We ordered the Red Lake Ale and Belle Isle (my fan favorite), with the 12oz NY Strip, fried Brussels sprouts, and loaded tots. Food was excellent (and clean)! Steak was cooked to our medium liking. My first time at Brewlando and it was an okay experience - neither bad nor wonderful. I was there with a large group and it looked like the number of servers was limited. Our server was also covering several tables aside from us. So as expected, things moved fairly slowly. I like that we were able to get separate tabs without issue, and I believe that all of our orders came out correct. I ordered the 12oz steak with came with a healthy amount of fries. The steak was decent. At the time that we arrived, we were fortunate for us all to be able to have seat; part of the group sat inside, and part sat outside but later came inside when table space opened up. I was with the original inside group and we were able to have the lone long table that was perfect given the size of our group. I was able to have dinner and conversation with them with no issues hearing those around me (hopefully we weren't too loud for other patrons). It is a casual spot and seems to be good for dining in groups. Probably worth checking out at least once. read more

Brewlando fit our criteria, which required solid Yelp ratings and reviews. Our party of 12 trickled in around 4 pm, and we easily fit around a high table. Cheyenne, our 5 star server, immediately brought us waters, answered questions about the menu options, and took our food and beverage orders. She was helpful, patient, and professional throughout the 1.5 hours we stayed. I started the table with three Giant Bavarian Pretzel appetizers, which were quickly devoured. Also quickly devoured by one of my sons was the 10 wings dish. My wife and I both ordered the Classic Smash Burger and substituted sweet potato fries in place of the regular fries. The burgers were solid, and the ketchup bottle on the table was used for both the burger and the fries. For adult beverages, I enjoyed the Keel Farms Elderberry Cider. Other drinks around the table which were enjoyed included the Strawberry Wheat Hefeweizen and Espresso Martini. The atmosphere is enjoyable, with wood, brick, and garage doors that look out on Independence Lane and the park across the street. Cheyenne handled all the tabs and payments like a pro. Her ability to keep everyone's orders straight was quite a feat, in my opinion. Brewlando purchased the building for the former SBC that stood here. SBC was a failing business due to poor ownership, overpriced food and they couldn't keep the doors open. Staff was amazing at SBC, and it seems like Brewlando retained some of the staff. My issue with Brewlando is they already had an established business, so when we came to check out the old SBC, it was practically the same. Some decor was changed, the menu almost identical. The same fries, the same style and flavor of wings, the same pretzel. While I liked these things at SBC (except the wings because 100% of the time I'd end up on the toilet after...idk why it's only their wings), it was disappointing to get when you think you're getting something new. The only menu that for sure changed was the beer. They got rid of the liquor I suppose, the golden knight beer was excellent. Would've gotten a second beer but he never really checked on us, and half the table didn't get their beers for 20 minutes or so. The place was dead, and it'll likely remain this way. It's hard to be convinced the owners of SBC don't own Brewlando since their mistakes weren't learned from. 2 people cost $90 which I just think will result in the doors closing. read more

As a rule I don't leave bad reviews... anyone can have a bad day but this one was earned. Let's start with the food... frozen, uninspired and pretty bland though not the fault of the kitchen staff who tried to make something out of what they had to work with. The drinks were actually quite good when they had a staff behind the bar who understood mixology. These people had a legit cicerone that was completely underutilized. The bar was just a paint refresh from when they were Sanford Brewing except they didn't bother with new chairs. Lime green chairs to go with the brick red paint on a few walls... you just have to see that to believe it. But the 1 star, and that's only because I cannot give 0 stars, is for the absolutely horrible way these new owners treat the staff. They had legit one of the best service staffs in town and they literally strung them along for months then threw them away, one by one. One of the owner/ management staff had this to say when they reprimanded an employee for helping some regulars who came in because of the staff but was told not to serve them... "they (the regulars) don't have to come here then." Believe this... we won't. Look forward to catching up with the former staff wherever they land. Brewlando Maitland was doing really good until they started getting rid of the people that brought me and my group in. The old management team were wonderful human beings who deserve all the recognition of building the level of community that brewlando managed to buy themselves into. Finding out they got rid of them was astonishing, but they had a chance to keep doing well. Hearing them blatantly talk about how they "should've just cleaned house" and talk about getting rid of more of the old crew who worked their butts off just to keep the place open before brewlando officially bought them is disgusting. The new manager fakes nice all the time. And they're slowly getting rid of all the things that made it a community bar to begin with. I don't think I'll ever come back. Especially knowing that the GM openly talking about getting rid of the rest of the old crew who are the only people that continue to bring in old faces. Honestly that's kind of an insult to gas station food. it's canned cheese, chicken from a bag, sprinkled with maybe some toppings. didn't get a choice of chicken or pork- assumed it came with both since both are listed. Nope apparently it's a choice but we were never asked. The server knew nothing, literally laughed when we asked questions. It wasn't a good experience and definitely won't be back... Why change a good thing? We've been regulars for years, but after our last two visits, we're officially done. The service is abysmal. We had to remind our server three times that we ordered drinks--never got them. Ended up walking to the bar to get them ourselves. It took 45+ minutes for someone to take our food order, and our server straight-up ignored us when we tried to flag her down. The new bartender clearly doesn't know beer--gave us a dark stout when we ordered a sour, then argued with us about it. Anyone with eyes and taste buds could tell it wasn't right. Food took over an hour, and we were the only table in the place. The food quality has plummeted, even though prices are up. They've added overpriced, unnecessary menu items that don't add anything. They do still have trivia, which is about the only thing they've managed not to ruin. But the rest? A mess. The pink-haired server needs retraining. We miss Darwin--he was incredible. Most of the old staff is gone, and at this rate, so are the customers. This place is trying so hard to be something it's not--and failing. Huge disappointment. read more
