Interested in a cup of coffee or tea in a comfortable coffee shop after say, shopping at WF next door and perhaps, buying a nut-free or gluten-free pastry there or, perhaps a piece of fruit? Whatever, Even if you buy a cup of coffee or tea there, DO NOT bring any food into Brewing Market Coffee. An employee will march up to your table and loudly proclaim that, "No outside food is allowed in our coffee shop!" Really? Not even a banana? Or one little gummy bear? "Nothing is allowed." I have never in my life heard of any coffee shop, be it independent or a chain, disallowing a customer to bring in something to eat. Personally, I am allergic to all nuts and Brewing Market Coffee does not sell any pastries which are nut-safe. But again, "No food is allowed in our coffee shop." Don't worry about it, we will never go there again. read more

It was a recent overcast Saturday when I decided to detour from my errands in order to grab a nice, and much needed cup of hot coffee. Always inclined to 'go local', I stopped into Market Coffee in Longmont, where I had been the previous day for the very same reason. My initial visit was quite pleasant, and as a 'newbie', revealed a very nice place for me to tuck into with my laptop. My Saturday visit stood in marked contrast to my experience on the previous day. Before continuing, I should say that my barista on Friday , an unusually bright and perfectly-professional young woman, took nearly five minutes to describe to me the cafe's setting, and the many delights set out for customers to avail themselves of. Again, it was my first time at Brewing Market Coffee, and I was struck by its design, and tasteful choice of goodies to buy. Sadly, and it is not enjoyable to be sharing this, Saturday's official cafe greeting emerged from the mouth of an obnoxious, unprofessional young man, and smacked of a particular neglect for the sensibilities of certain customers. I am a 45 year-old male who lives and copes with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. My disability is non-visible, and typically remains that way unless I am at home alone, and struggling to get through difficult days. On Saturday, following nearly 48 long hours of PTSD-related symptoms, and little outside activity or contact with people, I decided to have my Service Dog [Compliant as per the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and all code revisions enacted subsequent to the bill's passage] accompany me indoors to get my coffee. Upon entering, the young man with not-ironic-anymore glasses leaned his belly over the counter, looked down at my Service Animal, and with a scrunched face sneered 'Yeah, we don't really allow dogs in here man...' My response was 'Yeah you do, because he's a Service Animal', and bent over to point to what should have been evident to someone more concerned with the quality of their optics, than the misperceptions of how they imagine themselves to appear in them. Now, aside from the fact that the Service Animal had a jangling, multi-tag, D.O.T.-REFLECTIVE SERVICE DOG COLLAR' draped around his neck, which is immediately visible to those evolved enough muster one second to THINK before saying or doing something inappropriate [And entirely illegal, as per Civil Rights Protections afforded to People with Disabilities, and the Service Animals who assist them], the barista continued to query me on the Service Animal (!) 'needing' a vest or some identifying marker(s). It was at that point that I began to feel uncomfortable, shake to the extent that I could barely produce cash from my wallet, and basically went into defensive mode (all PTSD-related fear responses), and left the cafe which I had planned to spend the afternoon in, sorting through work materials, and just taking in the quietude. Instead, I returned to my vehicle, obtained a laminated mini-copy of the Federal ADA regulations to show my obviously-ignorant interlocutor, and quietly waited online - again - to offer the card for his careful review. This particular card has a Department of Justice seal featured prominently, and typically slides into my windshield, near the VIN number [this is for Law Enforcement and First Responder personnel, in the event of an accident. A second D.O.T.-emblazoned laminated card always sits adjacent to it, and states 'I am a Service Animal and I must not be separated from my owner unless I have sustained serious bodily injury requiring the attention of a veterinarian'] The barista gave it a cursory glance, and retorted with a very short smattering of sarcastic responses, and said 'Sorry man. Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers.' Being initially called 'man' by an ignorant, non ADA-compliant hipster was not what infuriated me the most. What served as the catalyst for this complaint was when the sarcastic tone did not morph into something more deferential like an apology. Instead, my bloated, non-ironic hipster barista called me 'man' for the third time, and said 'I'll have to keep that in mind man ... ... ...' If ever a more vacuous utterance emerged between fluctuating whiffs of freshly-ground coffee (!) My emphatic suggestion to the ownership and senior management of the cafe, is to immediately hold a quick coffee sit-down with its staffers, and school them on the Americans with Disabilities Act, precisely how it relates to Service Animals, and particularly those who rely upon them to function at myriad levels. Sans such an education, this will happen again to another unfortunate soul, though not me as I will not be returning. Moreover, may I suggest that greater selectivity be exercised when hiring, thereby screening-out obviously weak links in customer service (in advance), Michael R. & 'Hunter' the Service K9 read more

This place serves wonderful full body coffee with style! Lovely atmosphere and great staff! Yummy

Clean, cool (in the summer), and free wi-fi...that's about everything I need in a coffee shop. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't comment on the quality of their brew. They have a nice selection of teas though. They are also conveniently situated next to Wild Oats, Art Cleaners, and a liquor store in case you need to pick up a few things before heading home. read more

Coffee - CHECK +5 stars I've never had bad coffee here. If anything it's great coffee. Music - TOLERABLE 0 star Yes occasionally horrible jazz. I build shrines in my mind to the perfection of awfulness that is the jazz at this place - so I just laugh and keep doing my work. But they made up for it today with classical. :) Nobody is ever going to complain that classical music is distracting when they are trying to do work. And just look at all these people here staring at their laptops working away. Table - WOBBLY -1 stars Come on. You want me to check all the tables for you? I'll tell you - at least EVERY SINGLE TIME I CAN REMEMBER I have spilled coffee due to the consistently wobbly tables distributed through-out this place. And I'm a regular. Now I think it's almost exclusively classical here - so I get to eat my words! But really what drives this update is the crowd and the staff which I didn't give due credit too. Regardless of any other details or nitpicks... what it all boils down to is this is a place where good people get together (and they would anyways even if the coffee wasn't so great). I've heard some of the most uplifting and inspiring conversations right here in this cafe - and that is what should not be overlooked, and why this place deserves 5 stars. After a great service today, I felt the need to write a Yelp about how wonderful this place is. I come here fairly often for a reason. Place is always packed but I still manage to find a table to sit at. I notice a different number of activities here: studying for classes, meeting for group projects, working on computers and papers, conversing with old friends, tutoring, and even watching Netflix to relax after a long day. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. They always ask me how I'm doing and would ask me about little things that I've mentioned in the past. The staff makes me feel welcome which is one of the major reasons why I prefer Brewing Market at Baseline over other coffee locations. When it comes to coffee I usually order lattes to distinguish between coffee shop preferences. I typically order a vanilla latte and it is great! The latte is not overwhelming in sweetness (which I've encountered at other coffee shops). I love the taste of it and always finish my drink every time I'm here. Sometimes when I'm not in the mood for coffee, I will order their smoothie or teas. I love the variety that is offered here for this reason because honestly, I don't always need caffeine in my body! The tea is great and I love the variety that is offered here. Lastly, the location is convenient. I love how it is right by Whole Foods and Noodles and Company. I stop by at these locations to grab food but I always wind up back at Brewing Market. Great place, I would highly recommend it to anybody who is a curious visitor or coffee enthusiast :) read more

My favorite coffee shop in boulder. I've been going once or twice a week since I found it (only a month ago). Here's why I like it- the baristas aren't stressed out of their minds. When others are stressed, I get stressed. These baristas- no matter how long the line was- were genuinely calm yet efficient. So impressed. They play classical music which is soothing. There is a lot of light. People aren't gossiping everywhere. It is so calming!! Most coffee shops stress me out, but I love coming here because it does the opposite. It makes me more ready for my day for sure. One thing- I have only gotten the chais ... I like the green chai, but others I've tried are good too. I don't drink coffee... The service is mediocre and the drink isn't made with much care or effort. They have store naught tea bags and when I ordered an Italian soda, the syrup was stale and it wasn't carbonated nearly enough. My friends and I had gone to a restaurant for food before hand and one didn't buy a drink from the brewing market, the attendee then proceeded to tell him that he would kick us all out if he didn't put it away even though the rest of us had payed, Starbucks is a better bang for your buck. read more

The coffee is probably the best in town, and I've tried almost all coffee shops. BUT: the loyalty card is a worthless joke, you get 1 point for one dollar spent, 1%. So it takes spending $250, to get one free $2.50 cup of coffee. It's not worth it to cart around the card. You don't earn loyalty with that math. read more

Do you want rice milk, soy milk, vanilla milk or hemp milk with that? Wow. So very Boulder of you. I really enjoyed this coffee shop mostly for its atmosphere. There is plenty of outdoor seating with beautiful views of the Flat Irons. Next door is a hardware store and there is a good chance you could be sitting next to all the seasonal blooms! The coffee was decent, not extraordinary, but passable. Brewing Market is also a coffee supply store-mugs, machines, tea pots etc-it's worth a visit. read more

There has been a turnover of baristas at this brewing market and the people working there now are some of the friendliest in town. My husband and I go there 5-7 mornings a week and we are always greeted with a smile and great coffee. I order a very custom drink, and don't even need to say anything when I walk in My husband and I are big coffee drinkers, and this is our favorite coffee shop in town. I wish they had more fresh food choices to go with the great cofee. read more

The Brewing Market is seriously my favorite coffee shop. The coffee is better than any place around, the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming with friendly staff (such as nathan and amy) and the prices are really good. I even go out of my way to drive to this place because their quality is unmatched. Even if you just want to try it, get a simple small cup of coffee and you'll notice a difference. First off let me say I've been coming here for over 5 years. Staff has changed a few times since and always replaced by smiling, attentive, welcoming workers. How they do this with people who would kill without their coffee or kill while on it amazes me. This business keeps up with all the other foo foo coffee houses in town adding simplicity to good cup of joe without the price tag. Great service, clean, good product. The shop is just off the path enough to not be by the road. The spot has comfortable outdoor wicker chairs, which is rare enough in coffee places--the outdoor places usually being filled with sad metal contraptions they like to call chairs. The interior was adequately populated with large amount of seating, enough to host your next gathering of quilter united (if that's a thing and if you're into that). I wouldn't say there's anything super unique about this place--it's got the same general earth-tone color scheme we all know and love, and the friendly if not eccentric baristas. I visited Brewing Market on Baseline for the first time early Saturday morning(shortly after opening). The barista was knowledgable and suggested coffee beans, which turned out to be an excellent cup of coffee at home. He had a short line of customers but took the time to explain the difference of flavor in different roasts of beans. He made my wife a Mocha. She said it was the best she's had lately. Being a new resident in Boulder. We are happy to have found a new favorite coffee stop! read more

It seems like some of the other reviews here might be kind of out of date, since the baristas/counter help I've met at this Brewing Market have all been friendly, and actually started calling me by name after I'd been going there for more than the first month. The coffee here is the best I've had in Boulder (I don't drink tea, but I've heard they do a really great job on that as well). It's pretty cool that almost every table has power to plug in phones, pads and laptops. I'm pretty spoiled on baked goods, since I work right next to a bakery, so it's not exactly fair to compare, but the bagel I have here every morning is always fresh, and the breakfast burritos are very tasty, if a bit on the spicy side. In general the place is always clean, and they have the most amazing selection of chocolates (which I have been carefully trying to avoid ;-). read more

I used to live in Boulder for awhile, and this place was always one of the best places to get coffee... if you are willing to face the unfriendly staff and risk getting your order screwed up. Unfortunately, these are the two reasons I wouldn't go here. They have the best espresso and coffee from which I have encountered and that is worth it. Rude staff. Manager stated that service dogs are not allowed because the food and Drug Administration prohibits it. It's not very smart to make up regulations that don't exist when running a coffee shop across the street from a law school. I'm going blind and I didn't need this nonsense about my guide dog today. Generally is a nice, quiet place to study. The white chocolate iced chai was very good, as was the pineapple iced tea (something I haven't seen elsewhere). I've gotten an horchata latte twice; the first time lasted great, but the second time didn't seem to have any horchata in it at all. The staff are friendly even if the service can be slow. I live right next to this coffee shop and walked in one day just to try it out and I haven't looked back since. The coffee is fantastic and the staff is absolutely wonderful! I'm greeted coming in and out of the door and we know each other on a first name basis. The back room has a fire place and they play classical music which is wonderful to study to.
