Couldn't have asked for a better team to help my wife and I buy our first home. First I'd like to point out that my wife and I aren't always the easiest to work with. We are both prior military so we are extremely proactive and expect the best from whatever place is working with us because we bring our A game. The rep we worked with was Jonathan Solek and let me tell you that this man was hands down the most proactive person as far as making sure things on his end were done as well as holding the sellers feet to the fire to get things moving. He made sure my wife and I got the lowest interest rate we could get. He would call my wife and I and give us up dates several times a week, anytime we had a question (even if he was busy) he would stop what he was doing and answer our question ensuring we completely understood what was going on. The other two individuals that we worked with were Cindy Terrazas and Itzel Hernandez. These two ladies did an epic job keeping us informed, ensuring paperwork was sent in a timely manner and that everything was filled out properly. I have already given Brian Deckers office (and Jonathan Solek himself) information to friend who are looking to buy and I 100% without a doubt would recommend Brian Deckers office to anyone who is looking to buy. Not only will you receive the best customer service but you will have a care free home buying process provided to you by the most kind, hard working individuals that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Thank you to Brian Decker, Jonathan Solek and the Guaranteed Rate family doing such an amazing job and making my wife and my dream of owning a home come true!!! read more

Brian Decker and his team at Loan Depot could not be more amazing!! Having bought two previous homes, I knew what a nightmare the entire paperwork (and loan process in general) was. From the first day we decided to go with Brian Decker and Loan Depot, I knew it was going to be different. Brian is the kind of guy that you know is going a million miles an hour, has 20 things on his plate, and is at the top of his game. Yet, somehow he took the time out of his day to answer any and all questions that I had. He explained to me the different options, mortgage jargon, and what to expect. He took the time to look at our current credit and find ways to bump it up 40 points in order to get a better loan rate. Also, it meant a lot that Brian didn't only call once and that was it but rather He called several times to see if he could help in any way. He asked if there were any properties we were serious about that he could crunch the numbers for us and let us know what our payment would be. Let me just say Brian knocked it out of the park. As for the paperwork part of the process, I LOVED IT. I'm naturally unorganized, disheveled, and going in multiple directions at the same time. The user interface that the Decker team/Loan Depot uses is amazing. They have a secure portal that they list specific documents they need from you in. No more wondering what documents they need from me, do they have that document, am I forgetting something, etc. All in all Brian and his team were amazing. Even though they're the busiest Mortgage broker in town, they made me feel like my loan was the only one they were working on and I was priority. Thanks LoanDepot! read more

We thought about refinancing our home mortgage but put off the process because we remember it was a long, arduous process the last time we did it. We were referred to Modern Lending and were VERY pleased with them. MODERN The "modern" in their name is well deserved--the entire application and signing process (except for hand-signing the closing docs with the notary) was done quickly and electronically. They harness the power of technology to their advantage. SECURE Even the document submission process was electronic via a secure link they sent us. It was reassuring that they weren't asking us to email documents containing sensitive information. I work in the financial services field and know how important securing client information is. COMMUNICATION Throughout the application and approval process, we heard from the Modern Lending team on a continuous basis--sometimes multiple times a day. They called and emailed constantly, and we appreciated it. We knew every step of the way where our application was. GREAT RATE! We got a 1.99% rate on a 10-year mortgage and it's by far the lowest rate we have ever had on a mortgage! We're very excited about how much money we'll eventually save. FAST The entire process from start to finish, from application through funding, took just a tad over 30 days. Very impressive! Overall, we are very pleased we used Modern Lending for our mortgage refi and we recommend them without hesitation. We wish we had used them in the past. Nice work team! read more

Chris Decker is simply the best mortgage lender out there. From start to finish, he exceeded every expectation and made the process of buying our first home smooth and stress-free. Not only did he help us, but he's also helped other members of our family secure their homes. His reputation for excellence is well-earned. Even with the challenge of closing in under three weeks--and this happening during a period with three national holidays--Chris delivered without missing a beat. When hiccups arose due to our own delays with paperwork, Chris remained calm, professional, and completely on top of everything. His attention to detail and determination to get the job done are unmatched. My mom, a seasoned real estate agent, even said Chris is the fastest and most thorough lender she has ever worked with. That is saying a lot, considering her decades of experience in the industry! Beyond his exceptional work ethic, Chris is a kind and thoughtful person. He made us feel confident and cared for every step of the way, going above and beyond in ways that felt truly personal. He even sent us a thoughtful gift when we moved in, which speaks to his character and how much he values his clients. If you're looking for a lender who is fast, thorough, and deeply committed to your success, Chris Decker is the one. Stop your search--you won't find anyone better. He's absolutely untouchable! read more

After a few attempts from them, I finally agreed to do a refinance (VA IRRRL) back in November. I expressed to them that I was in a forbearance, but he said it was ok as long as we had made at least three payments. I thought this was fine because we only missed two payments and made the rest which was about 8 payments so we were good. He would give me some excuse week after week about giving us a better rate, which didn't happen ended up being the same one as originally given. I expressed to him over and over that I was doing my kitchen and needed this to go through as soon as possible. Well now we are in February and nothing was ever processed or closed. Every thing they asked we gave them, but now they claim the two months I missed because of the forbearance needed to be paid, after this being my original question (back in November) and him saying no. I'm just disappointed of how long this took, and of all the BS, they put us through, if I would have known that they couldn't get the job done, I would have went with a more competent company. I had done a refinance with them before and they didn't work in this manner, I'm not sure what's going on now. I just hope no other veteran goes through all of this, or anyone else at that. Now I'm screwed, because the rates are back up and stuck with my kitchen bill read more

Being first time home buyers, it was important to us to work with professionals that we could trust. Our realtors Brian and Lisa Mason from team Forss, referred us to Brian Decker. From the minute we walked in the front door of his office, we were greeted with a smile felt welcomed. We met with Brian, he was prepared, took the time necessary to thoroughly explained not just one option but all options we would qualify for. Broke everything down so that we fully understood. We left Brian's office knowing this is whom we wanted to assist us with the biggest investment of our life time. From beginning to the end Brian and his team of professional were always available. Always going over and above exceeded our expectations. Brian and his team handled every aspect of the process. Updating us along the way, of how close we were coming to being home owners. Because of Brian and his team of professional we are proud home owners. I would highly recommend Brian Decker to anyone. I understand why he is one of the top 25 Mortgage Broker in the nation. Thank you Brian Decker, for an Amazing experience and for being part of our new journey As Home Owners Nate and Florena read more

I can't say enough good things about the process with Brian Decker of Modern Lending! I have bought one previous house and done a few refis in the past with another loan provider and when I started working with Modern Lending, I immediately knew something was different. First of all, the communication was fast, responsive, and concise in ways that I could understand. Brian even sent me custom videos to go over the loan, the rate, any problems that may arise, etc. It made it so easy for me to understand. I got pre-approved which helped me know what I could qualify for and then the approval process was super easy. The online portal made it easy to update any documents they needed and I could sign almost everything on docusign so I never had to be interrupted from my work. I got a smoking rate as well! During the offers and escrow process, Brian and his team were in communication with the sellers to help get our offer approved. I have already told so many people about Modern lending and am hoping to get my family hooked up as well. I will never go anywhere else for a loan. Thanks Brian and his team! It is no wonder Brian is one of the top loan officers in the country! read more

If you're looking for a mortgage broker who goes above and beyond, look no further than Chris Decker! I had the absolute pleasure of working with Chris for my first home purchase, and I can't say enough about how amazing the entire experience was. From start to finish, Chris made what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and easy. We were working under a very tight deadline, and Chris delivered every step of the way. What truly blew me away was his dedication--despite being out of the country, on vacation, and even feeling under the weather, Chris was consistently reaching out, keeping me informed, and making sure everything stayed on track. His commitment to his clients is truly unmatched. On top of that, his entire team was incredibly responsive, professional, and a joy to work with. I felt supported and confident throughout the process, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris to everyone I know--friends, family, even my own children in the future. If you're ever in need of a mortgage broker, do yourself a favor and work with Chris Decker. If I could give more stars I would! Wow is all I can say about Chris Decker and the team at Modern Lending. From start to finish the process was seamless and they handled everything for me. The communication, explanations. step by step updates and their response time was amazing. I would have thought buying a home would be one of the most stressful experiences in my life but they took all of the stress out of it and helped me every step of the way! I was able to share my experience and progress through the process with family members and they were impressed with the thoroughness and details I was being provided. I love the home I purchased but I would use them again in a second! I highly recommend Chris Decker and the Modern Lending team. You do not find service like this anywhere nowadays! Top notch for sure. They sure know how to make someone feel like they are their only client. In this market I cannot believe they made this happen for me! When I emailed Chris in the beginning I told him I needed magic and he did not disappoint! One hundred stars for Modern Lending. read more

Brian Decker did our financing for our home loan. They were also very helpful and attentive. The only negative thing I could say...is that when it came to signing our final documents they had our names wrong on all the paperwork. When we brought it to their attention, they did make us feel pressured into thinking it wouldn't be a big deal and it almost felt a little threatening because we wanted the docs 100% accurate. We told them no and waited a few more days to have everything done correctly. So make sure all your paperwork is correct and in order before signing...and when they tell you it has to be done that day...it doesn't! Team Forss made our home buying in Murrieta such an easy process. Our realtor, Daniel Jarvis, was truly amazing. He was extremely attentive and would always find time to accommodate all our needs. He was also very professional and did not ever make us feel pressured. He was also very honest and his experience definitely showed in the type of realtor he is. If you are trying to purchase a home...definitely request him. read more

We worked Modern Lending to buy our first home and we couldn't be more proud, happy, and satisfied that we did. The team members we worked with were incredibly easy to talk to and kept us updated about the status of our loan and walked us through the escrow process. Daniel Garcia was our go-to man and was available to answer our every question and helped us problem solve when we ran into snags. Daniel stuck with us as a deal fell through and encouraged us to stay positive and continue searching. After talking to more than five lenders that gave us the run around and being totally overwhelmed by the home buying process, it truly was a blessing finding Modern Lending and working with Daniel! We closed on 12/28/2021!Modern Lending has remained available to remind us to make our first mortgage payments and they've even explained the tax documents to look out for. Both myself and my real estate agent will be recommending Modern Lending to family and friends looking to buy property in this crazy housing market. Again, I cannot recommend them enough! read more

My husband and I were introduced to Sean by our realtor in late June 2022. We had just started thinking about buying a home, and were shopping around for a lender who could meet our needs. Our path to home buying was a little challenging because my husband is salaried, and I earn tips and commissions. FHA was the best option for us. One hiccup we had was FHA required me to be in my line of work for at least 1 year (I had been in my industry for over 17 years but temporarily switched to another role during the pandemic), so we had to wait a few months to apply. In the meantime Sean gathered all of our documents via our secure portal, and we made sure that we didn't take on additional debt etc. When we found a home and it was time to go to underwriting we submitted updated documents. Sean and team were responsive, professional and informative. They worked well with our realtor and with escrow and got us to the finish line with a decent interest rate! We have been in our home for 8 days, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you! read more

This is the second time in three years we used Brian and his team at Modern Lending and let me tell you, absolutely no disappointments the second time around. In fact, rarely can expectations in life be met time after time and this time, they were far surpassed. We needed to sell our condo and buy a new home for multiple reasons. I was coming out of a debt relief program and had no hope of buying a new home for several more years. Brian understood our constraints and needs. He and his team worked hard at guiding us through exitting our debt relief program, getting us qualified, and funding our new home purchase. His continued support and communication made it that much easier and not once did he make us feel like it was not possible. He coached us through the process and got us into the perfect home for our needs. Brian and his team truly care and do what they do for the right reasons. No hassles, just true, honest, caring support. I would and will continue using Brian and the Modern Lending team! Thanks again! read more

FIVE STAR COMPANY WITH AMAZING STAFF! This was our second time working with Modern Lending and they did not disappoint! We had an excellent experience working with them, from start to finish. From the moment we reached out, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive. They took the time to explain every step of the mortgage process clearly and made sure we felt confident in our decisions. What stood out most was their attention to detail and personalized service. Our loan officer, Taylor Loop, went above and beyond to secure the best rate possible and guided us through each document and deadline with patience and expertise. Thanks to their hard work, the entire process was smooth, stress-free, and wrapped up the exact day they said it would be. We would absolutely recommend Modern Lending to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and customer-focused mortgage company. They truly made a potentially overwhelming experience feel easy and manageable. We love Modern Lending! read more

Brian Decker, Jon Solek, and Connie Burton were awesome. They made a very complicated and cumbersome process as simple as possible. Another loan company was recommended to me, but when I tried to explain some of my past credit challenges they just stopped calling me back. When I explained things to Jon and Connie, they understood and took the time to listen to me and review all the documentation I provided. I wasn't sure if I would even qualify for a loan and Brian Decker's Team not only qualified me, but provided me some great financing options. The rates they offered were lower than all the online ads from the big banks. John Solek was very responsive to all my inquires about buying points, FHA vs Conventional, 15yr vs 30yr, and paying mortgage interest vs having a larger down payment. I will definitely go to straight to Brian Decker and the Loan Depot team if I need to refinance or if I have a new mortgage in the future. Thanks again for helping my family purchase our new home. read more

We were already preapproved for a loan through our bank, but our realtor expressed concern that the bank would not be responsive enough for us to successfully compete against other potential buyers in today's strong seller's market. They referred us to Modern Lending as a possible alternative. Brian Decker handled our application and gave us multiple loan options to consider based on our financial situation. Modern Lending approved our application within just a couple of days. Once we identified the house we wanted to buy, Brian and his team were very responsive and agreed to a very short escrow. I think that was a key factor that helped our offer be accepted over the several other offers we competed against. After escrow opened, Brian and team processed our loan so quickly that they were ready to fund our loan several days ahead of the already aggressive schedule. I'm very impressed with and highly recommend doing business with Brian Decker and Modern Lending. read more

The Modern Lending Team was amazing. My wife and I were doing a VA loan that we originally started with another lending company (that I will not mention), who totally had us scrambling due to the lack of information that they provided to us at the time we found the property we wanted. Needless to say, I needed to find a Lending company that was willing to be honest and provide us with the information we needed. We found that immediately once we started working with Modern Lending and their team. I worked with Brian Decker who was very informative and supportive in making sure we had everything we needed to get funded. He provided step by step videos on the process and sends out email updates throughout the process so you know exactly where you are. I honestly could go on and on about Modern Lending Team, but I am running out of room. So don't take it from me, if you want your home buying experience to be great, reach out to Modern Lending for Lending needs! read more

I seriously do not know where to begin. Chris Decker, and the entire Modern team is just amazing. As an realtor myself, I have a long list of lenders I trust and have worked with in the past but I just felt like no one could compare....and let me tell you, I am glad I trusted my gut. From the very beginning, the process was simply seamless. There was constant contact, updates before/after each mile stone and just overall great bedside manner! Being super busy, I really enjoy the text updates where I didn't constantly need to be on the phone. The cherry on the top was when getting ready to sign loan docs. There were missing signature lines (ugh). Have no fear, Modern is here! I called Chris, made him aware of the problem and documents were fixed within the HOUR! We still got the chance to sign that night! Even escrow was floored. Grateful for the amazing rate I snagged and truly appreciate all the help and guidance. Look no further then Modern Lending! read more
