Popular studio! Been going here for ages. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Brian is awesome, he does a great job! Quick and efficient![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He has very realistic standards, and I believe his specialty is hair color. He does an amazing job blending and making it look so natural. It's amazing. Not many hairstylists can do what he does. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He's very popular and busy, so I sometimes wish the experience here didn't feel so rushed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

3 years later and I still go to Ana for my hair! I've done purple balayage and natural balayage and I've been happy every time. The color lasts for SO LONG which is amazing and my hair is still healthy! I only need to get it recolored once a year.

Brian did a great job on my hair; it really turned out like the inspo pic! I never knew my hair could get that light, and he had to fix my previous hair color job in the process. It's a really nice natural look. In terms of cut, he went a little fast; but super happy with the color job! His after service is great too when I went back to get my bangs trimmed a little shorter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He's such a friendly guy too, seems to have a lot of regular customers![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I went to the studio for a color correction. I've had dark red in my hair for like 5 years and I asked for a caramel kind of golden color and omg am I SO happy with my results. Ryan did my hair!! He was incredible. I trusted him and just let him do his thing, he chose a color that worked with my skin and was what I wanted. He did an incredible job. I was actually stunned. And prices are great- best you can find in SoCal. Especially OC. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And on top of it, everyone was sweet to me and welcoming. Great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Omg and he's QUICK but detailed. I did an entire color correction and haircut and it took like 3 hours.

Super surprised at all the positive reviews Ana has. One of the worst haircuts I've ever had in my life. Ana spent a total of 5 min -- not kidding-- cutting my hair. It was literally snip-snip-snip in a bowl shape and she was done. From the outset, she seemed disinterested . Her attitude wasn't friendly at all and she was borderline cold. Her two brothers were in the small "studio" as well. No hellos, no greetings. They just sat there cackling like hyenas. Just asked me if I was there to see Ana. She asked me what I wanted and I requested a bob since I have an important interview coming up. She snipped my hair along a straight line paying no attention to mu face shape. No attempts were made to layer the haircut so it looks voluminous. She said styling takes care of that. She also pointed out that my previous haircut had smaller hairs that she couldn't work with. There was enough long her for her to create volume, but bottomline, she was disinterested. She made $50 for a "haircut" that I would think twice about paying $10 for. She is an embarrassment to her profession! And should consider upping her customer service if she wishes to stay in the business. I'd also like to request a refund as this is appallingly bad. I am weeping as I write this. Also, if you are not interested in coming to work, don't! Don't take it out on a customer. read more

I seriously had not been to a hair stylist in years....so I was a bit hesitant. However, I did my research and found Brian Guy Studio with oodles of INCREDIBLE reviews!! Boy was I glad I chose this studio!! I went with Ryan who was friendly and seemed to know what I was looking for after showing him a few pics and sharing some of the frustrations I had with my hair. Ryan was great with the time --always moving yet not hurriedly; he was so good with separating and coloring, and flowed easily with the scissors. I appreciated everything so much!!! Ana did a natural baylage plus a hair cut and blow dry for me a while back and it was worth the price compared to other places that I was looking at. It took around 2 hours and she did not waste any time during the process. Ryan and his assistant Ben did a really amazing job!! They took extra care of my hair and had great customer service. Showed them a picture of what I wanted and they matched it well. Ana was great!!! I went in scared because this was my first time changing to a new person. But she suggests colors and styles that compliment you and she's not there to milk your wallet. She does an amazing job. As I walked in, she was finishing up with someone else and her hair looked amazing, too! Quick but efficient! I have gotten so much compliments for my hair and sent out referrals already! And she did mention she gets clients by referral! The place was pretty clean. It's smaller than your usual salons but it's in a sola salons building. But you get a 5 star outcome! read more

Thanks Brian for your own version of reviving my hair--- as well as educating me about coloring my stubborn roots but rather leave some whites and blend it in with some lighter shades of highlights. Love your honesty!! I will definitely recommend to others but most of all I am one happy customer whom you've captured with your superb work--- definitely coming back again! Got suggested by a friend and my hair came out perfectly how I wanted! Ryan worked super quickly and efficiently and the session also ended quickly than I imagined. I just showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to recreate amazingly. I also admire how friendly and genuine everyone is in the salon. definitely going back for root touch ups because the pricing is also AMAZINGG! I have been going to Ana for about a year now and I highly recommend her. When I first met her, she was able to fix a previous balayage that was not great. I was really happy to have found someone that knows how to work on Asian hair (I have fine and thin hair). She does a really good job with my coloring each time. The cut and color she gives me grow out really nicely in between sessions with her. I can't recommend her enough and am glad I found someone who does such a good job consistently every time with my hair. I trust her and now I usually just tell her to do what she thinks will look good for me. You won't regret stopping by to see Ana. read more

Brian is the absolute best in color in all of Orange County! He is a true artist and knows his craft! You also won't spend hours in the salon because he is so fast he will have you in and out in about an hour, looking beautiful. I spent so many years when I first moved to OC to try and find someone who could do color without turning my hair orange, frying it, making it too light, and went thru a ton of hairstylists all to no avail until I found Brian. What a godsend! The best part is his prices are extremely reasonable and much lower than the others that destroyed my hair. Thank you Brian!! read more

Watch out from the unexplained sudden price hike . I was charged double the last visit in less than two months. You might ask how much? A hundred dollars more for less service!! Not to mention the balayage left my hair burnt. Make sure you document the charges before they do any work. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Ryan was. I've never liked getting haircuts or going to a salon, since I've always had bad experiences and felt like I wasn't listened to. This was by far, the best experience at a hairdresser, that I've ever had. Ryan was so talented. I came in for a consultation, showed him what I wanted, and the next day I was in. He managed to color my hair super fast, listened to exactly what I wanted, and gave me beautiful subtle balayage that suited me beautifully. I will absolutely be coming back. read more

I came in for my free consultation with my hair a few weeks ago with Brian, and he was honest about my permed hair condition and how he would strongly advise not to bleach it harshly. After scrolling through some picture references I had, he let me know confidently that he would be able to achieve a very natural look for me without using too much bleach. I had my appointment today with Brian, and I was blown away by his speed, precision, and positive energy. His team members all cared for the clients in the hair salon, and they all worked together on my hair when their respective clients were waiting for treatments/dyes to set in. Maybe this place has high reviews for coloring but I just had the worst haircut experience from Brian. I've been to this place a few times throughout the years and the service has only gone downhill each time. I came in for a women's long haircut and I came out with the most unflattering and uneven hair. I don't normally leave reviews but the whole experience was so bad I feel the high rating this palace has is deceiving. I felt extremely uncomfortable, it didn't feel like Brian listened to what I wanted. He spent about 5 min on the actual cut and ignored my comments about the length being uneven. I asked for a 4" trim on the bottom but he came in so heavy and cut off so much there was no going back. The side bangs are also uneven it looks so bad and I have no option at this point to just wait for it to grow back. I went in with super easy to style hair and came out with the worst haircut that's so hard to style. The whole time Brian acted extremely conceited and ignored my concerns about face shape and what styled suited me. I will never come back to this place and people should be warned. read more

After burning my hair (lol whoops) and a series of bad haircuts...I found this salon through yelp and decided to try it out. I couldn't be happier with my haircut and full balayage! Everyone in the salon is super cool and immediately made me feel comfortable. Ana was professional, quick and did an amazing job. I have super thick and curly hair so I'm used to a negative reaction from stylists when they first see my hair but I only got comments on how they loved my hair. First time getting my hair professionally done, i came in wanting my whole head bleached!! thank god for Ana, during consultations she warned about how damaging it could be if i went full blond, especially since my hair was self dyed too. At the end, I lovedddd the color and how my hair looked! She even gave me a trim and curled my hair! Service there is amazing as well! Definitely going back. read more

My teenage daughter had her hair cut from Brian and she was smiling from ear to ear the whole time, she loves her haircut. I was so impressed with his work that I decided the next time I needed my hair done I'm coming back. Fast forward to yesterday.. I wanted a change with my hair so I decided to go back to Allen and see what magic he could work. I wanted to try something a bit different from what I usually go for and I knew Allen could do it but from previous trauma of going to the same person multiple times and never getting exactly what I wanted, I was still scared. Again he calmed my nerves by taking his time and making sure everything looked perfect. He specializes in balayage and cuts, and I had such a difficult time finding someone in OC who could do it properly. By the time I found him, I was desperate--my hair had been fried by other stylists who over-bleached it, leaving it broken and damaged. It was tragic. But he worked his magic! During my first visit, he consulted with me, fixed my hair, and gave me stunning results. He also gave me a plan to restore my hair's health, and true to his word, my hair has never been better. Since then, I've been a loyal client. His balayage is always natural and seamless, blending beautifully with my natural color as it grows out. I only need to see him a few times a year for touch-ups because his work is so flawless. My family was introduced to Brian by a friend of our son. My son is very picky about who dies his hair and he was always not satisfied with his previous haircuts. On his first visit to Brian's studio, he was very satisfied and he said he found the perfect person to cut his hair. Since my son was satisfied with his haircut and it looked good on him, I decided to give Brian a chance as well. This was my very first time having a guy cut my hair but, it was not weird or anything and my wife liked my haircut. Next week, it was my wife's turn to get a trim and she was quite satisfied as well. Our family of three have found a perfect person to cut our hair. Another thing that really works for our family is that Brian is open on Sundays too. Since we operate a business from Monday to Saturday, it was really hard to squeeze in haircuts during the week. Brian is the MAN! I've been getting my haircut by him for over 10 years now. I know my brother and a couple friends that have also been going to Brian for just as long. The reason why we keep going back? Simple, Brian has always given great cuts and at a very decent price. He's also got a great attitude and welcoming spirit which makes new customers feel very at ease with him. I've never had problems with Brian ever...when it comes to what style I want my hair this time it's as simple as telling him a couple details of what I'm looking for and showing him a picture. This is my first review on Yelp even though I have been an avid Yelp user for years. That's how much this means to me. I went to 2 other hair stylists and spent over $300 each time to get my hair colored darker. Each time they only touched up my roots and highlights and did not address the change. I was told that I would have to come in for toning treatments several times and yet it would take 2 or 3 visits before they could get my color to where I wanted it to be. I found this salon on Yelp and had my skepticism when I first entered. It wasn't the fancy salons that I had been going to previously and I hoped they could deliver on their word. The entire treatment took under 2 hours (including cut) and it was exactly what I had hoped for. Gina did an amazing job with the color and cut and it was amazing! It is cozy, clean and has all the amenities of large salons tucked thoughtfully in the smaller space. Brian is a wonderful stylist. Again, I have to come back this salon. I had an appointment at 4:30 with Ryan to do my hair, but I was too busy with work and came late. I called him if he can stay to do my hair because next week I have a vacation with my family. I don't want other people from other salon to do my hair. Ryan was happy waiting for me for an hour and a half, even though the salon was supposed to close at 4:00. I came late but he still greeted me with a big smile. Also, he recommended me to change my style a little bit by cutting my hair shorter. I couldn't say no to his advice because I believe in him that he will make me look much better. The length was perfect and there was nothing to complain. He was so hardworking and spent so much time to cut the length that I wanted. I've only recently started going to Brian but I can confidently echo all other sentiments on this review page. Brian provides a great haircut at an affordable price. I was paying double for the same quality elsewhere and Biran can do it in half the time. A simple men's cut in 15-20 minutes. On top of that, Brian is extremely personable and funny. No awkward pauses or conversations and he seems genuinely interested about the lives of his clients. I was referred by multiple sources and I'm glad I gave him a chance. He has a brand new spot and I encourage anyone looking for a better haircut at a reasonable price to check him out. I realized it's been over a year since I left my first review on Brian Guy Salon and I'm still going there to have Brian style my hair. I love seeing his salon busy all the time...and love that I can book my appointments on ScheduleCity.com. It makes it convenient. I always like to keep changing my look from season to season and year to year, and I can count on him giving me honest advice. For example, I've been wanting to do an "Undercut" for a while, but my hair hasn't been long enough...until now. Super fast! 7 mins hair cut.... but the best I've been going to (or following around) Brian for 8 years now - outside of my clear bias because of how long I've trusted him with a pair of scissors around my neck, this guy clearly knows what he's doing. He charges a lot less than what he should given his training - you'll realize his mastery once you step into his clean, well maintained store and trust him to do what he does best - make you look better than you did when you first walked in. She isn't one of those hair dressers that takes their own ideas and runs with them - she really listens to you. She is so talented and does amazing cuts and color. This is the first time Brian cut my hair, and I am extremely happy with his work. Since I moved to this area over 2 years ago, I have been trying to find a good hair stylist without success until now. Brian knew exactly what I wanted and needed. I have healthy, but thin and frizzy hair. He cut my hair neck length with a U-shape at the bottom and just a few layers closer to the bottom to add volume. This is how my hairstylist (back when I lived in another state) used to do my hair. Brian also gave me some pointers for easy hair care and daily styling. I am one very satisfied customer. Awesome hairdresser - well I only speak for one but the others always seem to make their clients walk away looking fabulous. Awesome décor, awesome products - they even offer you wine. Oh and their shampooing chairs even have a part for the legs to come out and recline fully. My hair dresser is Brian Vo. I know my family and I will be going to Aldo for years to come. Before finding Aldo, I was going to a well-known, high-end salon on PCH in Newport Beach. Somewhere along the way, they stopped listening to what I wanted. My hair always looked great when I walked out of the salon, but the moment I washed it myself, I realized the cut just wasn't right. Either it wasn't a good cut, or it simply didn't suit my face. I'm a busy person--I don't have time to spend every morning styling my hair just to make a haircut work. I spent weeks researching salons on Yelp and probably overthought the whole process before finally making an appointment with Aldo. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had found the right person. He's genuine, straightforward, and refreshingly honest--no fluff, no sales pitch, just someone who truly cares about doing great work. The salon has such a fun, welcoming energy, and it's obvious everyone genuinely enjoys working together. Aldo took the time to really listen. We talked at length about what I had liked--and more importantly, what I hadn't liked--about previous cuts. There was also a language barrier, so another employee had to come over to help communicate, but they still would not provide the round-brush blowout I asked for something I've had done without issue at many other salons. I ultimately had to walk out before they finished because I was concerned about further tangling and damage. Thankfully, they did not charge me, but it was still a very disappointing and stressful experience.
