My favorite place to grab coffee on main! The indoor seating they have is great- but their outdoor space is even better and Covid friendly!

I've got to say that this is one of my go to coffee shops in town even now that I graduated from UD. When I was an undergrad I used to come here at least 3x a week and every day if it was finals week because it was my favorite place to study at. I've had so many different items from their menu from coffee to sandwiches to baked goods and not once have I been disappointed. My favorite coffee has always been their Cafe Cubano. One word: delicious! I get it every time I'm there. As for sandwiches, I usually get the pike creek which is a chicken salad on either bread or a tortilla wrap. It's so good and it's reasonably priced (I believe it's under 7 bucks and a big portion). I also like the fact that it's pretty spacious and they have couches! As for the customer service, it is pretty good as most of the baristas are friendly. Great place to go to for some coffee or a bite to eat ^.^ read more

The drip coffee is pretty blah and the tea has annoying synthetic teabags that flavor the tea a nice nylon/polyester blend reminiscent of my uncle Charlie's prom suit (Central Perk has subscribed to this tea as well). The baristas (baristos?) are perky and friendly, the music is quiet or nonexistant and the atmosphere is cute and cozy. When the university is in session, the place tends to be overrun by undergrads blabbing in their imitation Paris Hilton accents so don't think you'll get any real work done there. read more

I'm a huge supporter of small businesses. Though this is becoming more of a "local chain", I feel like it still has a "mom and pop" feel. I have always had impeccable service every time I have ordered something here and their chai tea is amazing. :) Their barista are also quite helpful and will be more than willing to offer advice as to what you should order or help you figure out what you want when you are debating between a couple drinks. Their food items have always been fresh when I have gotten them on the rare occasion as well. I don't often stay to enjoy my drink, but in the summertime, I do like to sit on the back balcony in the shade and just enjoy the weather. read more

from old photos of this place...its furnishings were a lot more standard...it's now been replaced by more boho shabby chic decor. This is a nifty coffee shop on the second floor of a building that has a deck with tables outside that overlooks university of delaware campus. I've found myself working here on a couple of fridays. It can get quite crowded. outlets are scarce (only near a couple of small tables located near/toward the bathrooms). Hubs likes that they do pour overs. I like their chocolate crossiants and cider. We also like that casually dressed college students greatly outnumber well dressed business men here. read more

I've loved brew ha ha ever since I was a student and love coming here to study. However, during nice days they open the doors to let the breeze in, which feels nice until other people start smoking on the porch and the smoke blows into the store. It really ruins everyone's experience inside. Either keep the doors closed or don't allow smoking on the porch while the doors are open. read more

Sometime in the late summer, Brew Ha Ha began using their own beans for cappuccino, Cafe Americano etc, and it really went downhill for me. Their house bean has an unsophisticated chicory aftertaste that's like Dunkin, and I miss their previous beans. They still have great salads and sandwiches, but given their name, I'd say there are better cups of Joe to be had (not many in Newark, DE though). read more

Great atmosphere, friendly employees, all kinds of good coffee ranging from the basics to signature flavored lattes that I am told are delicious. Has a very indie-coffee feel despite being a small local chain. read more

Only been a few times but it's been a great experience every time. Nice employees, good food and coffee, clean bathrooms, lots of seating, and plenty of outlets. read more

This place is super cute, friendly and comfortable to drink your morning coffee. The coffee is so good but I feel like they should have more verity. My complaint is that they are very slow. It takes a lot of time to get your coffee and it's definitely not a quick stop. Good coffee, long wait time. read more

I like the atmosphere here, it's very cozy. There's seating indoors and outdoors, with couches and small tables. The food was not very good for me. I had a Brandywine Valley wrap. It was very tiny for an $8 wrap. There was supposed to be "mango chutney" on it, but the mango flavor was so overpowering and the entire thing tasted like canned mangos. There were giant pieces of what tasted like mangos in syrup throughout the whole sandwich. I also got the Thai iced coffee (?) I think it was called. I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't really how she described to me. It was basically a cup of coffee flavored cream. Couldn't finish that either. I'm sticking to regular coffee and pastries from now on. read more

Really consistently delicious coffee here! Definitely one of the best places around this area. The food is good as well, a touch pricey, but delicious nonetheless. read more

My husband and I are visiting family here in Newark,De I wanted my daily coffee and breakfast from a place where I could get both. Most coffee shops don't offer good breakfast and most breakfast places don't offer good coffee. Well Brew Ha Ha has BOTH!!! My first time coming and I fell in love with the customer service, the atmosphere and THE MENU!!! The creme brûlée latte is EVERYTHING! They also have milk substitutes for my husband. Only setback that my husband has is he just would like bigger sizes for drink. We were very pleased and this is now my "go to" spot when I come back to vu read more

The person in charge was pushy and rude to me from the minute I entered the spot and their coffee is NOT organic.

One the best coffee places in Newark. Excellent vibe and a great place to hang out and kill some time. Staff is super cool and have great recommendations for coffee. I wouldn't recommend it as a lunch spot because it is kind of pricy for the quality and size if the portions, but they have delicious snacks if you are craving something sweet or savory with your coffee. read more

Before they remodeled, I saw a cockroach on the wall near the kitchen. I calmly told employees about it, and they didn't seem phased. It seems like it was a common thing for them to hear, which is a shame because they're milkshakes are BOMB AF. I still go there..but it's a lot cleaner and more sleek after they remodeled. read more

I spent pretty much the entirety of my college career doing homework, studying, and just hanging out in this coffee shop. I've tried almost everything on the menu, from pastries, to coffee, to breakfast and lunch, and let me tell you: you can't go wrong here. The sweetheart and Jack Frost lattes are my favorites, but everything is amazing. read more

The best espresso I have ever tasted. Love the food there as well. The seating is questionable, I suppose it's meant to be trendy and mismatched but mostly the tables are just sort of sticky. Also the wifi doesn't work at all, so if you want to study download all of your materials beforehand. So food and drink I'd give it 5 stars, but the ambiance brings it down to 4 read more

Great coffee~ During the summer, the place isn't crowded with UD students so it's a perfect place to lounge. Try the biscotti and their french pressed coffee! read more

This coffee shop is very quaint and cute! It's the perfect study spot but tend to get very crowded in the middle of the day. I have never had a bad coffee here and there is such a variety of options! Not to mention that their chicken salad is one of the best I've had on campus! I'd definitely recommend this place to a coffee lover! read more

Great nonfat latte. Dark, complex, and strong (only 2 shots come in a large but that's enough). Milk steamed to the right amount. Drink came out very fast. Hard to find the place (upstairs in the market building away from Main Street towards the back. I wanted to go back for a second cup three hours later but they were closed by then. read more

I've only been here twice and I doubt I'll go back a third time. Each time, my drink was made incorrectly and staff was rude and impatient. Not to mention the prices are ridiculous. I used to work at the Rehoboth location and never had an issue before until coming to the Newark one. read more

Try the Brandywine sandwich here it is amazing. The tea is great. (Republic of tea). Nice place for a spot of tea and a soup or sandwich. Also the service is extremely helpful and nice read more

I was in Newark for a wedding weekend and needed a place to hang out for a few hours before checking into my hotel. Brew Ha Ha had great reviews, and I wanted to get some work done, so it seemed perfect! The ambiance was relaxed, the employees were friendly, and I enjoyed my cafe latte and Philadelphia salad. The wifi worked well, and there was plenty of seating. Since it's so large, it's not quite as cozy as some other indie coffee shops, but it's well worth it for the ease of finding a place to camp out for a couple hours and not feel like you're robbing them of business. I wish there was one closer to home -- I'd be a regular! read more

great coffee. good quiet atmosphere. wifi was terrible though.

My favorite coffee place on Main Street. The staff is always nice and they have a large variety of options as far as coffee goes. They serve food as well, I had one of the sandwiches and thought it was just okay. Coffee is always great. read more
