I give this a place 3 stars because it was ok. I popped in while on Pearl Street and saw this off the main street and decided to go in for something warm since it was cold and windy that day. I opted for a hot chocolate since it was late. The service was very nice and friendly and the cafe part is very cute. Love the fireplace. It would be a great spot to sit and get some work done or come with others. The hot chocolate itself was underwhelming and watery. It tasted like they put swiss miss in some milk. It was okay and was nice and hot to battle the cold I was feeling but I would maybe try another place for hot chocolate. Maybe I would go back because the vibe was very nice but was not too impressed. read more

This is an awesome little restful haven just a few steps from the hustle and bustle that is Pearl Street. There's outdoor seating as well as a handful of tables inside. There's also a restroom which is super convenient if you like to hang out here. I personally enjoy this space for casual meetings. Hot drinks, cold drinks, special delicious teas and loads of different snacks - some packaged and some fresh. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and always take great care with making my beverages. I'll be sure to keep returning here :) Oh and their frequent visitor card is now digital, just hook up your phone number and you can check in and get points right at the register. read more

I walked over to look at the baristas for help, but they were too busy chatting with each other to help or acknowledge a customer. Ordered Pain Suisse. Cashier says would be delivered at our tables. Takes 15 seconds to heat up. Asks after 10 mts if it was delivered and I said no. Says sorry I forgot (3 customers in the shop and 3 staff members). Puts it on the counter and never brought it to our tables. We spotted it and got it ourselves. Wasn't hot but tasted good. In short, awful service. No greetings or smiles. This place could do a lot better with a little warm and friendly staff. read more

Wonderfully cute, quaint place here in Boulder, CO. It has a little bit of seating inside and a couple of tables outside to sit. I ordered a 20 oz Latte with coconut milk along with an oatmeal raisin cookie. It's delicious! I definitely see myself coming back when I'm in Boulder again and have some time to sit down. read more

I come here almost every day (very convenient location) and there's so much to like about it! Super wonderful staff, good coffee and tasty, tasty baked goods (perhaps too tasty in fact considering how much I eat them). Various forms of delicious croissants (almond, chocolate), cinnamon swirls, bagels, and other yummies like the new cream cheese swirled chocolate muffins (please come eat them before I feel like I have to go back down there lol). not sure why this place got such terrible reviews. I'm not from the area, but a friend of mine is and I went to visit her for about a week. While there we wandered around boulder and stopped by this coffee shop to warm up and wake up. There was a very nice guy working behind the counter, super sweet and attentive. I ordered an Americano, my friend a cafe mocha, and my other friend a hot cider. All of which were very yummy. Hot and delicious! the cafe mocha was AWESOME and he even took the time to put a little design on the top of the foam. loved it and would def. swing through here again! read more

I've hit Brewing Market several days in a row now since my coffeemaker at home is on the fritz, and I haven't been disappointed. Brewing Market is near my office, and there is never a hassle to get some caffeine. Even though this place is tiny and fills up easily with a line, they always get drinks out in a hurry and clear the line quickly. I just get regular coffee, and while the coffee is nothing to write home about, it hits the spot flavor-wise as well as get my ass in gear-wise. Coffee here is extremely good. I definitely vouch for the horchata latte and the cafe au lait is superb! I found it strange that there was only one employee working on a Sunday afternoon. You would be wise to ignore the stale reviews from years ago regarding this particular Brewing Market. They are no longer relevant. There is a new manager and of course, new barista(s). (However, the Brewing Market on Baseline is one of the worst coffee shops we have ever been in. You will be admonished by a barista if they see you eating something that you did not buy there. Even a candy bar!!!) Though we will concede that their coffees are not better than Conscientious Coffees (The Cup), Kaladi Bros., Novo Coffees or even Peets, their espresso is comparable to most and even better than Ozos', in our opinion. Also, they sell the gluten-free Outrageous Bakery products, and their slices are bigger than what both Ozo or Alfalfa's sell and, cost less. Check them out. We are glad we did and we go there often. read more

Just ok. The coffee is pretty expensive and not very good. Tastes kind of like dirt. They have some cool flavors but that is about it. I'm from Seattle so I'm kind of a coffee snob but I've tried this place a couple of times and I'm always disappointed. There are better places to get a coffee in Boulder for a similar price. We get all of our whole bean coffee from them to drink at home, and try to go to one of their 3 or 4 locations in Boulder whenever we have a hankering for an espresso drink. Stale and burnt coffee combined with rude, even hostile service make this the last place on Pearl Street you should ever go for coffee. Rules for the Coffee Nazis: 1) If they recognize someone as a regular, he or she will be served next regardless of how long others have waited in line. I think you can become a regular by donating 20 or more krugerands to their widows and orphans fund, but it's unclear. 2) They have bagels and muffins, but don't order one as you'll provoke a hysteria of confusion. 3) Are you a regular? I'm not sure I want to speak to you... Well, I guess if there's no one cool here I recognize, I can unsmilingly take...your...order. 4) Eek, it's the two grim guys working there. If I order wrong, they look like they might start a fight. 5) Sigh, it's the two bespectacled girls working there. Here comes the attitude and the chunky, burnt coffee. I've worked next door for a year now and have made over fifty visits, so this isn't a one-off opinion. Brewing Market is a nice little local coffee shop. This location is tiny tiny, but since it's close to my work I'll head over there for a treat sometimes. I don't know much about their coffee (never touch the stuff really), but their hot cocoa is ghirardelli, which is awesome, and they can make it with non-fat milk (a+!) I rate this place way higher than I would any Starbucks. The staff is friendly, too! Since I don't go here too often, I'd say it's just OK by me. I'd recommend it to someone who likes coffee shops, though, but maybe check out the Baseline location because it's WAY larger inside. read more

Terrible. Terrible I say! This place is one block from where I work. About 6 months ago I decided to grab a mocha. I remember it being pretty bad and service, not so great. When a customer walks into your shop, you should really great them with a smile, instead of making them feel like they aren't wanted. But yet, I gave it a try. Let it be known, my one star rating is not related to service, however it is related to the quality of the product. Well, 6 months have gone by and I was walking past Brewing Mkt and thought I'd give it another try. Maybe the first time I was there they were having a bad day and maybe the barista didn't know what she was doing. Maybe... just maybe. Well, that maybe turned into a big fat, no way, never again. Once again, service = poor. People, care that you have a customer!!! Please. I ordered a cappuccino. This could be one of the worst cappuccinos I've ever tasted. Extremely bitter, so much so, I didn't even finish it. Lesson learned.... next time, I'll walk the extra 2 blocks to OZO. read more

I witnessed a barista closing the shop without notice with a line of 20 people waiting in the store on the evening of the Boulder Xmas Lights Parade. How are these guys in business? I got served a small coffee after paying for a medium but could not complain with all the mob around me who were rightfully pissed off beyond belief. Good coffee and attentive friendly staff. They always have two roasts of brewed coffee which I appreciate. I come here 2-3 times a week and cycle between espresso and brewed coffee so I can attest that quality is excellent and consistent. Didn't receive a warm welcoming as you expect in the morning as you step in to a Starbucks to get your coffee but as far as my the espresso cortado it was what I was expecting as far as a strong flavor coffee. I've been buying here for many years and wish they hadn't changed staff recently. This morning I waited in the drink line to ask for bulk coffee. I paid for the coffee and went over to the bulk area to wait for someone to get free to grind my coffee. A man comes over, behind me in line, and when the barista came over she started to wait on him first. I made myself noticeable, and she asked if I minded if she waited on him first. Huh? So in addition to not noticing me, she now puts me on the spot. Lesson to this woman, the thing to do when you noticed me was to ask the gentleman if he minded if you waited on me first, since I had been waiting. I think everyone would have been happy. There should be some kind of Yelp filter available where you can screen out the 1-timer customers who come in from Denver or somewhere and are used to only some good ole Starbucks brew and a McDonalds smile as they are whisked through line and sent on their way with a pumpkin scone and marginal brew. I've been going to this haunt for years, almost every day and it is consistently near perfect on the product, friendliness and speed. The baristas know you, your name & how you like it. They seem exceptionally intelligent and witty as there is always some kind of discussion to chime in on - or just grab the goods and go. There's tons of good espresso/brew shops in Boulder and my 2 favorite pulls are this place (right near my office) or Vic's... you learn to appreciate experienced baristas who are more interested in a great product and service than attitude and poor latte art. There's a Brew Market near my home on the Hill but it is not near as good and loaded with students. Brew Market on 13th ROCKS!!! read more

I visit this shop when I'm downtown once in awhile, and I've always received a warm greeting and great service. They know their coffee and tea, and they're happy to recommend something or make a special order upon request. The negative reviews look to be quite old, not sure why Yelp is still displaying them. The only negative comment I have is that it's small and can feel crowded even when there aren't many people there, just because of the size. All in all, a great coffee shop. read more
