Was looking for breweries in the area, and came across this one. So glad we popped in - pizzas are huge and many drinks to choose from! Shoutout to New Haven style pizzas. Ambience is good, staff is so friendly. Big space, lots of seating. Would definitely recommend. Great for large groups. read more

Brewport is a good brewery. It has a menu of a large variety of craft beers and food. Lots of seats at the bar and patio. Has a merchandise area full of hats and shirts that are pretty cool. The beer of course is the main thing. It always seems to be crowded. Location is the worst thing about it. This is literally surrounded by freeways and it can be hard to get to. Brewery is inside what looks like an old garage. This is on the dirty South End of town. I had a Farmer Tupper's Rhubarb Ale. It's $7 for a pint. This is a fruited wheat ale with lots of rhubarb flavor and accents of strawberry. Food looked good so we made sure to get something to eat. The food mainly is pizzas and salads. Not a lot of vegan choices. Only one of the problems, as the food was also expensive. We got the watermelon Italian ice. It's $3.50 for a bowl. This is a nice accompaniment to a beer or after meal treat. Bridgeport isn't nice especially in this area. It has one reason to come here. This brewery gives it a better image and brings some much needed business to an area that needs more visitors. read more

I love this place; delicious beer flights, the pizza is stellar and there's always a great special pizza of the day. Nice out atmosphere, clean, and friendly staff. The only downside is I wish they changed up the beer menu more often, and their specialty cocktails are tasty but a bit watered down on comparison to the price. Beer flights though? Delicious! read more

We are in Connecticut... the pizza capital of the world... Sally's.. Pepe's... modern....bar... roseland... Zuppardi's... blessed with pizza in this state I came here when they first opened. Years ago...it was good!!! In The CT pizza world it worked! . Came back with friends recently.... What happened!!..... A+++++ service, Beer and pizza. It was good before but now.... Look at the pics! Located minutes from the Arena and Amphitheatre you can't go wrong here! Good pizza along with a quality cauliflower pizza and salad! They have a good selection of beer, a great cider for those who can't drink beer and qualify cocktails as well! Comfortable booths, good service and friendly staff as well. First time at this brewery / pizza place. A group of us went before going to a concert close by. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had a salad that really was just very basic tasting. They only have one selection for dressing so that couldn't even help it. I only ate 1/4 of it and took it home to salvage it. My friends had the pizza and devoured it. It looked good and by their actions I'll have to agree. I'll go back and try it and hope for the same response read more

Nestled in the crook of the Route 8 on-ramp is a small restaurant marked on the Connecticut Beer Trail and a short drive away from the hockey rink and concert venue. Brewport, as the name implies, is a brewery, but you'll probably come here for their signature pizzas. What kind of pizza is this? They're definitely New Haven inspired, but not quite full-on Frank Pepe. I love New Haven pizza, but my girlfriend hates it, and we both love Brewport pizza. There's some char, but the bottom crust is thin and floppy. The pizzas are mostly red, almost always with cheese (sorry, New Haven purists; head east), and a large one is plenty to feed two hungry people. Not into pizza? Well, you're in the wrong spot. But, if you're not in the mood or you want to round out your meal, the salads are better than you'd expect -- and big! I came here once for lunch on a weekday and ordered a salad, and that was it for me. The beers aren't really something to write home about, but they're only a taproom; they don't distribute. You won't find a bad beer on their menu, and they obviously pair well with the cuisine. They don't have a good mix of styles, but if you can't find something you like (which is rare), they do have a full bar as well. Much of the seating is in tall booths on the upstairs perimeter of the restaurant, but your server will always find you -- and often. They're good like that. The only thing to note is that they tend to have a limited menu the afternoons and evenings of a big game or concert. Their website will usually warn you (if you can get past the warnings that say Internet Explorer is no longer supported by Microsoft, even if you're on your iPhone), but keep that in mind. read more

Easy to park and was not busy on a Saturday night! We sat at the bar though the place is huge and there were plenty of tables available. Simple pizza and beer place, but the salads also looked good. I wish the draft beer selection was a bit more diverse. The one sour on tap kicked so we couldn't try that, which wasn't a huge deal, just a bit of a bummer. We went with Brewport's Ice Man hard seltzer, which is a combo effort with a local Italian ice shop which is cool. Tasted like a brewery seltzer... if you know you know. Not as great as big brand seltzer, but definitely delicious. Would love to come back with a big group as this would definitely be the perfect place for that. read more

Stopped at Brewport for dinner before the BoyzIIMen concert. Was pleased to be seated so quickly on a busy concert night. The waitress was friendly and attentive. On concert nights the menu is limited for drinks and food. We ordered a large pepperoni, meatball and onion pizza and drinks. Pizza came out within 15 mins. The crust was super thin, pizza was good (don't let the picture fool you, the pizza was not burnt lol). Would go back there again, chill, no fuss vibes. Super close to the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater as well. read more

After the longest time, I finally made it to Brewport before attending a Bridgeport Islanders game. The location is perfect if you are looking for a meal and a drink before a game at Total Mortgage Arena or a show at Hartford Healthcare Ampitheatre as you can easily walk to both from the restaurant. Although it is known for its beers (it's right in the name!), we opted for the homemade root beer because we were not up for day drinking. As a bit of a root beer lover, I have to say that it somewhat underwhelmed. It was not near crisp enough for my taste. That said, the pizza was ON POINT. It a super thin crust bar style. The sauce is perfectly seasoned and applied in just the right measure. They had chicken sausage as an option so we chose that and were glad we did. Very recommended! read more

Brewport is a great spot to grab some good beer and really good pizza. The place is huge and has a great vibe. Everything is industrial looking and is the perfect ambiance for a brewery. I love that breweries now are specializing in good food. Gone are the times where food is an afterthought at a brewery and now food is almost the focal point. Definitely check it out if you are in the area or going to the Amphitheater or Arena before game/Event. read more

Stopped by Brewport for a student social gathering. The server recommended to try the Barrett which so I did. It included Korean bbq pulled pork and kimchi on the side which you can add using a tong. The server was friendly, and the atmosphere and interior were nice. Overall the pizza was good a bit on the smokier and heavier end, but nothing too mind-blowing. I would try the Barrett if you are adventurous or wouldn't mind kimchi since I know it's not for everyone. Very solid. read more

I've always wanted to visit this brewery and I finally did for my birthday. I went with some fam and I must say, I enjoyed it a lot. Pretty nice beer selection. Shockingly, they made good mojitos which really impressed me. Most breweries make awful cocktails so I liked that. The veggie pizza we had was very tasty. Not much cheese on it but someone like me, who is a bit lactose intolerant, it worked. Then for my birthday drink, they made me a spiked Root Beer float which was SSSOOOOO delicious All the alcohol was in the ice cream which was so amazing. It looked massive like it would be too big for me to finish by myself but.......... It was so good that I didn't want to share LOL Such great vibes. Will definitely go back to try more of the food and to most definitely have another Root Beer float read more

We were heading home from another area brewery (no food) and my husband was hungry, we were both very happy we saw this place from 95. We arrived late lunch/early dinner on a Friday so we were concerned about having a wait, gladly this wonderful place is quite big and we found a spot at the bar which is typically our go to for service. The staff is gracious, knowledgeable and fast. The beer is tasty with many to choose from and the pizza is a flavor bomb fired to perfection. Can't wait to return! read more

I am well versed in what New Haven thin crust pizza is, and what we should proudly expect if a restaurant claims they make it. This pizza....no.....not even the slightest. The pizza was good for the first year until they decided to use a tortilla as the crust. The only way to eat it is to roll it up like a burrito. Such a shame. read more

Stopped in just to have a beer and catch up with an old friend. Decided to share a pizza while we were there. The place was empty but the waitress was quick to give us menus and offer some assistance with the huge options of beers. We ordered the sampler and had 4 different beers and we decided to order the meat master-sausage, bacon, pepperoni and ham. Safe to say it was off the hook (that means good). Definitely a cool place to hang out at. The place is big and they have plenty of seating. No doubt I will be back for more beer and pizza. Great spot to go to in Bridgeport, right off the exit and close to the arena and downtown. read more

Very impressed! I love my pizza...& really enjoyed it! Typical thin crust. My friend & I ordered a small sausage pizza & small tossed salad (mixed greens, crumbled walnuts, Gorgonzola & apples). Perfect amount for us! The salad was a decent size as well. Service very pleasant & atmosphere inviting. Ample parking but... Note you can't park here for Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater (they lock gates @ closing & tow). We also got 2 16 oz beers. VERY reasonably priced - only $46. Overall highly recommend. read more

Nice big and airy space. It was a large crowd for the Billy Strings concert in town but they were smooth and polite line managers. It was as hassle-free as I could have imagined. They did not crowd the inside, as we had feared. Plus the beer was good and so was the pizza we chowed on. My daughter was disappointed we got the vegetarian but she was not the one paying! This is a great spot not so far from Bridgeport CT They have a good combination: pizza & beer, with some cider too. I tried some local brewed beer flight with their unique cauliflower pizza. My visit was last winter and ambiance was cozy and warm, locals and foreigners come and gather around the bar, definitively I had a great time and enjoy my visit to this brewery a lot. read more

This is an awesome brewery with a great selection of pizza! I love the thin crispy crust pizza they make. I always order The Barrett which is Korean flavored pork with Kim chi on the side. This is the only place I know that makes this unique flavored pizza and it's amazing. In addition their "small" salads are actually HUGE! This time I got the antipasto salad which was filleddd with salami cubes, ham, cheese, olives, roasted peppers and other veggies. So delicious. I came on a trivia Wednesday night which was a fun side of entertainment with pizza and you get to win prizes, although I didn't win it was still fun. read more

After moving out of CT for 18 months I'm back visiting and the other night we picked up a World Famous Bacon Mashed Potato Brewport pie and WoW!!!! The Pizza is always Amazing and consistent but I must say this was the best I have ever had it. Not sure if it was a combination of me not eating it for a while or the way they perfectly cooked it this time but me and the family all agreed it was Extra Lights Out this time. Of course we will be back for more in the near future. As always I'm am so grateful for the pizza masterpieces Brewport puts out and cant wait to eat there again. You guys are making epic pizza. Not happy at all. Ordered a Caesar salad with chicken, got wet lettuce where was the Caesar?? No clue, with flavorless "chicken" so pale it looked like canned chicken. The Diet Coke I ordered arrived in small cups less than 3/4 of the way filled with flat soda. This place is definitely a no for me. Hate the feeling of being hungry after a long day of work to then have to pay for a terrible meal. :( read more

I recently attended a private party in the side room. the pizza was very tasty, but it is so very thin. I brought some home for my kids and the next day after being in the refrigerator it was curled up on the edges. The restaurant is very large has a good beer selection and has a few wines and cider for the non-beer drinkers. It has good parking and it's pretty easy to get to. the service was good also. read more

Was in a rush to catch the ferry so I sadly could not make it to the New Haven area for a proper CT pie, but ultimately the pictures from this place and convenience drew me in. I opted for the Brewmaster because who the heck doesnt love some Roni', chicken, and peppers? sadly, the pepperoni was inedible. Huge thick circle slabs off what resembles and tastes like it was cut from a commercial meaty tube of dog food brand Pupperoni. The chicken tasted like a cubed / chunky version of the tasteless steamed chicken youd get from chinese takeout. The crust was the only thing that stood out, and it stood out A LOT. Makes me wish I had ordered a standard cheese, or ordered half of it plain, definitely messed up. True new haven style undercarriage slightly overdone paper thin and crispy with those coal marks. It was love at first glance, but it just couldn't hold up. read more

Location good, and ample parking, although, if the lot is full, then come back another time. Great, interesting pizza and salads. Love the lack of TVs...this isn't a sports bar and there are enough of those elsewhere. The one hitch for me is the beer...every draft is way too cold...the European-based recipes for these beers were never designed to be served within an inch of freezing. I struggle too to find a brew that's not too sour or too strong. Used to enjoy the Schluter but that doesn't seem to feature anymore...the Fest beer was ok but not great. I often go to one of the guest beers which kinda defeats the point of a brewery. Like all places these days they don't seem to heat the space....saves money I guess..so dress warmly. read more

Established in 2016.

When the Barrett Brothers came to tell him of this cool old building in Bridgeport that would make a great brewpub he jumped at the chance to make a difference in such a historic brewing city. To this project, Jeff brings tens of thousands of pages of pre-prohibition batch sheets (recipes) from long gone Bridgeport breweries such as Eckert, Hartmann, and the Bridgeport Brewing Co. With these and hundreds of his own recipes he can't wait to bring history from grain to glass again in Bridgeport; marrying the old and the new.

The Brewmaster and Partner, has loved of all things beer since his childhood. He started collecting beer cans in the 70's with Brewport Partner Bruce Barrett and he stuck with it. Quickly he realized the importance of this wondrous liquid and started a lifelong pursuit of knowledge in all things beer!

The taste wasn't great and it was difficult to pick up to eat without all falling apart, so I decided to remove the top piece of "bread" and eat it with a fork and knife. There was 1 piece of eggplant, 1 piece on each sandwich half. One. Eggplant Parm is cooked and then the slices layered, and usually there are at least 3-4 layers, but not this. The eggplant had many seeds in it indicating the eggplant is past its prime-not the freshest -and the seeds add a bitter taste. Not pleasing. Gobs of cheese atop the bread, but no Parmesan detected. The ricotta spinach was an inedible unappetizing mess of stringy cheese and overcooked spinach. The Gramma slice was ok but I would not return for this. The decor is great and the service was fine, but the food was not good and ended up in the garbage! Ugh! On street parking in downtown Bridgeport. I will not be returning nor recommending.

Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA).
