Perfect neighborhood spot with a rustic atmosphere-good date place to sit awhile with a few drinks and chat for awhile. Have come here for happy hour (4-6pm M-SAT, 11pm-1AM M-TH), but also love to come here for a chill night. Parking is tight, but if you come later at night usually can always find a spot in their lot. Service is also always very friendly. Huge selection of rotating craft beers from all over- my boyfriend is a huge beer fan and is always picking out new ones on their menu. I'm more of a cocktail fan, so I love to get the beergarita ($6 during happy hour) or the half a weizen (also $6 during happy hour)- which is my favorite, kind of like an orange soda, very light and refreshing! My BF and I love this place and come here at least twice a month. The staff are excellent, friendly, and thoughtful. It's the kind of place where they remember your regular drink and will ask you if you want your refill before you are down to the last quarter of your glass. Little to no wait for food compared to other places. My ONLY COMPLAINT: what the heck happened to the Buffalo Fried Deviled Eggs?!?!?! We got it every time. I still ask if they have it every time we come...and now I salt the rim of my cocktail glass in tears of disappointment. At least the Swedish fish in the Ala Wai cocktail will give me comfort. Definitely far surpassed my expectations. The drinks list is impressive and rotates almost daily (it appears). I was able to sample both European and Pacific NW beers and have a massive, delicious burger for a really reasonable price. The staff are great, quick with the orders and friendly when you need suggestions on the beers. They have a ton of beers on tap and the menu, I'm told, rotates so that if you come back several nights, you may not find the same thing twice on drought. The atmosphere is good too, lots of chalk boards and decor all around. The place doesn't get too loud either, so you can hold a decent conversation. Bathrooms are clean and well-stocked and the floors are clear. Bonus points for catering some drinks (cocktails, wines, spirits) to the non-beer crowd which means nobody will be unhappy! read more

Like going there...but think we were the only locals. On a Wednesday night, easily found street parking. Happy about that since now always easy around there. Friends got there before us so got a table. I really like the shimeji tempura...especially when it's cold. I'm just weird like that I guess. The prime rib is tasty. They advertise a happy hour on select food items, however the pricing and size of these items makes them actually more expensive then regular menu prices. This approach to selling products to customers shows how little BREW'd Craft Pub thinks of their customers. Brought a big group on a Friday night. Made reservations by email for 8 people. Although the place isn't that big, we had no problem finding seats. Staff was very friendly, attentive, quick service. Another huge bonus is they let us do separate checks. I heard they end up getting more tip that way than 1 check and mandatory 18% tip. I can't stress how much this matters to me, as an organizer of a meetup group. We had the Fries and man it was the best I ever had. I think it was fried in duck or bacon fat. It had herbs, aioli (fancy mayo), and peppers. You did not need ketchup. They went really well with the beer. I wish we stayed there longer as the next 2 bars we went to were not as good overall. We did a pub crawl as we do on a regular basis with abot 16-25 people. We found free street parking 1 block away. Watch out for the one way streets. I had dinner with a friend this evening and we had a great time catching up over drinks and delicious food! We arrived early for our reservation and were welcomed by the staff. We anticipated waiting, but they were able to seat us early. Our waiter was very friendly and entertained our excessive questions about the cool hand drawn wall art and his favorite menu items. You can tell he enjoyed working at Brew'd, and that always translates to better service! He did not disappoint and went above and beyond. :) We started with drinks, Brussels spouts and cauliflower at the recommendation of our server. We also shared the prime rib melt special. All of our food came out surprisingly fast, despite being dinner rush on a Saturday night. All three dishes were INCREDIBLE. We fought over the last of the cauliflower, and the only thing that prevented me from licking the Brussels spouts plate was my embarrassed friend. The special prime melt sandwich was better than I expected, the bacon onion jam gave the perfect amount of sweetness. The portions were good sized- perfect for sharing, and honestly we could have stopped there and been satisfied but there were still more things we wanted to try. We considered the hummus and fried pickles but ultimately opted for the goat cheese spread. It was perfectly creamy, and my friend that doesn't usually like goat cheese raved. So at this point we were absolutely stuffed and decided to take Mac and cheese with brisket to go. But before we called quits our waiter mentioned bread pudding and we were sold. I typically don't like bread pudding because of the soggy texture, but this bread pudding was amazing. The home stout ice cream was a perfect pairing and a great way to finish our meal. The bartender was very friendly and made sure his bar was taken care of. Last but not least the music was fantastic. Excellent, friendly service. Excellent variety of beer, seltzers , cider. Ok food. Solid covid protocols. Stopped by on a Saturday, got our temps checked and were seated right away. QR code menus which I appreciated and an interesting mix of beers from all over and in a variety of styles. You can do a large pour or a flight of whatever you want. If it wasn't COVID times and we were gonna linger, there was at least two flights of delicious sounding beers that I'd try. From the menu, we got the brussels and brisket poutine. Brussels were pretty tasty with parm and a caesar style sauce. Could've used a good flash fry at the end to create more texture and another layer of flavor. The poutine was a great concept but kind of a bummer. Gravy was thin and sank below all the other components. Brisket was tough, grey cubes of meat. Not sure what their method is, but I'd switch it up and either smoke it or sous vide the meat until ultra tender. Otherwise, this is a great local escape from the tourist joints. Big patio, too but it was too damn hot for that. Ample parking behind the place and on the street. We'll be back to hang a little longer on the patio and see if there are better options on the menu. read more

For a place that I thoroughly enjoyed, this review is going to be rather short compared to what I would typically write. However, it's not easy to say a ton about BREW'd when all we did here was throw back a few rounds before calling it a night. Not that I'm complaining, mind you - throwing back a few rounds is exactly what we were looking to do! Although we ended up at BREW'd primarily because it's close to where my buddy and his wife live, I gladly would've gone out of my way to come here after checking out their menu. Seriously, the beer list is impressive - 100+ beers on their full rotation (both tapped and bottled) from breweries around Hawaii, on the mainland, and beyond. Sadly, I can't recall each variety that I tried, but I do specifically remember the Honolulu BeerWorks Kewalo Cream - really light, super refreshing, and delicious to drink! As far as the food menu goes, we didn't order anything, nor did the folks around us (they were either done or doing drinks like us), but most of what they have to offer on the menu sounded great. In particular, the slate of apps looked really good, like their Filthy Fries, Coconut Curry Hummus, and Fried Deviled Eggs. If we weren't stuffed from dinner and the beers, I'm sure we would've tried at least one of those dishes! Between the dope beer selection, as well as the enticing food menu, I'd definitely come back for a bite and/or drinks the next time I'm in town and visiting my friends. Parking didn't seem terribly hard when we dropped in, it's a short (and cheap) Uber/Lyft ride back to Waikiki, and the prices are actually really fair (or I'm just jaded from the Bay Area and Waikiki). Super chill spot to hang out and grab a couple of beers. They were busy at 8:30 on a Friday, but there were a few seats available at the bar and at the tables. They also had some outside seating available. There are up to 20 beers on draft (a few taps were empty the night I went), but they surprisingly didn't have that many Hawaiian beers to choose from. However, they have a long list of cans and bottles available. They also serve food here and prices seemed reasonable. Each night also has a theme and discounts. BREW'd is located in Kaimuki, right across the street from Town. I found myself here on several occasions over the last month or so. I think it's a nice, chill place to have a few beers, especially if you like IPAs- most of the beers they have on draft tend to be IPAs. Last night, I also had the opportunity to try the food as well, which was just okay. It was overpriced for the amount you get. We had the gyro sliders, Mac and cheese, and the poutine. The gyro sliders were probably my favorite of the three but weren't overly amazing at the same time. The Mac and cheese was fine, but I don't think there was enough of a cheese flavor. The poutine was probably most disappointing of the three, thick cut fries with gravy, beef brisket, cheese curds, and an "over easy egg" - it wasn't actually over easy lol.. and the gravy just made the fries super soggy. Overall I don't think I would suggest BREW'd but wouldn't mind going if someone decides to go there... just no food next time for me. read more

I really wanted to give four stars because I've become an old grump and was really bothered by the loud metal music being blasted in an already loud space... I mean, it was a Tuesday night! Anyways, the food was so good it made up for the lost "star". The Mediterranean burger has so many flavors going on it's the definition of a mouthgasm. It's a must order. I'm such a dork! All this time I thought this was a coffee place! Thanks, Kathy H., for enlightening me. Haha! BREW'd is located at the corner of Waialae Ave. and 9th Ave. in Kaimuki. Kathy lucked out and found parking on the street and I parked in the lot in the back. It's not that big inside but I like it. We opted to sit at the bar which was a great idea because the awesome bartenders kept those taps running and our glasses filled through the night! As for eats, we got an order of Spicy Fire Pickles which are locally made pickles with ghost chili peppers. Hot! Really hottt! But very good and I would get it again! Then we got the half pound Koji Aged New York Burger. It was pretty dang tasty with that havarti bacon jam smeared on it. Next time I go back I'll sample more beers and get a flight. This is my third visit to Brew'd and I liked it the last two times I came in. Pretty much every bit of this experience was awful. The FOH staff was nice but that's pretty much it. After we put in our order (we ordered a hamburger, fish and chips, and a ribeye) one of our three dishes (fish and chips) showed up about five minutes later. We thought it was strange but you can't complain about food coming quickly! The issue was that none of the other dishes showed up until about 10 minutes later (a hamburger) and with it was a duplicate order of the fish and chips. So we realized that they delivered the wrong plate of fish and chips to our table, which is why it came so quickly and way earlier than anything else. After 5-10 more minutes, the last dish finally showed up (a $49 ribeye steak). The fish and chips were delivered cold, the hamburger was incredibly undercooked, and the ribeye was the toughest $49 steak I've ever had. On all of our plates, the French fries were also really bad. The person who ordered the fish and chips also had to ask for vinegar and ketchup on multiple occasions before it ever showed up. All three of us work/have worked in the service industry for years, so we didn't have the heart to send back all three dishes, but we should have. However, the burger was not edible. Ground beef should never be served that raw, so we sent that back. By that time, the person who ordered the burger didn't even want to bother, so he left the restaurant hungry. With a tip, this meal and one round of drinks for three people cost around $170, even after the burger was taken off. If this is what is to be expected when dining here, we will not be returning. Believe it or not, there are some alcoholic beverages that I don't really care for. Beer is one of them. The beers were surprisingly good and full of flavors. If I come back, it'll be for the beers and not to eat. This place is conveniently located in Kaimuki off of Waialae Ave. Parking is mainly metered parking or residential street parking. We got very lucky and got a stall right in front of the pub. When you walk in, you can choose to sit at a table on the left of the pub or sit at the bar on the right. We chose to sit at the bar because they were playing the game on the TV. I thought it would be a dive bar but it's very clean and upscale looking for a pub. Bartender was very friendly and checked on us frequently. He had a good knowledge of the beers and menu items. The items we ordered were: Green Eggs and Ham - Even though it had some bacon, the flavor didn't really come through. It's a very creative dish and presentation wasn't bad. Overall this was about average (2.5 stars). Pork Belly Taco - Pork belly is always good and it wasn't bad here. The flavors were average and the sauce wasn't that great which made the dish a disappointment (2.5 stars) Home-Made Chicken Pot Pie - The dough on top was good and you could taste the butter which gave it a little bit of flavor. Filling was a little dry and bland. I would not order this again (2 stars). Shrimp and Grits - This dish had flavor to it and presentation was spot on. Too bad the shrimp was not peeled. It would have been better if it was peeled with just the head on it (2.5 stars). Beers - I don't remember the names of the beers we ordered but they were all very flavorful. It was a pleasant surprise especially with the food being just meh. It was great that they had beers with higher alcohol content and in all different flavors. Overall it was an average experience here. If you like or love beer then this is a place you should check out when you're in Kaimuki. It has fair pricing for good quality beers. Cheers! read more

I've just recently been to Real for the first time and really liked it so was excited to check out Brew'd. I liked the ambiance and the decor of the restaurant and although I'm not a beer drinker, I really liked my beer cocktail, the Halfaweizen which has hefeweizen and orange juice. And being that I got it at the happy hour price made it even better. :D We tried a variety of tapas, but for me the highlights were the fish sliders and the meatloaf sliders. I was sad that they didn't offer waffles as they do at Real. Those are delicious! Dessert choices are limited to Guinness or Root Beer floats, a bacon cheesecake and a beer-tiramisu. Parking is limited in the lot behind the restaurant. And it is a pub so no first dates. It can get loud in there! read more

BREW'd is awesome! Not a huge fan of gastropubs but I kind of fell in love with this place. Although there is a wait (sometimes as long as an hour), when I came here later in the evening around 11, it was much less crowded. I'm not exactly a beer person and really know nothing about beer but I do love the gluten-free selection of beers. I forget the name of it, but it's $26 a bottle (a bit pricey) sparkling beer which is good to share between 2 people. It's actually a beer that I like and can drink! Best part it's gluten-free! I haven't tried a whole bunch of things, but the ones that I did try were really good. The truffle dungeness crab deviled eggs were perfect to snack on. Fish sliders were also really good. Oyster shooters had a very fishy smell, but so yummy! What I also like about this place is the great customer service and how helpful they all are. This is my go to spot on the weekends! read more

Came here at 8:30 on a Tuesday night. Parking was super easy. They have a bunch of spaces in the back. This was the third Tuesday of the month, so they had their night brunch. I got the house made doughnuts off of the special menu. They had a chocolate and belching beaver peanut butter latte glaze, vanilla gelato, and house whipped cream. It tasted like fried ice cream. Super good. Our table shared several other things, including french fries, and tiny little pieces of naan with two different kinds of dip. The fries were really tasty and had little bacon bits. We liked the dips so much, that we got extra bread to go with them. Service was great. The waitresses were really nice, informative, replenished our water and cleared our empty dishes. We never felt rushed. I agree with other reviewers who say that this place isn't too loud. I didn't even really notice the other people in the pub. I would come here again for the night brunch.
