Leading up to my appointment I was already very excited to meet Jessie and I was right to be! I left the appointment very happy with the results - my hair felt healthier and looked amazing. Jessie made sure with me throughout the appointment if I was okay with what she had recommended. She knew exactly where she wanted to start my layers and even took the time to show me how to style my hair on my own as well! At the previous hair salon they would thin out my hair so so much. Yes, it did feel lighter but often times I'd leave the appointment feeling as though they had thinned it out way too much. Jessie made sure not to thin it and even told me herself since I already had thin wavy hair it was best to avoid that. She mainly focused on using scissors rather than thinning blades to give me the layers I've wanted. Results came out amazing and I did not leave worried about how much hair I may have lost. The hairstyle she gave me is very easy to maintain as well as she assured me it would look fine as it grows out as well. So excited to go back and try out maybe a different style of bangs with her! Overall my experience with her was amazing, she was sweet, also had a nice little Korean drama on for me to watch. I tend to yap and she made sure to have some small talk while focusing on the haircut. Y'all, let me put you ON this place. Jessie/Jin is the best. The first time I came in was last year for a hair cut. I had just moved to the area again and wanted to find a hairstylist during my time here. I read a review that said she'll let you know her honest opinion and I'm so glad because for me personally, I would hate it if I came in wanting something and the hairstylist thinks it's ugly (but is quiet about it) and I walk out feeling regretful that I wanted to try xyz lol. My first haircut came out nicely after we chatted about what I wanted and what she thinks would look best, and she recommended me a brown I should try in the future. Today is that future time. It's my second time here! I came in knowing vaguely what I wanted (Some sort of lighter brown with bangs since I had black hair with no bangs lol). We chatted and then I simply trusted the process. She ended up giving me curtain bangs that can also be a little wispy also, and cut my hair to a length that looked soooo good. There was so much attention to detail when she was cutting too. It was great. For the color, she said that a lighter color might not actually look the best on me and a subtle brown might be better! I was pretty down for whatever she thought looked good so I trusted the process again. Let me tell you... this subtle brown looked so good with the cut. Also, my hair? Soft as HECK. It was kinda gritty before so I was shook when I touched my hair after the appt. She chatted with me lots and also gave me space too. It was a great balance and also she answered my questions!! I hadn't had a haircut in a year and a half so I was long overdue. Jessie did an amazing job cutting the layers evenly and thinning out my thick hair. I also got the magic straight perm and I hadn't gotten one in about 10 years so I was nervous at how it would come out, but Jessie worked incredibly fast without sacrificing the quality and I was so surprised by how the time flew by! I loved the haircut, but unfortunately, the bangs didn't turn out as I hoped. While she did a great job with the overall style and length, I felt that the bangs were cut without much precision. Unlike other stylists I've had, who take the time to section, part, and measure the hair to frame the face, she seemed to cut my bangs without a clear plan. I was really looking forward to my appointment on Wednesday, especially after reading so many glowing 5-star reviews. The studio was easy to find and very clean, which made a great first impression. Unfortunately, I left feeling extremely disappointed with the haircut. I came in with long hair and was ready for a change--nothing drastic, just a bit shorter (below the shoulders) with some long layers and face-framing pieces. I showed her three reference photos and explained that I have thick, slightly wavy hair and very little time to style it with two young kids. She seemed to understand, but what I received was a blunt long bob with no visible layers. She insisted layers wouldn't look right in the back, but it left the cut feeling flat and heavy. Before she started styling, I politely asked if she could add some face-framing layers to soften the look, but she made several excuses and refused. I tried to communicate that I wasn't happy, even referencing the photos again, but she continued to push back and repeatedly said, "Do you understand?"--which came off as condescending and dismissive. In the end, I paid and even tipped, because she did spend the time. But I left feeling unheard and disappointed. For the future, I hope she learns to really listen to her clients and take their concerns seriously. A haircut should be a collaboration, not a lecture. read more

After getting a layered haircut about a year ago that I really loved, I came back for a cut and digital perm. For others looking to do perms, please let Jessie know if you've treated your hair in anyway, especially if there's remaining bleached, highlighted, or balayaged hair. I was growing out my balayage and even after the cut to my desired length, there would still be some color left at the tips. Jessie provided her honest and professional suggestions on how the perm treatment might affect my damaged hair. She treated my hair first with a conditioning treatment which I think helped. Overall, I'm pleased with my perm. It is a bit of a learning curve because there are still styling and shaping things you have to do, and Jessie will explain.
