I had my AC compressor fixed and replaced by them at a very decent price. They even fixed my front bumper and splash guard on the house. Check for noise under suspension. 1st stated that is was drive axles issue, I spent almost 1000.00 on repair. The issue still existed, then they mentioned it needed a transmission fluid change. I realized they were just guessing, I took my vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed and repaired. Be advised to get second opinion before having this shop do any work. read more

The quality of the work at this shop is very high. Not only that, but the prices are extremely reasonable considering how highly the shop values their customers and maintains relationships with them. Really horrible experience with Jo-Lea. Been going there for years for routine car service on my wife and my car. Brought car in for NYS inspection, waited in lobby. Mechanic advised car had passed, and so I paid and went to my car. My 2020 mint WRX smelled liked oil as soon as I got in the driver's seat. I drove home a short distance away and still smelled oil, so I popped the hood and was mortified to see the oil cap off and oil sprayed all over my engine, battery, fuse box, and wiring!! Still haven't received an answer why the oil cap was removed for an inspection. To their credit a worker came to my house and said he would clean it up, he was holding a crumbled up paper towel. I was quite upset since I have babied this car. A paper towel wasn't going to do this cleanup!!! Spent the next three hours trying to clean this mess. There was even oil on the windshield. Car is okay now except the hood insulation mat is impregnated with oil. read more

My husband's aunt has been using them for many years and would never go anywhere else. We recently bought my son his first used car and it had many issues, including a check engine light, so we brought it in. I was very impressed with how thorough they were and how quickly they fixed the multiple issues on the car. Def my first and last experience here. Poor/Shady customer service. Brought my car to be diagnosed during the long winter. The heat was not working and I had a feeling the head gasket was cracked. I had my infant with me so fixing the heat ASAP was a necessity. I asked the man to put the diagnosis in writing along with an estimate to fix. He said he could diagnose it but refused to put his findings in writing. It struck me as very odd that he was not willing to write down the diagnosis. I asked Why? Without hesitation the man said, you'll have to take it somewhere else, and turned me away. I was shocked! Any reputable shop would be willing to diagnose and put their diagnosis in writing for their customer. Based upon my experience, the jerk did me a favor. read more

I brought in my vehicle with an issue. They diagnosed and replaced one of the wheel bearings quickly and professionally. No issues. I brought it back because another problem popped up but this time I knew what it was. My wife brought it in and I spoke to them over the phone. They told my wife that it wasn't what I said it was and they changed something else. The problem persisted. I brought my vehicle somewhere else and told them the same thing. I was there over 20 years and walked away thinking these guys are nowhere, well still very obtuse and if they don't want to work on a upholstery repair they make up a BS song and dance .... instead of simply saying, "no I wont want to do the work " .... slight sagging in the original headliner ... they had expecting removing the windows and repainting the entire car because they could not be bothered to apply a little contact cement to a 3 inch piece of fabric that was sagging ... totally unprofessional and just rude ... the car is a 53 year old French-Italian sport coupe. read more

Honesty, Integrity, and Professionalism. Go to many car repair business with a list of ambiguous problems. What are the odds of the place checking out your car and finding nothing? It happened at Joe Lea several times. I came away with a simple lube on my brakes. Cost? No charge! My battery was dead. It would go without saying that most places would have sold me a new one. Not Joe Lea! They charged it for 20.00 That was a year ago. This place is a gem! I'm giving them six stars! No wonder they been in business since 1962. Props go to Jo-Lea. I needed the rear window of my convertible replaced. It's a specialty job and I was referred to these guys. One place told me they could only replace it by replacing the whole top! But Jo-Lea gave me a reasonable price for just the window. They did the job and everything is good again. Every single time I've gone here, they've made a mess of my car. They did an "oil change" and my oil was black! I had to go back and tell them that my oil was not changed and then they did it. They also jip my father every single chance they get, he doesn't know about cars so they said this and that needs to be done when it doesn't and then my dad ends up spending an arm and a leg which is not even be needed. I'm very dissatisfied with this service and never going back. read more

Wow- how are there no other posts about how great these guys are?! I thought for sure I'd find many. I'm no car expert. I rely on the honesty and thoroughness of the folks working on my cars- I have one 2006 and one 1993 that is still hanging on. I've never felt like Jo-Lea is selling me services or parts. (Thinking of the Johnson rod from Seinfeld!) They seem to do quality work without ripping you off on price, or on unnecessary stuff. It's a cool old school shop.
