascal helped me find a brand new alternator and still covered by Concord coverage limit. I picked up the car Sunday afternoon and went to work on Monday. Pascal and his crew deserve a five-star review. I later found Jeniffer is a national orchestra violinist. I would definitely bring my car back again if there is a problem. The costs is reasonable. Pascal charged me 0.5 hour for diagnosis. Concord covered rest of the repair. read more

Expedient service, honest and accurate quotes, the use of quality OEM and upgraded aftermarket parts, the friendly service, and detailed diagnostics that comes with true expertise keeps us coming back. Pascal and the guys are great. Been bringing my cars to him for 6 years now, first a '95 Toyota Camry and later a '10 Toyota Prius. He kept the Camry running near perfectly for a nearly 20-year-old car (lots of bits and pieces to repair over the years); I only gave it up when it got damaged by a chunk of road ice and the repair cost was way more than the car was worth. Pascal bought the Camry off me at a fair price (I checked KBB and got a few other offers to make sure). I then started bringing him my Prius, which has needed oil, brakes, tires, filters, auxiliary battery, and body work. Every time he was scrupulously fair and honest with me. When the replacement auxiliary battery failed early, he got me a new one under his warranty of the work. One of the new tires wasn't balanced quite right the first time - he redid the balancing for free. In short, Pascal is honest about time and labor, provides a fair price, tells you if he finds anything else wrong while doing the work, never does any work without your permission, and gets it right almost every time (and if it's not right the first time he makes good on it). I've been dealing with Pascal for years and he has treated me and everyone that I've sent to him like family. What distinguishes this shop from the rest is that they excel at diagnosis; they have the tools and knowledge necessary to determine the cause of even the most elusive and intermittent car problems. My experience with many other shops and dealers in the area is that they just try different parts until your car is "fixed" (if you're lucky)- not here. Each time I've picked up my car it was obvious that there was no guesswork involved while determining the problem. Pascal always saves the part that had failed and concisely explains what had gone wrong with it. Our family's small fleet cars has never been better. Beware of "Briarcliff Auto Services"! They are not "Double R", a very reputable business that operated in the same location."Briarcliff" will RIP YOU OFF! I requested an oil change and was charged $133.63! They did a "service check" which was not requested, discussed nor authorized. Nothing was repaired; yet, $62.50 was charged on the bill just "to look" & recommend. My windshield wipers were working properly when I left the car with them.Upon return, the wipers were on the "service check list". The rubber was ripped & flapping on both ends of the right wiper. Although they were not brand new, they were functioning & intact when I drove to them on a rainy day. Also, when I called to check if my car was ready, I was requested to bring a check to pay the bill. I was repeatedly asked for a check on the phone & when I arrived. They reluctantly accepted my credit card. My records clearly reflect that I have been a long term customer (27 years). I have always paid uneventfully by credit card. In addition, I had to ask for a bill itemization. It only reflected the total with no indication of the "service check". Pascal Doran, the owner, has left a trail of dissatisfied customers at his former location, based on prior Yelp reviews. This first interaction is my last. I will not be back. I had hoped to transition from "Double R" to "Briarcliff". This is not possible since Mr. Doran lacks the attention, integrity, finesse and responsible business practices that Rob at "Double R" manifested so well. I'm so confused by these reviews. Avoid this place. Shoddy work and dishonest. I brought my car to Rob at Double R for years and he was amazing, quality work and honest. Nothing like the group that has bought his business. My main problem is that three days after spending over $500 for the work done to my exhaust, my muffler fell off my car while I was driving down 9A. Three days later. When I called to tell them about it, I left three messages and my calls were never returned. I saw one person say they treat you like family. This is not how my family treats me. In addition, they installed new windshield wipers on my car that don't function properly and charged me for a $52 synthetic oil change when I did not give permission for that and wasn't even asked if I wanted synthetic. I took my car there at 8:30 am and explained in detail what the problem was. I never heard from them until 5:45 pm that evening and at that time I wasn't even given a quote for the work that needed to be done. Then after the work they did to the exhaust my muffler fell off. All in all I can't think of one good thing about my experience. I would not recommend them. read more
