Inside was a great chill vibe with relaxing music playing in the background and it's a fantastic place to get coffee, hang out or do some work. There are several coffee spots in the Riverside/Avondale area and Bold Bean is one of the best. If you're a coffee fan, Bold Bean is a must if you're in the Riverside area.

He was huffing and slamming doors and dishes, and it was really unnerving. The most egregious part was the cost. For the above three items, this man actually charged $31. I didn't even bother to argue with him and just paid the tab. There's no way we weren't overcharged, but I'm equally certain he would have resisted any attempt to examine the bill or gotten angrier... over nothing. We didn't say anything or do anything to this man other than place the order and return the hot coffee, which was his mistake. The whole atmosphere was uncomfortable, and I will strongly recommend no one visit Old Cup cafe. You will be ripped off, or retaliated against, and you will not enjoy the experience. Places like this need to just go out of business, and I can't imagine they're long for this world with so many better and more affordable spots in Avondale. Head to Southern Grounds and avoid Old Cup at all costs.

What an amazing place! I went to BREW for the first time last night after dinner at Corner Taco and it was AMAZING!! It's a coffee shop, bar, place to get delicious toast and some of the coolest craft sodas around! We went in at around 10:00pm and the place was pretty full, but not loud, obnoxious, or full crazy drunks. I opted to get my toast and soda to-go, so I went up to the order window(also inside)and ordered a GF, 100% natural, non-alcoholic Flying Cauldron butterscotch beer and a slice of Community Loaves rosemary garlic toast, with kimchi jam and fresh arugula on top. Lemme tell you, the toast was amazing and worth every cent! It made my taste buds go wild in a spectacular way! The butterscotch beer went perfectly with it and reminded me of the Butter Beer in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universals Islands of Adventure, but to drink this "witchy brew" I didn't/don't have to worry about paying to get into a theme park every time I want one;). I love the fact that I, or anyone else that doesn't drink beer can come to BREW at night with friends who want to have a few beers, hang out and chat bc they have an extensive list of non-alcoholic drinks as well:-). BREW has the best food- Excellent quality and amazing taste. Great staff and very cozy. Not only a great place to meet friends or work, BREW also has a heart. Yesterday, while I was there they fed a homeless man and offered him hot tea as it was colder then usual. None of the patrons minded and one even took the time to speak with him. I always enjoying catching up with a friend over a latte at Brew. The servers are friendly, and the delicious coffee is a smooth, rich delight. Every time I've been, there has been an equal mix of people engaged with their laptops or reading on their own, and groups of friends just hanging out & having normal-noise-level conversations. Both items complemented each other well and the pricing was very fair. They do sell their own coffee and it seemed like everyone had a cup. I think one of the better things about it is the drive-thru for people who don't want to get out the car. I am confident enough to use the drive-thru now that I have a go-to order. I rate this place a 10/10 and I will definitely be back to try some of the pastries and different coffee flavors.
